Chapter 167: Crazy, Crazy for You

~7 min read 1,208 words

The tiny backyard turned into a sea of joy once again.

This time the atmosphere was hotter and more triumphant than last time.

Jiang Ran poured wine for everyone, lifted his own cup, and his voice was a little hoarse from excitement:

"This first cup, to ourselves! Together through wind and rain, not a single coward! This second cup, to Chongsu! True gold fears no fire, the more it's forged the brighter it shines! This third cup…"

He looked at Su Ruan beside him, his gaze gentle and proud.

"To my wife! Without her excellent designs, without her perseverance, there would be no Chongsu today! Wife, thank you for your hard work!"

"To Sister Su, Boss Su!" the crowd echoed in unison, sincere.

Su Ruan's cheeks flushed slightly, but her heart burned hot.

Having so many people fighting together beside her was something she could never have imagined when she first crossed into this world.

But now she not only had her own business, but also a lover, and two adorable babies.

The Douzi and Yaya before her were also ones she had rescued herself…

Everything, everything, felt like a dream, yet was more real than any dream.

She raised her cup, her gaze sweeping over every sincere face, finally resting on Jiang Ran, her voice clear and strong: "No, it's to all of us. Without you, Chongsu could not have reached today. From now on, we'll walk together, more steadily, farther!"

"Together! More steady, farther!" The cheers nearly lifted the roof.

The celebration feast continued until night fell.

After seeing off the excited staff and closing the shop door, the clamor faded, leaving only a warm, messy room and the two of them leaning on each other.

Jiang Ran leaned against the cutting table, watching Su Ruan bend to tidy the dishes, the light outlining her slender yet resilient waist.

The alcohol left him slightly tipsy, his gaze hotter and more direct.

"Wife," he said, his voice rich with drink, "come here."

Su Ruan set down what she was holding and walked over, puzzled: "What's wrong?"

Jiang Ran said nothing, reached out, pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly.

He buried his face in the hollow of her neck, inhaled deeply the faint scent of oil smoke and soaproot on her, and murmured, "Happy… truly happy."

Su Ruan returned the embrace, gently patting his back as if soothing a child: "Hmm, I'm happy too."

"It's not just the investigation results that make me happy,"

Jiang Ran lifted his head, cupping her face with both hands, his eyes dazzling, filled with unabashed love and possessiveness.

"It's because of you. My wife, you're that amazing! Great at drawing, upright in character, steady when it counts! Those bastards trying to bring you down? No way!"

He grew more excited as he spoke, lowered his head and kissed her.

The kiss was filled with post‑victory exhilaration, the cherished feeling of something regained, and a love so intense it seemed about to overflow.

Unlike the previous few kisses that were soothing or venting, this one was pure celebration and possession.

Su Ruan, breathless from his kiss, was also stirred by his emotion, responding passionately.

The lingering wine vapors from the feast exchanged and steamed between their lips and teeth, igniting the air.

"Jiang Ran… um… the door isn't locked yet…" Su Ruan whispered between breaths, vaguely reminding him.

"Never mind!" Jiang Ran, breath uneven, grabbed her and placed her on the polished cutting table.

The cold tabletop made Su Ruan shiver, but his scorching body immediately covered her.

"Right here…" his voice hoarse, his fingers deftly unfastened the frog buttons on her collar, "I want to celebrate here…"

The bold suggestion made Su Ruan's face flush and heart race, yet under his scorching gaze and irresistible touch, she dropped her defenses.

The narrow cutting table, scattered fabric scraps, the lingering scent of food in the air and their mutual rising hormones…

No extra words, only the most primal rhythm and blending.

"Su Ruan… you are mine… no one can take you away… Chongsu too… everything is ours…"

Su Ruan was so tired she didn't even want to move her fingers, letting Jiang Ran wrap her in his coat and hold her.

"Crazy…" she whispered, leaning against his sweat‑damp chest, listening to his still rapid heartbeat, teasing softly.

"Hmm, crazy for you." Jiang Ran chuckled low, a satisfied kiss on her forehead, his arm tightening, "I'm willing."

The two lingered in the shop a while longer, then tidied up, locked the door, and went home.

The night wind was chilly, but it could not disperse the heat in their hearts and the tightly linked feeling.

Back home, Li Huijuan naturally chided, "Why so late again?" but seeing the couple's unmistakable spring in their eyes and ease, the elder wisely said no more, only urging them to rest quickly.

She slipped into the familiar quilt, fatigue flooding her body, yet her spirit remained exhilarated.

"Wife," Jiang Ran said in the dark, holding Su Ruan's hand, his fingertips tracing circles on her palm, "the investigation is cleared, the rumors busted, the magazine will do an in‑depth report on us… now the Incubation Park agreement should finally be signable, right?"

Su Ruan thought for a moment: "It should be soon. Once Editor Wang's report is out, its influence will be greater than before. With the Discipline Inspection Committee's conclusion, the Planning Office will have no further concerns."

"Hmm!" Jiang Ran turned over excitedly, facing her, his eyes sparkling even in the dark, "Once the agreement is signed, we'll go all‑out! Produce the Ren Series, shake them up! Then plan the next step with the Chen Family…"

The next evening, as soon as Su Ruan and Jiang Ran stepped through the door, they heard Li Huijuan and others talking about Jiang Jiaojiao's wedding.

"A marriage is a lifelong affair; other things can be compromised, but the wedding attire can't be sloppy! Jiaojiao, do you want to go to the department store to look at Ready‑made Clothing, or have a tailor make one?"

Jiang Jiaojiao, standing before a mirror, gestured a silk scarf, and without a second thought turned her head toward Su Ruan, who was drawing sketches, and Jiang Ran, who was studying the Fabric Book beside her.

"I'm not buying off‑the‑shelf! Ready‑made never fits like custom! RuanRuan, Ranran, I'm entrusting my wedding dress to you at Chongsu! I want it one‑of‑a‑kind!"

Su Ruan set down her pen, smiling up: "Sister Jiaojiao, are you really confident leaving it to us? Not afraid we'll dress you poorly?"

"Can I not trust the clothes you design?" Jiang Jiaojiao walked over, affectionately wrapping Su Ruan's shoulder, "Look at the Skirt you made for me, which one hasn't been praised?"

"For my wedding, I must wear what my sister‑in‑law made herself! Ranran, you're in charge of supervision, the material must be the best!"

Jiang Ran looked up from the Fabric Book, raising an eyebrow: "Sister, you've crunched the numbers well! Want a good dress and also want to save money?"

"To hell with you!" Jiang Jiaojiao spat at him, "Pay whatever it costs! I'm getting married, I can't be stingy now. The key is the sentiment! Yours and RuanRuan's sentiment!"
