Chapter 95: Very Strong

~6 min read 1,168 words

The killer with a cruel face toppled onto the boat deck, then rolled over and plunged into the water; the impact caused the other four killers to collapse simultaneously, followed by a series of "plop" sounds as they all tumbled into the water.

"They're all dead."

Li Yuanling took a light breath, then turned her blazing gaze to Li Musheng and exclaimed:

"My wonderful elder brother, no wonder your martial cultivation is as high as a ten-story building—I was too narrow-minded."

Li Musheng chuckled, sweeping his gaze around the surroundings.

Shu Wan'er and the other two women were locked in combat with the experts from Floating Boat City, but their martial strength was clearly superior—they moved with ease, and after only dozens of exchanges, they had already wounded many of their opponents.

On the other side, Han Meiyan and her companion were the same; though the Floating Boat City experts appeared evenly matched against them, fighting back and forth, in truth both sides were holding back.

At that moment, Zhang He, under attack from two killers, "struggled to resist" while retreating from the boat deck toward the platform of the underground palace.

Soon after, he seemed to misstep in a move, taking a blade to the shoulder—clothing tore and blood sprayed.

Zhang He cried out in pain, barely managing to strike out with a palm to repel another expert rushing toward him, stumbled backward, and tumbled toward the water of the underground palace.

The two experts showed no intention of sparing him; instead, they seized the opportunity to kill, leaping into the water without hesitation to continue their pursuit.

Seeing this, Zhang He quickly sank beneath the water, diving deep into the depths, while the two experts behind him relentlessly chased after him.

Li Musheng watched all of this, but merely narrowed his eyes and took no action.

Crack!

A sound of metal scraping against metal came from above the underground palace—a massive black ship, suspended by chains, descended like a rolling cloud, halting slowly in midair and blotting out much of the candlelight.

Shu Wan'er and the other three women instinctively looked up, seeing only Tu Yao in a black long robe standing at the edge of the black ship, casting a cold gaze down upon the crowd below.

The next instant, Shu Wan'er and the other two women changed expression, struck hard to repel their Floating Boat City opponents, and leapt suddenly from the wooden boat.

Their feet lightly touched the water as if walking on solid ground, without the slightest hesitation, instantly transforming into three afterimages as they spun and fled rapidly toward the outside of the underground palace.

Han Meiyan on the other wooden boat saw this, glanced sideways toward Li Musheng, and saw that all the experts around him were already dead—her pupils contracted slightly.

Immediately, she gave Li Musheng one deep look, then decisively repelled her current opponent and retreated swiftly backward.

The Floating Boat City experts naturally would not let them escape so easily, and all immediately gave chase.

In an instant, the entire underground palace fell silent, leaving only Li Musheng and Li Yuanling still on the wooden boat.

Li Yuanling glanced around, then looked up at the massive black ship hovering above the palace.

Sensing the gravity of the situation, she leapt instantly to Li Musheng's side, grasping his sleeve with her jade hand and shrinking behind him:

"Elder brother, if you're not planning to run, then from now on, I'm counting on you."

Meanwhile, the heavenly and earthly qi throughout the underground palace began to stir violently; fragments of stone and dust on the ground trembled incessantly, the water's surface rippled continuously, forming concentric waves.

The surrounding underground space seemed enveloped by a powerful force, the air thick with suffocating pressure.

Li Musheng raised an eyebrow, then pulled Li Yuanling's hand away, disdainful:

"Little sister, you acting so timid like this—if anyone sees it, they'll think I'm weak!"

Saying this, he patted her back:

"Stand up straight, lift your head—don't you remember who's standing beside you? This is nothing."

Hearing this, Li Yuanling pouted, sighed deeply, summoned the dignity of the Princess of Da Li, stood upright and composed beside Li Musheng, and feigned calmness as she gazed upward.

Meanwhile, on the black iron ship, Tu Yao looked at the gray-robed elder Sheng Shi'an, who had just risen to his feet, and frowned:

"Why are you so solemn, Elder Sheng?"

At this moment, the black iron chains around Sheng Shi'an trembled and writhed, the bronze rings on his arms spun rapidly, and martial qi from all directions surged like a furious flood, swallowing him whole as if a whale drinking from the ocean.

Around Sheng Shi'an, several powerful qi vortices had formed, causing his martial aura to skyrocket at an terrifying pace.

He slowly raised his head; his once dull yellow eyes now glowed with crimson bloodlight, his withered, wrinkled face resembling a lava field carved with countless ravines, threads of scorching crimson qi flowing through the creases of his skin like molten lava.

"When our men were killed just now, I still couldn't see how the opponent struck."

Sheng Shi'an spoke suddenly, voice hoarse, his face grotesque, unintentionally radiating an aura that sent shivers down the spine.

He stared at Tu Yao, whose expression shifted unpredictably, and warned in a low voice:

"Be careful—this man is strong!"

No sooner had he spoken than he thrust his hand upward—the bronze rings encircling his arms shot out in a flash of green light, as if tearing through space, hurtling straight down toward the location of Li Musheng.

In an instant, countless spinning bronze rings arrived in a blinding swarm, breaking the sound barrier, engulfing Li Musheng and Li Yuanling—the terrifying qi surrounding them was thick and deadly, as if capable of crushing all things.

As Princess of Da Li, Li Yuanling had been doted on since childhood—she had never seen such a scene.

At this moment, she could already foresee those horrifying rings crushing her into pulp.

In an instant, a chilling dread crawled up her spine, and she cried out urgently:

"Elder brother, aren't you going to act?!"

"It's just a small scene—don't be afraid."

Li Musheng looked up at the black ship hovering above the underground palace, his eyes narrowing slightly.

The next instant, the space around the wooden boat where he and Li Yuanling stood seemed to freeze solid.

The once rapidly spinning bronze rings—mere afterimages a moment ago—suddenly halted, suspended motionless above the boat.

Seeing this, Li Yuanling, who had just closed her eyes in anticipation of death, let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Yet the sensation of facing death had been too intense—she couldn't help but pat her chest, still trembling with lingering fear.

Li Musheng glanced sideways at her and smiled:

"Little sister, you can trust my strength completely—if you can't even trust my martial cultivation, honestly, I don't know who else in this world you could possibly trust."
