Chapter 41: Honorary Professor! The Suspicious Woman!
The principal narrowed his eyes and sized Song Mo up and down from head to toe.
He suddenly spoke: "Now I understand."
"You're setting conditions for me!"
Song Mo clearly wanted to apply to the school for the right to graduate ahead of schedule, or rather, the right to take long-term leave.
Song Mo said bluntly: "Any school would accept this condition."
"A world-class Master should be entitled to certain privileges."
"Besides, I can take the final exams early."
Song Mo knew this clearly.
In universities, there actually exists the notion of skipping grades.
If one is exceptionally outstanding in a certain area.
Or possesses a special talent.
For example, athletes with strong natural gifts can apply for early graduation as long as they pass the relevant assessments.
The principal naturally knew all this as well.
He could understand Song Mo's thinking, and knew that the current Song Mo had every right to make such a request.
The principal deliberated for a moment, then nodded:
"How about this—you graduate early."
"I'll transfer you to the Music College. As long as you pass the Piano professional rating exam, I'll let you graduate ahead of schedule."
"However, there's one condition."
Song Mo asked: "What condition?"
The so-called Piano exam was really just a formality.
Everyone clearly knew the strength of a world-class Piano Master; the entire Modu couldn't produce anyone stronger than Song Mo at the Piano, let alone an exam set by Modu University teachers.
The principal said:
"Song Mo, I wonder if you'd be interested in being a teacher at the university?"
"Becoming a Distinguished Professor at the Music College, specifically teaching Piano."
"Don't worry, the classes are very few—just two sessions a week."
What was there to even consider?
Song Mo understood at once.
This was actually the principal giving him a benefit.
But the principal wasn't foolish either—he was very shrewd.
Once Song Mo agreed, Modu University would spare no effort in promoting Song Mo and spreading the news that he was a world-class Piano Master.
That way, Modu University would never lose out.
Although Song Mo saw through all this, the matter itself was purely to his advantage with no drawbacks, so he had no reason to refuse.
Song Mo agreed readily.
"Alright, I agree."
The principal extended his hand and gave Song Mo a light handshake.
The two smiled at each other with a knowing look.
Pleased to cooperate.
The principal still wanted to invite Song Mo to a meal, but Song Mo already had an appointment, so he could only apologize repeatedly and politely decline the dinner.
……
He arrived at the café they had agreed on earlier.
Xia Yu and Xia Rou were already waiting.
Song Mo walked up and greeted the two women.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Song Mo spread his hands helplessly.
"I was just dragged off by my advisor to talk about something."
"No worries, no worries."
Xia Rou ordered a cup of coffee for Song Mo and said attentively:
"Boss, we actually haven't been waiting long at all."
Xia Yu looked at her younger sister with a frustrated, you-could-do-better expression.
A girl shouldn't be so lacking in restraint!
Don't you know that only by respecting yourself can you earn the respect of others?
Only by loving yourself can you be loved!
Same thing! Nothing wrong with that!
Xia Rou completely ignored her sister's gaze.
She said cheerfully: "Song Mo, the recent news reports haven't cooled down at all—in fact, they're still in an extremely rapid growth phase."
"It's expected to convert several million more fans!"
"At this rate, you'll become a big internet celebrity very soon!"
Song Mo's eyes crinkled with a smile.
"Thanks to you handling the operations for me all this time."
Xia Rou's cheeks flushed slightly as she waved her hand.
"Oh my, you're my boss."
"Besides, I haven't missed a single cent of my salary!"
Song Mo paused briefly, then said:
"Although this growth is already quite encouraging, we must continue to strive."
"Xia Rou, I'll be transferring to the Music College soon, and I'll graduate early after the assessment."
"Then I'll become a Distinguished Professor at Modu University Music Academy, teaching two classes per week."
"This experience can be listed on my resume."
Song Mo wasn't boasting just to show off.
He was, after all, the world's youngest Master, hailed as the future of the music world, having performed piano at the Paris Theater.
This far outshines the mere resume of a Modu University professor.
But online, people fall into three categories.
One: the cultured;
Two: the somewhat cultured;
Three: the uncultured.
Many people—especially older folks uninterested in international music—would rather hear he was a university professor at a young age than learn he was a world-class Master.
They'd be amazed.
"This kid is amazing!"
"He's already a university professor at such a young age!"
"Excellent! He's got a government job!"
For Song Mo, to gain Prestige Value, he needed more people to know him and recognize him—to increase his influence.
No matter whether they were cultured or not!
Therefore,
Song Mo wouldn't limit himself.
If possible,
he wanted to appeal to young and old, men and women alike!
Xia Rou agreed.
Song Mo continued:
"Also, I can't just develop domestically—I need my own internet accounts overseas."
"Xia Rou, I want to create an overseas account. Can you manage internet accounts abroad?"
Xia Rou hesitated: "I do understand how it works."
"But boss, I still recommend you hire a professional—preferably a foreigner."
"That way, it won't clash with local norms, and they can better adapt to the overseas environment and devise suitable operational strategies."
Song Mo frowned slightly.
Xia Rou was right.
But among the foreigners he knew, only Sheldon seemed somewhat reliable?
Let him manage his account?
Impossible! Sheldon had no time for that!
Have Sheldon find someone to help him?
Song Mo didn't trust anyone else!
Then who was a trustworthy, available foreigner?
Song Mo immediately remembered a delicate foreign girl, resembling a Barbie doll—Sheldon's younger sister, Adelin.
Maybe she could...
Song Mo decided to wait until he got home.
He'd call Adelin and discuss it with her.
Just as Song Mo and Xia Rou and Xia Yu were discussing serious matters,
at the second-floor tea restaurant across the street,
in the familiar spot,
An Yinuo sat there, spying...
Like some obsessed stalker, yet she couldn't help being strangely curious about Song Mo!
Her privileged upbringing had given An Yinuo a bold personality—if she wanted to do something, she did it without hesitation.
Fortunately, she was merely curious about Song Mo, simply wanting to watch what he was up to.
An Yinuo suddenly noticed:
A fat person entered the café—the same one where Song Mo was.
She felt a pang of suspicion.
Did this fat woman also come for Song Mo?
Though obese, the woman radiated strong energy—she didn't look like someone harmless.
The woman sat down at a table, perfectly positioned to observe Song Mo.
Instantly, An Yinuo grew suspicious!
Strange woman!
Could she be some kind of stalker too?
An Yinuo took out her phone, edited a message and sent it to Song Mo, but then thought of something and immediately regretted it.
"I must be out of my mind!"
"Doesn't this expose that I'm also watching Song Mo?"
The message was marked read.
It was too late to recall it!
PS: Apologies for the late updates over the past few days — here's an extra chapter.
I'll try to update earlier tomorrow.
