Chapter 232: Children's Clothing Final Version
Me too.
In the evening, Jiang Jiaojiao called again, saying Yuan Yuan's fever had gone down and she fell asleep.
"A false alarm," Jiang Jiaojiao sighed, "Being a mother is really not easy."
"You'll get used to it gradually," Su Ruan said, "If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me at any time."
"Mm, thanks RuanRuan."
After hanging up, Su Ruan said to Jiang Ran, "Time really flies; Yuan Yuan is already four months old."
"Yeah," Jiang Ran hugged her, "When Yuan Yuan turns one, we'll all travel together. Find a warm place and have a good few days of fun."
"Sure," Su Ruan's eyes lit up, "We'll bring Mom, Dad, and Grandma."
"Mm."
The two chatted a bit more, then washed up and rested. Lying on the bed, Jiang Ran's hand became restless again.
"I'm tired today," Su Ruan grabbed his hand, "We have to get up early tomorrow."
"Just a hug," Jiang Ran pulled her into his arms, "Nothing else."
Sure enough, he only held her, his hand honestly resting on her waist.
Su Ruan leaned against his chest and fell asleep quickly.
Jiang Ran looked at his wife's sleeping profile and gently kissed her forehead.
This woman, busy for family and career, is his greatest luck in life.
In the new week, the Cornerstone children's clothing sample arrived at the company.
Jiang Ran specifically had Douzi pick up the kids from school and bring them straight to the office.
He wanted An'an and Jinjin to try them on first.
At four p. m., Douzi arrived with the two children.
As soon as An'an saw dad, she rushed over.
"Dad! Where's my new clothes?"
"In the office," Jiang Ran lifted his daughter, "Come on, let's try them on."
In the office, two sets of children's clothes hung on a rack.
An'an's was a pink sweatshirt with gray leggings, while Jinjin's was a deep blue hoodie with khaki trousers.
"Wow!" An'an's eyes lit up, "Pink! I like it!"
Jinjin didn't speak, but kept staring at the deep blue outfit.
Su Ruan helped the kids change. After putting it on, An'an spun in front of the mirror, "Looks great! Like a princess!"
After putting it on, Jinjin seemed a bit shy, but the corners of her mouth lifted slightly.
"Really nice," Jiang Ran crouched down, adjusting his son's collar, "Jinjin looks truly handsome in it."
"Dad designed it," Jinjin whispered.
"Yes, Dad designed it," Jiang Ran felt warm inside, "Do you like it?"
"I like it."
Douzi took photos nearby, "Brother Jiang, if these two sets hit the market, they'll definitely sell out. So cute!"
"No rush to launch," Jiang Ran said, "Once the Cornerstone men's wear stabilizes, we'll consider the children's clothing line."
After the fitting, Su Ruan took the kids to the lounge to play, while Jiang Ran continued working.
At five-thirty, the family went home together.
In the car, An'an was still excited, "Dad, can I wear it to kindergarten tomorrow?"
"Sure," Jiang Ran laughed, "Tell the kids it's designed by Dad."
"Mm!"
Back home, Li Huijuan saw the kids' new clothes and praised them as looking great.
"Ranran, your design is really good. Simple and elegant, and comfortable for the kids to wear."
"Thanks, Mom."
After dinner, Su Ruan helped the kids with homework while Jiang Ran dealt with work emails.
At nine, while coaxing the kids to sleep, An'an was still reluctant to take off the new clothes.
"Mom, can I sleep wearing it?"
"No, you have to wear pajamas to sleep," Su Ruan explained patiently, "Wear it tomorrow, okay?"
"Fine," An'an reluctantly took off the clothes, carefully folding them and placing them at the bedside.
After the kids fell asleep, Su Ruan and Jiang Ran finally had time alone.
"The kids' fitting results were great today," Su Ruan said, "Douzi was right; if they launch, they'll definitely be popular."
"But I don't want to rush," Jiang Ran hugged her, "Cornerstone men's wear is just starting, we need a steady approach. We'll talk about the children's line next year."
"You're always so rational," Su Ruan smiled.
"I learned it from you," Jiang Ran lowered his head to kiss her, "By the way, next week I need to go to Guangzhou to discuss cooperation with a fabric supplier there. Might stay for two days."
"Going alone?"
"Douzi will come with me," Jiang Ran said, "Take good care of yourself and the kids at home."
"Got it," Su Ruan leaned in his arms, "You also watch your safety and don't overwork."
That night, the two embraced and fell asleep.
Although they'll be briefly apart next week, each holds the other in their heart.
During the two days Jiang Ran was in Guangzhou, Su Ruan took good care of the kids.
Every day she shuttled them to kindergarten, helped with homework, and told stories.
On Wednesday night, Jiang Ran called.
"Daughter-in-law, what are you doing?"
"Just put the kids to sleep." Su Ruan lay on the bed, "How are things over there?"
"Pretty smooth. We've finalized deals with several fabric suppliers, and the prices are better than before."
Jiang Ran's voice sounded a bit weary, "The flight back is tomorrow afternoon."
"Tired? Rest early."
"Hmm." Jiang Ran paused, "I miss you."
Su Ruan felt a warmth inside: "I miss you too. The kids miss you as well; An'an even asked today when dad would come back."
"I'll be back tomorrow," Jiang Ran said, "I brought gifts for you all."
"What gifts?"
"It's a secret; you'll know when we get back."
They chatted a while longer, then reluctantly hung up. Su Ruan held the phone, feeling sweet inside. After so many years of marriage, each separation still brings longing.
The next afternoon, Jiang Ran indeed returned on time. As soon as he entered, the kids surrounded him.
"Dad! Gifts!"
"Don't be impatient," Jiang Ran set down his luggage and took two small boxes from his bag.
For An'an was a Handicraft-made butterfly hairpin, and for Jinjin a set of exquisite architectural models.
"Wow!" An'an immediately put on the hairpin, "Is it pretty?"
"Pretty," Su Ruan said, smiling as she adjusted her daughter's position.
Jinjin carefully opened the model box, eyes shining: "Thank you, dad."
"And this," Jiang Ran took out another box and handed it to Su Ruan.
Su Ruan opened it; inside was a pearl necklace, matching the ring on her hand and the previous necklace as a set.
"You spent money recklessly again," she said aloud, but felt sweet inside.
"Not expensive," Jiang Ran helped her put it on, "It just feels right for you."
Li Huijuan came out of the kitchen, saw the scene, and laughed while shaking her head: "You two."
After dinner, Jiang Ran played with the kids using the new toys, while Su Ruan went to the study to handle work.
At nine o'clock, after putting the kids to sleep, they finally had time alone.
"Tired?" Su Ruan massaged Jiang Ran's shoulders.
"It's fine," Jiang Ran closed his eyes and enjoyed, "I just missed you and the kids."
"We miss you too."
After the massage, Jiang Ran turned, pulled Su Ruan into his arms: "Daughter-in-law, let's travel next month. Just the two of us, to relax a bit."
"What about the kids?"
"Let Mom and Dad take care of them for a few days," Jiang Ran said, "Just three days and two nights, not far, to Hangzhou. See West Lake, eat good food, and rest well."
Su Ruan felt moved: "Okay."
"Then it's settled," Jiang Ran kissed her hair, "I'll have Douzi arrange it."
