Chapter 583

As a man, he could not earn less than his younger sister.

Knowing that Shu Xia was coming today, he went to the shopping mall across the street yesterday and bought a luxury brand bag.

That bag was carried by many female celebrities and was very popular.

In the past, when he had no money, he couldn't let other women have things, but he could let his sister have them; now, he could finally do it.

Moreover, whatever other mothers had, he could also let his mother possess.

"Take a look, do you like it? Try carrying it." Shu Chen couldn't wait to give the bag to Shu Xia.

Although Shu Xia was not particularly keen on luxury brands, the bag was indeed beautiful. "I like it, it's so beautiful, thank you Second Brother."

"As long as you like it." Shu Chen smiled from ear to ear.

His sister was just beautiful!

When those female celebrities carried it, they didn't look as good as Xia Xia did.

"Huh? Shu Chen, is this your girlfriend? Or a newcomer signed to the company?"

Suddenly, a middle-aged man appeared. When he saw Shu Xia, his eyes lit up; it was the kind of glow that comes from being stunned by beauty.

Seeing the middle-aged man, Shu Chen immediately explained, "Director Chen, she is my sister, not an artist. She just happened to have time on the weekend to come visit the set."

Director Chen's eyes brightened even more. "Your sister? Has she signed with a company? I think she is very suitable for the peerlessly beautiful second female lead in our drama. If she performs, she will definitely satisfy the audience!"

Now that he looked closer, it was truly incredible; it was as if a character from the script had appeared in reality.

Hearing Director Chen ask her to play the second female lead, Shu Xia couldn't help but smile.

She had never considered entering the entertainment industry at all.

She was not interested in acting or anything of the sort.

She only wanted to do her job well.

"Director Chen, my sister has a job; she is an Antique Restorer and will not enter the entertainment industry," Shu Chen said hurriedly.

He couldn't bear for Shu Xia to enter the entertainment industry. A girl as beautiful as Xia Xia would surely encounter all sorts of things if she entered the industry; what if she were bullied?

Besides, Xia Xia had work she loved.

Director Chen was a bit disappointed, but upon hearing she was an Antique Restorer, his eyes lit up even more, staring at Shu Xia as if he had seen someone rare.

Such a beautiful young girl actually did this kind of dull and tedious work?

"An Antique Restorer, does that mean you can distinguish the authenticity of antiques?" Director Chen asked hurriedly.

Shu Xia nodded. "Yes, most of the time I can distinguish them; this is a required course for my initiation."

"It's like this: I bought a painting for my collection a while ago. Later, a friend who visited my home said this painting was a fake. I spent fifty million to buy this painting. If I bought a fake, I would lose too much. I think it's authentic, but now I can't help but doubt it. I don't know if it's real or if it's worth collecting. Can you help me take a look? I will pay a fee, you name the price." Director Chen hurriedly stated his request.

He felt that given Shu Chen's character, Shu Chen's sister should be trustworthy.

To be able to reject the fame and fortune of the entertainment industry and focus on doing what one loves—there shouldn't be many young people today who can achieve such a calm and composed temperament.

Shu Chen listened, dumbfounded.

How did it turn into asking Xia Xia to help authenticate it?

And Director Chen was rarely this polite to people.

"I can take a look first," Shu Xia agreed.

She could agree to things within her power. After all, he was the director of the drama Shu Chen was currently in; having one more person to help Shu Chen in the entertainment industry in the future would make his path smoother.

"Then can you wait for thirty minutes? I'll have the crew bring you a portion of dinner, and I'll have my family send the painting over right now!" Director Chen asked hurriedly.

He had been wanting to find an opportunity to visit Gu Lao for some time to ask him to take a look.

He felt that in Jing City, Gu Lao's appraisal was the most trustworthy. Unfortunately, he couldn't climb the social ladder to reach Gu Lao, and if he went there, he would probably have to make an appointment in advance, and he hadn't had the time recently.

"Okay," Shu Xia nodded.

While waiting for dinner and the painting, Director Chen asked Shu Xia casually, "There are several auction houses in Jing City, as well as some teams that specialize in restoration. Which team do you work in?"

Before Shu Xia could answer, Shu Chen spoke up with special pride, "She is on Gu Lao's team. My sister even completes restoration work independently on Gu Lao's team."
