Chapter 3: With her hand on his neck, they kissed inseparably

~8 min read 1,428 words

"I'm not toying with you, and it's not a contract. Didn't we already sleep together?" Qin Yan saw the man was angry, his cold, grim expression somewhat frightening, so she hurriedly explained.

"It's just not going public for now. I have some private grievances with Gu He'an to settle. To show my attitude, I can move in with you."

Lu Qianchuan heard this as her preparing to give him a stick and then a sweet date, which he found ridiculous.

"Should I be grateful to Miss Qin for deigning to come and live with me?"

"Don't be so polite. Since we are partners, we can discuss things." Qin Yan thought that since she wanted to get along well with him, she should talk properly.

She walked a few steps to stand before him, her expression sincere as she blinked her large eyes and said to him, "Mr. Lu, you can also make any request of me. As long as it's not excessive, I will satisfy it."

Lu Qianchuan looked at the woman's bright smile, which was truly dazzling in the sunlight.

Any request?

He turned his gaze away and stepped back to keep his distance, also to maintain his rationality.

"Move in with me, and you must be back before 9:30."

"Okay!" Qin Yan heard him agree and thought this person wasn't unreasonable. "Give me your house key, and you go to work; I'll move my things myself."

"There is no key, it is..." His words weren't finished when they were interrupted by a cell phone ringtone.

It was Qin Yan's phone.

Hearing this ringtone, Qin Yan clicked it subconsciously.

This was the exclusive ringtone she had set for Gu He'an.

But she realized it too late.

The call connected, and Gu He'an's voice came through. "Xiaoyan, come to my company; I've prepared a surprise for you!"

"Okay, I'm coming over now."

She didn't want to say more and hung up the phone in a hurry, only to notice the man beside her's cold, gloomy gaze, which made her inexplicably guilty.

"Just registered our marriage with me, and you're going to accept another man's surprise?" The man's gloomy voice was like a malicious ghost.

He could take her life in the next second.

"No, I didn't, I'm going over because..." To deal with him, but this kind of thing couldn't be explained in one or two sentences. She sighed lightly. "You won't understand my business with him. Forget about the key if you don't want to give it; I'll come find you tonight. Goodbye."

Watching her walk away decisively, Lu Qianchuan pursed his lips, his cold, hard jawline tightening.

He indeed didn't understand their business.

Two days ago, he had seen her go to take wedding photos with him, and at that time, the look in her eyes when she watched Gu He'an was scorching and infatuated.

Now she had registered her marriage with him, yet she was still going to accept the surprise he had prepared.

In the end, was she still reluctant to let him go, and was she toying with him?

Qin Yan strode into the Gu Group's CEO office. In the spacious office, she saw Gu He'an sitting behind the desk.

He wore half-rimmed gold glasses, his nose bridge was high, but the lines were soft, not overly sharp or indifferent, and the corners of his lips naturally turned up, revealing a touch of gentleness.

But he didn't like to smile, always giving people a faint sense of detachment, appearing calm and introverted.

His jawline was smooth, giving people a sense of cleanliness and freshness, yet also the charm of a mature man.

Before learning the truth yesterday, she thought he was the most handsome man in the world and was filled with love for him.

But at this moment, she only hated that she couldn't kick him downstairs.

But murder was against the law; she kept reminding herself to stay calm.

Hearing her footsteps, Gu He'an raised his eyes, the corners of his mouth lifting involuntarily, his body reacting faster than his brain as he stood up to welcome her.

"A cake I made myself, five percent sugar. I was afraid you were tired from work, so it's to help you adjust."

Qin Yan handed him the cake she had bought from a shop. In the past, every time she saw him, she would bring him some snacks. At first, he would disdain them and not want to eat, but after many times, not only could he accept them, but it became a habit.

She brought the cake to avoid arousing his suspicion.

Gu He'an took the cake in a good mood, held her hand, and placed an exquisite gift box into her palm.

"Specially prepared for you."

"Specially for me?"

In Qin Yan's mind flashed that night—a hand wearing a diamond ring resting on his neck, kissing him inseparably—and she felt a wave of nausea.

"..." Gu He'an's expression stiffened, but he quickly recovered. He wanted to nuzzle her face and asked with a smile, "Qin Yan, are you angry because I didn't accompany you to be newlyweds last night?"

"That's not it."

Qin Yan dodged him and stepped back before opening the box. Inside was a ring; the diamond on the ring was large, but the style was ugly.

"It's very beautiful, I like it very much," she faked a smile.

Such a large diamond ring should sell for some money in the second-hand market.

"I knew you would like it. Qin Yan, this is our wedding ring." Seeing her smile, Gu He'an finally relaxed and took out a document to hand to her.

"We've already registered our marriage, so let's follow what we discussed before; transfer the Gu Group shares you're holding to me."

Qin Yan took the document and flipped through it casually. Before they registered their marriage yesterday, they had indeed discussed it, and last night she had been prepared to transfer the shares to him.

But he had been called away by another woman's phone call!

And she had discovered that her marriage certificate was fake!

She rubbed her temples in distress and tossed the document aside. "So many words, it gives me a headache. Once you please me, I'll sign it."

"Is the wedding ring I gave you not enough to please you?"

Gu He'an saw the document fall to the floor, his brows furrowing tightly as he bent down, wanting to pick it up.

Qin Yan looked down on him picking up the document with contempt, stood up abruptly, and stepped on it.

She also made a request. "He'an, we've registered our marriage; shouldn't you give me your card? I want to buy some things."

Gu He'an looked at the footprint on the document and instantly felt humiliated.

But thinking that this woman loved him with all her heart, how could she possibly humiliate him?

Hearing her fawningly ask him for money, he stood up to look at her, his expression gentle. "You are my wife; I should give it to you."

He took the card from his wallet and handed it to her palm. "The password is six zeros. Buy whatever you want. I was delayed by work last night, but tonight I will definitely make up for our wedding night."

"We'll talk about tonight later!"

The man was leaning too close; Qin Yan felt disgust in her heart and pretended to be shy, pushing him away.

Gu He'an stumbled backward, nearly falling, and was momentarily stunned.

In the past, she would often shamelessly nuzzle up to him; why was she suddenly acting shy today when he took the initiative to get close?

Could it be that because he promised her they would be together tonight, she was too excited and acting coy?

Qin Yan felt that a man who cheated and betrayed had a nauseating stench about him!

Not wanting to stay with him any longer, she took his card and walked out of the office. Passing the secretary department, her gaze met a woman's.

Qin Yan recognized her.

Gu He'an's white moonlight, and the woman who had registered the real marriage certificate with him—Lin Yan.

Their gazes met.

Her eyes held coldness, while the woman opposite her raised her hand with a hint of provocation, showing off the diamond ring on her finger, brushing the stray hair by her ear as she passed by her.

Qin Yan clenched her fists. Even if she didn't want Gu He'an anymore, her heart was still pricked, and it hurt a lot. ===== CHAPTER 4 =====
