Chapter 119

She drove to pick up Shu Xuan first, and the two siblings then went to the film set.

But the film set was locked down and no one was allowed to enter.

Shu Xia called Shu Chen, but the call went unanswered, and he did not reply to her WeChat messages either.

She asked the staff, but it turned out the staff did not recognize Shu Chen.

Ever since Shu Chen entered the entertainment industry, he had often worked as a stunt double for the male lead, and sometimes he had scenes with lines; she wondered if the staff were just brushing them off, as logically, it was impossible for the crew's staff not to recognize an actor who was with the production, right?

"Don't be anxious yet, let's wait a while," Shu Xuan said gently.

Shu Xia nodded and took out her phone to look at the WeChat chat history between her and Shu Chen from over an hour ago; she had told him the time she would come to pick him up, and he had said he would come out of the film set on time.

Her second brother always kept his word.

Under normal circumstances, he would not fail to answer a call.

"Sometimes he suddenly gets a scene that includes lines; this kind of situation happened before when I looked for him, let's wait a bit," Shu Xuan said again when he saw Shu Xia was worried.

Shu Xia nodded, "Then let's sit down and chat."

"I was just about to ask you, when are you going to bring the person to meet me?" Shu Xuan had been keeping this matter in his heart.

His sensible younger sister had suddenly married someone on a whim and then kept the man's identity hidden; this matter was a knot in his heart, and he was very worried.

Shu Xia knew Shu Xuan would ask about this, and her eyes flickered, "Brother, there are some things I promised him I wouldn't tell others, but don't worry, I haven't been deceived."

She suddenly thought of Shen Anran.

She continued, "My marriage with him shouldn't last much longer; some things happened recently, and we should be getting a divorce very soon."

"Flash marriage and flash divorce? Do you know what you are doing?" Shu Xuan frowned.

If he still couldn't detect the problems in Shu Xia's marriage at this point, he would truly be too stupid.

"I know what I am doing. After the divorce, I probably won't fall in love with anyone else in this lifetime. I don't regret the decision to marry on a whim. I have grown up and experienced some things, so I know very clearly what I am doing. Big brother, I need you to support me and believe in me," Shu Xia said.

Since she was going to divorce Qiao Muting, she would abide by the agreement and not let anyone know they had had this marriage.

Shu Xuan frowned tightly; hearing Shu Xia say she had experienced some things, he always felt that something must have happened to her at the Lin Family.

What exactly did the Lin Family do to his sister?

To make a girl who had grown up carefree, pampered by their whole family, become like this, with occasional pain in her eyes.

"I will help you keep it from Mom and the others, but if you encounter any trouble, you must tell me immediately," Shu Xuan urged, still uneasy.

Shu Xia beamed, "Mm! Tomorrow I am going to work for Gu Lao's team. Brother, look, I am walking toward my dream step by step; I am really happy."

Looking at the girl pursuing her dream in front of him, Shu Xuan ruffled Shu Xia's hair, "Keep it up, Xia Xia, the bravest one in our family."

"Congratulations to the bravest Xia Xia in our family!"

Shu Chen's voice came from behind them.

They looked over.

Shu Xuan put on his older brother's attitude and asked in a deep voice, "I called you just now, why didn't you answer?"

"Ah, I didn't notice. I was suddenly asked to perform a scene just now, and I couldn't have my phone," Shu Chen explained with a casual attitude.

Shu Xia keenly noticed that there was an injury on Shu Chen's face.

It was on his eye, with a visible bruise under the eye socket.

"You're hurt, how did that happen?"

Shu Xuan noticed it too, "There are petechiae under your eye socket; go to the hospital and get it checked."

Shu Chen's expression was slightly evasive, and he smiled to gloss over the matter, "It's nothing. There just happened to be a doctor visiting the set, and they said it's fine. I just accidentally got bumped while acting. It looks scary, but it's actually nothing; there are always places you can't account for when acting."

"Xia Xia, you are too amazing. I looked up Gu Lao; their team's requirements for hiring are very harsh, but the benefits are good, and they are the benchmark for the entire industry," Shu Chen said to Shu Xia again.
