Chapter 74: She Acting Cute?
Xi Xi jogged behind them, and Fu Sijue floored the accelerator, racing them toward the hospital.
The emergency doctor was also startled by the dire situation and hurriedly arranged a full-body examination for Yao Yao.
"The child isn't injured, so how did this happen?" the doctor wondered, looking at the test results.
Fu Sijue's voice was hoarse, his tone slightly trembling, "It happened just a short while after dinner today, no injury and no warning signs at all."
While playing with Xi Xi, Yao Yao suddenly coughed up blood and then fell into a faint.
Lu Xiwán frowned as she looked at the pale Yao Yao lying on the hospital bed.
"Has this child had any medical history before?"
"Could it be post‑traumatic stress disorder? Yao Yao was kidnapped before, and recent triggers might have set it off."
The doctor shook his head helplessly, "I've seen stress disorders before, but this is the first time a case this severe in a child."
It has now begun affecting Yao Yao's body.
"I'm a Psychologist, and I'm still not very familiar with this area; is there any way to treat his symptoms today?"
Lu Xiwán's hands fidgeted anxiously, tangled together, insisting that Yao Yao's condition was caused by her improper care.
The doctor still shook his head, "As a Psychologist you should know how hard mental illnesses are to cure; this child's condition will only get worse."
Fu Sijue slammed a heavy fist onto the table, producing a muffled thud that startled the doctor.
Lu Xiwán quickly grabbed Fu Sijue, and apologetically sneered at the doctor.
"Xi Xi, you first keep an eye on Yao Yao's brother; if he wakes up, have him call us out quickly. I have something to discuss with your Uncle Fu."
With no one else present, Lu Xiwán finally released Fu Sijue.
"I'm asking you to rein in your temper; we're both responsible for Yao Yao's illness developing this way," Lu Xiwán reasoned analytically.
Gu Qingmeng is already in prison; pursuing further responsibility is pointless.
"We can take Yao Yao abroad for treatment; I'll find him the best doctor."
Lu Xiwán pursed her lips, "A broken heart is hard to cure; no matter who you find, it's the same. The key is to untie Yao Yao's mental knot."
Throwing money around at the slightest disagreement is so typical of Fu Sijue.
Lu Xiwán rested her cheek on her hand, pondering, "I might not be able to, but I recall Senior Brother is about to return to the country."
Fu Sijue frowned, his eyes filled with disbelief.
Lu Xiwán read his emotions fully and instantly flared up.
"My Senior Brother is someone even money can't hire; don't look down on him—he's far stronger than any doctor you can find!"
Lu Xiwán immediately pulled out her phone, dialed, and put it on speaker so Fu Sijue could hear.
"Senior Brother, have you been busy lately? I—"
"You don't often call me first; just tell me directly what you need," the man on the other end said, his voice magnetic and lazily drawn out.
Lu Xiwán laughed shyly, "Isn't it because I was too busy at home that I forgot? Anyway, you're returning to the country, so could you do me a favor first?"
To Fu Sijue, Lu Xiwán's tone sounded like she was acting cute.
Thus, the pressure around Fu Sijue dropped considerably, though he didn't notice as Lu Xiwán was immersed in the phone call.
"I could help you, but you have to pick me up yourself; otherwise I won't go," the man chuckled lightly at the request.
Lu Xiwán answered in one breath, "It's settled then; send me your flight details, and I'll wait for you at the airport the moment you arrive."
