Chapter 64: Corpse God Sect
The Marquis of Cangyuan froze for a moment before finally realizing.
The Earth Corpse Pill, meant to be swallowed by Cang Yinyue, had already entered his own mouth.
Now it was his turn to be filled with terror, utterly horrified.
But his entire body’s meridians and acupoints were sealed; he could not move a muscle, not even a speck of True Qi could circulate.
He could only watch helplessly as the Earth Corpse Pill dissolved instantly upon entry, turning into an intensely icy corpse-water that flowed into his abdomen.
The Marquis of Cangyuan was filled with shock and rage, unsure who had attacked him at this critical moment.
At that moment, a mocking voice sounded behind him:
“You’ve been cuckolded, yet you still won’t lift a finger to seek revenge? What are you thinking?”
Hearing this, Cang Yinyue’s gaze shifted, broke free from her father’s subordinates, and turned her head to look behind him:
“It’s you!”
She never imagined Li Muxian would appear here—and especially not to save her at this dire moment.
“Miss Cang, you owe me a huge favor this time. Otherwise, you’d have been utterly ruined by your own father.”
Li Muxian stepped out from behind, glanced at the Marquis of Cangyuan, and sneered:
“Look at that stench—it’s unbearable!”
After swallowing the Earth Corpse Pill, the Marquis of Cangyuan’s skin visibly darkened to a sickly yellow, and his entire body emitted a stench worse than rotten eggs.
Cang Yinyue also smelled the odor; she immediately furrowed her brows and glared angrily at the Marquis of Cangyuan.
Regardless of any other harms the Earth Corpse Pill might cause, if she had swallowed it and now emitted this stench, it would be worse than death to her!
“I can’t take it anymore—this place is unbearable.”
Li Muxian waved his hand, glanced with disgust at the Marquis of Cangyuan, whose stench had grown even stronger, and said to Cang Yinyue:
“Let’s get out of here first.”
Saying this, Li Muxian turned and walked swiftly toward the cave entrance without hesitation.
Seeing this, Cang Yinyue covered her nose and hurried after him.
But just before entering the tunnel, she glanced back at the motionless Marquis of Cangyuan, hesitating slightly.
“Don’t look. Even tigers don’t eat their own cubs. What good is a father like this?”
Li Muxian’s voice came from the other end of the tunnel.
He had arrived neither too early nor too late, so he’d overheard everything that happened in the cave.
Cang Yinyue sighed softly, a flicker of sorrow in her eyes, but finally she hurried away, ignoring the Marquis of Cangyuan entirely.
“Thank you!”
Outside, in the study, Cang Yinyue bowed deeply to Li Muxian with solemn respect.
If he hadn’t appeared in time, she would already be dead at her father’s hands—but now she was curious:
“Why do you always manage to find me?”
“I already told you last time—I have my ways,”
Li Muxian raised an eyebrow, waved his hand, and said:
“Forget that for now. Your father’s acupoints will unseal soon. Let’s stay and watch the show.”
Saying this, he led Cang Yinyue out of the study and quietly concealed themselves on a distant rooftop.
Cang Yinyue kept glancing suspiciously at Li Muxian, guessing he must have left some mark on her.
But he had never shown her malice, and had saved her multiple times, so she didn’t dwell on it.
Still, she wondered: she’d already owed him a favor before, and now this immense debt—real, undeniable kindness—how could she ever repay him?
At that moment, a furious roar erupted from within the study.
Soon after, the Marquis of Cangyuan, wreathed in swirling corpse-qi and reeking of putrid stench, smashed the doors and windows with a single punch and stormed out, face twisted in rage.
He scanned the surroundings—Cang Yinyue and Li Muxian were gone. He flew into a frenzy, roaring endlessly:
“Damn it, all of you deserve to die! Years of planning ruined—now you’ll all die with me!”
The Marquis of Cangyuan’s eyes glowed with dull yellow light; his hair was withered, his skin yellowed and dried, and his blood qi rapidly transformed into rolling corpse-qi.
Simultaneously, his aura surged rapidly as surrounding heavenly True Qi poured into his body, radiating an utterly terrifying presence.
The Marquis of Cangyuan stared at his own monstrous, half-dead form, laughed bitterly with rage, then suddenly turned his gaze toward a specific spot in the Hou Fu and snarled:
“Since it’s come to this, I’ll kill that bitch and her bastard first, then go after that damned thing for revenge!”
The next instant, the Marquis of Cangyuan shot upward as a torrent of corpse-qi, leaving behind a lingering stench, and charged toward the courtyard where Zhu Fenglan resided.
Hidden in the shadows, Li Muxian watched this scene, clucked his tongue in amazement, and turned to Cang Yinyue:
“Miss Cang, if you turned into this, our friendship would be over right here.”
Hearing this, Cang Yinyue’s temples throbbed with veins; she shot Li Muxian a glare, then stared darkly at the retreating back of the Marquis of Cangyuan:
“I never thought he could be such a man—to treat his own daughter like this—he’s unworthy to be called a father!”
Meanwhile, Zhu Fenglan and the others, having sensed the disturbance in the mansion, burst out of their rooms and rushed into the courtyard.
Seeing the Marquis of Cangyuan approaching through the hazy moonlight, wreathed in rolling corpse-qi, Zhu Fenglan narrowed her eyes and barked:
“You bastard, what are you doing?”
“What am I doing? I’m going to grind you to dust and scatter your bones!”
The Marquis of Cangyuan roared, without another word, unleashed a punch. A terrifying fist-shaped shadow, formed of corpse-qi and over ten feet wide, crashed down from the sky toward Zhu Fenglan and the others.
Zhu Fenglan’s eyes narrowed; she immediately channeled all her True Qi, slamming both palms upward. An intensely icy aura swept across the area, summoning a violent wind capable of shaking mountains and rocks.
BOOM!
The howling icy wind collided with the fist shadow; the shockwave was terrifying, instantly obliterating Zhu Fenglan’s courtyard and the surrounding ornamental trees into flat rubble.
Zhu Fenglan’s feet sank several inches into the ground; she stared at the corpse-qi-wreathed Marquis of Cangyuan standing not far off, her expression stunned and cold:
“What kind of martial art is this? When did you become so powerful?”
The Marquis of Cangyuan stared straight at Zhu Fenglan, walking closer, his voice dripping with malice:
“Bitch, wouldn’t this have been possible without you? If you hadn’t buried all those corpses in this courtyard over the years, how could I have crafted the Earth Corpse Pill?”
“Earth Corpse Pill?”
Zhu Fenglan’s expression changed, her face filled with shock and suspicion:
“When did you get involved with the Corpse God Sect?”
The Marquis of Cangyuan narrowed his eyes, continuing his advance:
“Bitch, why ask so many questions? Just think about how you’re going to die.”
