Chapter 34: The Mighty Armored Warrior

~6 min read 1,124 words

In the instant the armored warrior spoke, Governor Yu Jin and the four senior eunuchs launched their attack without hesitation.

Five figures kicked up whirlwinds, leaving only afterimages in the hall as they leapt from multiple directions straight toward the armored warrior wreathed in black mist.

A sound of wind and thunder exploded suddenly; Yu Jin’s right palm swelled visibly to the size of a fan, his martial qi coalescing into a glowing blue palm imprint that crashed down with the weight of a mountain.

The four senior eunuchs, including An Quan, cultivated the Yin-Kui True Qi, chillingly cold; each formed fists, palms, fingers, or claws outside their bodies, all striking the armored warrior’s vital points, causing the hall’s temperature to plummet instantly, as if plunged into an ice vault.

Clearly, when the armored warrior no longer concealed himself and revealed his true strength, Yu Jin and the others sensed a grave threat from him.

Thus, they held nothing back, immediately deciding to launch a coordinated assault, determined to strike decisively and capture the armored warrior as swiftly as possible before interrogating his accomplices.

Yet, facing the five elite guards of the Tianjin Guard, the armored warrior remained unmoved, standing firm in place without the slightest intention to flee.

His face, shrouded in black mist, curled into a sneer.

The next instant, the mist-formed iron chains flickered and whirred rapidly, advancing instead of retreating like whips lashing out to coil around Yu Jin and the other four.

“Beware—do not let these Beiqi Ming Qi touch you.”

Yu Jin warned in a deep voice, his martial qi surging from his dantian to form a protective blue aura around his body.

His palm imprint continued its descent without pause, crashing down upon the armored warrior’s head.

Simultaneously, the four senior eunuchs did the same: releasing their qi to shield themselves, they struck the armored warrior’s vital points from four directions with Yin-Kui True Qi.

Yet, to the five men’s shock, their attacks struck the armored warrior’s body and vanished like mud sinking into the sea, leaving no ripple.

The armored warrior still stood motionless; only the blue bricks beneath his feet had sunk half a foot into powder, showing no sign of injury whatsoever—his sneer deepened.

Yu Jin and the eunuchs were startled, instantly trying to retreat.

But the black mist-formed iron chains coiled around their protective qi, binding them tightly, preventing escape.

In the next blink, the armored warrior unleashed five consecutive punches, shattering the protective auras of all five men at once.

Yu Jin and the others were thrown into panic, frantically activating their internal qi to defend themselves.

At this moment, Gong Lishan, standing nearby in the hall, suddenly grew grim and said:

“His Beiqi Ming Qi is too formidable. Though he has not truly reached the Grand Master realm, the sheer density of his qi rivals that of a martial Grand Master.”

“What should we do now?” Ji Feiyun frowned.

Gong Lishan did not hesitate:

“We must intervene. Otherwise, they’ll be drained to death by his Beiqi Ming Qi.”

Saying this, he charged forward first, calling out to the other masters in the hall who had reached the Primordial stage:

“All of you—attack together! Wear him down!”

Hearing this, the guards and junior eunuchs in the hall immediately launched their assault, rushing toward the armored warrior.

At the same time, the protective auras just formed by Yu Jin and the others were shattered again by a single punch from the armored warrior.

“You can’t even kill me standing still—why rush to die?”

The young armored warrior sneered, turning and punching straight into the incoming strike from Gong Lishan.

A thunderous explosion erupted; clashing qi shattered a wide expanse of latticed windows around them.

Gong Lishan clearly could not match him—he was flung backward, barely stabilizing himself several zhang away in midair.

“Crack!”

At that moment, jagged cracks spread across the floor tiles, radiating outward from the armored warrior’s position.

With a series of popping sounds, tiles exploded violently, hurtling shards in all directions like projectiles.

The Tianjin Guard guards and junior eunuchs, still far from the armored warrior, were struck by these tile fragments—like hidden weapons—and could not withstand their terrifying force, being flung back.

Soon, pained cries echoed throughout the hall; junior eunuchs and guards were smashed into walls and pillars, suffering severe internal injuries, each spitting dark blood.

Seeing this, Ji Feiyun, who had just prepared to act, halted instantly and darted to Gong Lishan’s side:

“This man is too powerful—he’s clearly a martial Grand Master. We cannot hope to defeat him. We must summon reinforcements.”

Saying this, Ji Feiyun flicked his sleeve; a bamboo tube shot out through the broken window and ignited, shooting a crimson plume of smoke into the sky.

The armored warrior, wreathed in black mist, glanced this way and sneered:

“Before your Liùshànmén experts arrive, I’ll have to speed things up.”

No sooner had he spoken than he unleashed a punch—this time, his qi surged stronger than ever, blasting all five of Yu Jin’s men flying.

The black mist-formed iron chains, like parasitic worms, rapidly corroded the bodies of Yu Jin and the others.

At the same time, the armored warrior stomped the ground and shot forward like a cannonball, appearing before Gong Lishan and Ji Feiyun in a blink.

His fists, wreathed in rolling black mist, slammed forward; the two barely raised their arms to block, but could not resist—the force hurled them both backward.

At that moment, black mist surged around the armored warrior; he moved faster still, reappearing beside Ji Feiyun and Gong Lishan in midair.

Seeing the armored warrior prepare to strike his skull, Ji Feiyun and Gong Lishan’s faces twisted in horror.

Just then, a gray-robed elder appeared behind the armored warrior like a ghost, delivering a silent, silent sword thrust.

The strike was blindingly fast, brimming with lethal intent—unavoidable. For the first time, the armored warrior showed alarm, barely managing to twist his body and channel all his qi sideways.

The next instant, blood sprayed—the armored warrior’s entire arm was severed by a single sword stroke.

“You seek death!”

The armored warrior roared, gathering all his ink-black Beiqi Ming Qi into his remaining arm and spinning to punch the gray-robed elder.

A monstrous, snarling black tiger, formed from surging Beiqi Ming Qi, burst forth, as if ready to tear apart everything before it.

The gray-robed elder clearly wished to avoid the Beiqi Ming Qi; he raised his palm and struck the tiger’s shadow just enough to deflect it, then retreated swiftly.

Yet his brow furrowed—the armored warrior was retreating even faster.

The gray-robed elder halted instantly, but in that blink, the armored warrior vanished from sight.
