Chapter 213: Crazy
At these words, whether the hemp-clad old man and the little girl, or the scar-faced man and the page, all froze in surprise.
“What are you doing…”
After the pink-clad little girl recovered, she turned and glared at Li Muxian.
The scar-faced man, meanwhile, was both stunned and terrified—stunned because even if the courtesan of Bai Xiang Pavilion even noticed this old man, let alone wanted him, how could a man of his age possibly endure it?
As for his fear, it was that he didn’t have enough silver to cover even one courtesan’s expenses, and Li Muxian had just demanded to book all the courtesans of Bai Xiang Pavilion—wasn’t that asking for his life?
Yet despite the whirlwind of thoughts in his mind, the scar-faced man dared not show it, his expression shifting uncertainly.
The page, upon grasping Li Muxian’s words, suddenly grew cold, squinting at him and saying:
“Are you certain?”
Li Muxian pointed to the hemp-clad old man beside him and said:
“Do you see him objecting? Or do you want me to repeat it?”
At these words, the page’s face twisted into a cold sneer. He slowly scanned the group, then uttered three “good”s in succession:
“Wait here!”
With that, he brought his hand to his mouth and let out a sharp whistle. Instantly, several menacing figures surged from the shadows of Bai Xiang Pavilion, surrounding the scar-faced man and the others.
The page then hurried forward, vanishing from their sight.
The pink-clad little girl glanced at the surrounding men, her face darkening. She ignored Li Muxian entirely and turned to the hemp-clad old man:
“Grandfather, let’s go.”
But before she finished speaking, a burly man with a fearsome face stepped forward and blocked her path, barking:
“None of you are leaving!”
Only then did the hemp-clad old man look at Li Muxian, frowning:
“Young master, you’ve gone too far.”
Hearing this, Li Muxian narrowed his eyes and said:
“I’m doing you a favor. At your age, you should dare to dream and act—otherwise, you’ll be buried in the earth soon enough, and such chances won’t come again.”
The hemp-clad old man blinked in surprise, then coughed twice before speaking:
“Young master hasn’t even reached Luo Shen Peak yet, yet you’ve already drawn the attention of Luo Shen Peak’s people. What is your intent? And why drag me into this…?”
But at that moment, Li Muxian suddenly raised his hand to cut him off:
“What is Luo Shen Peak?”
Saying this, he patted the hemp-clad old man’s shoulder:
“Facing all these courtesans in this pavilion, I don’t believe you, old man, are completely unmoved.”
At these words, the pink-clad little girl’s face flushed red with rage. She glared at Li Muxian:
“You… you’re truly despicable!!”
Li Muxian waved his hand, shooing her away:
“Go play somewhere else. You have no business speaking here.”
The surrounding brutes had heard every word, yet only grinned savagely.
Who dares cause trouble in Bai Xiang Pavilion? They probably don’t even know how they’ll die.
At this moment, the pink-clad little girl tugged the hemp-clad old man’s sleeve and gave him a meaningful glance.
But after a moment of silence, the old man looked once more at Li Muxian, then shook his head:
“There’s no point in leaving anymore—we’re already watched.”
At this, the little girl seemed to sense something, lifting her gaze upward.
On the second and third floors, several powerful martial cultivators had silently locked their qi signatures onto their group.
The girl’s face grew grim. Meanwhile, the scar-faced man suddenly trembled violently and slapped himself hard across the face.
He now wanted to hang himself—hating himself for being so foolish as to bring Li Muxian here to Bai Xiang Pavilion.
If he didn’t die tonight, he’d write his own name backward!
Yet Li Muxian remained utterly unconcerned. He turned to one of the brutes and said:
“Is this how Bai Xiang Pavilion treats its esteemed guests? Don’t you have the sense to lead us to the largest private room?”
The brute, his face twisted in malice, opened his mouth to reply.
But before he could speak, the trembling scar-faced man’s expression shifted violently. Suddenly, he pointed fiercely at the brutes:
“You all stand there like wooden posts? Are you deaf? Can’t you hear what the esteemed guests are saying?”
As he spoke, he pulled a silver ingot from his sleeve and hurled it straight at the brute’s forehead.
The scar-faced man had now lost all fear—he was done. Since death was certain anyway, he might as well enjoy himself before he went!
The brute struck by the ingot flew into a rage, his eyes blazing with murder as he moved to attack—until the leader, a hulking man with a bushy beard, raised a hand to stop him, his voice dripping with malice:
“Bai Xiang Pavilion hasn’t seen a bold one like this in ages. I’d like to see how long they can keep up this arrogance.”
Saying this, the bearded leader bent down, picked up the silver ingot, blew off the dust, and slipped it into his pocket.
Then he sneered at Li Muxian and the others:
“Follow me, esteemed guests!”
He emphasized the last three words with heavy sarcasm, then turned and climbed the stairs of Bai Xiang Pavilion.
“Did I tell you to pick up the silver? The silver I threw on the ground—was it meant for you? You son of a bitch, pick it up!”
At this, the scar-faced man suddenly shouted, stopping the leader, his face twisted in fury.
This caused Li Muxian, the hemp-clad old man, and the little girl to all stare at the scar-faced man in disbelief.
He suddenly seemed as arrogant and reckless as if he’d gone mad.
Meanwhile, the bearded leader’s eyelid twitched, and the veins on his arms bulged faintly.
Yet in the end, he ignored it entirely, continuing up the stairs alone.
The scar-faced man spat on the ground, then turned to the hemp-clad old man:
“Old man, when the courtesans come, make sure you share two with me!”
With that, he hurried after the bearded leader.
Li Muxian watched the scar-faced man’s back, stroked his chin, and muttered: “Damn, if you didn’t know better, you’d think you were the number one under heaven.”
Then he waved to the hemp-clad old man and followed after them.
The hemp-clad old man narrowed his eyes, exchanged a glance with the pink-clad little girl beside him, and whispered silently:
“Leaving Bai Xiang Pavilion isn’t hard, but escaping Bai Lian City won’t be easy. Our goal is Bai Lian Peak. Under these circumstances, I suggest we stay and observe for now.”
“If things remain dire, we’ll have to flee Bai Lian City tonight.”
Hearing this, the pink-clad little girl bit her lip, her gaze fixed on Li Muxian’s back, her eyes blazing with fury:
“This bastard ruined our perfect plan. If we can’t take revenge this time, even as a ghost I won’t let him go!”
