Chapter 289

Sunday morning, Chen Yang and Lin Wei brought Lin Xiaomi to see the principal of Xingcheng No. 1 Middle

Xiaomi, if Aunt lets you go back to Clear Water to live with Aunt and Uncle, would you be willing?

I… I don't want to! Lin Xiaomi immediately lowered their head, and their eye sockets began to flicker.

Lin Wei saw Lin Xiaomi's reaction and knew that no amount of persuasion would help. So she gently said to her, "Aunt is just speaking casually; if you like staying in Xingcheng, that's fine."

Upon hearing that, Lin Xiaomi's mood immediately improved. He softly said to Lin Wei, "Aunt, Qianqian sister said you and Uncle are going to have a baby; I don't fit in with you guys."

Lin Wei heard that, her pretty face slightly blushed. She softly scolded, "Qianqian this dead girl, ever since she got a boyfriend, her thoughts aren't pure either. She even said this kind of thing to Xiaomi."

Chen Yang laughed and said, "What she said isn't wrong either! Even if you don't want to have a baby now, you'll eventually have to. We can't let the old Chen family line die out, can we?"

Lin Wei spat at Chen Yang, then said with a hint of annoyance, "Xiaomi is right here; can't you be serious?"

Chen Yang said, "Passing on the family line is a matter of course; how is that not serious?"

Lin Wei gave Chen Yang a glance, quickly changed the subject. She said to Lin Xiaomi, "When the principal asks you something later, just answer whatever he asks; don't be nervous."

Lin Xiaomi obediently nodded.

Not long after the three left Yangguang Garden Community, they arrived at the gate of Xingcheng No. 1 Middle School. The school's gate was quite imposing, spacious and solemn, giving a feeling of dignity.

After Chen Yang explained their purpose to the guard, the guard immediately picked up the phone and dialed the principal's office number. After a brief exchange, the guard hung up, smiled, and told them to wait a moment; the principal would come out to meet them shortly.

About five minutes later, a middle-aged man in a black suit and glasses appeared in Chen Yang and the others' view. He walked with steady steps, moving quickly, looking like a decisive and efficient person.

Hello, I am Cai Chongming, the principal of Xingcheng No. 1 Middle School.

Principal Cai, hello, I am Chen Yang. This is my wife Lin Wei and my nephew Lin Xiaomi. We came to see you because we want to handle this child's transfer.

Director Wang has already told me about your situation. Let's go to the office to discuss it in detail!

Chen Yang and the others followed Cai Chongming to the principal's office.

Cai Chongming poured a cup of water for each of Chen Yang and the others, then said, "Lin Xiaomi is a martyr's family member, entitled to priority enrollment. Your residence in Yangguang Garden Community also falls within our admission zone, so there's no problem at all in handling this child's transfer procedures."

However, the education in Yunnan Province still differs from that in Xingcheng. We need to give the child a test first, then we can specifically decide which class to place him in.

Chen Yang had Lin Wei take Lin Xiaomi outside to first look around the school environment. Then he said to Cai Chongming, "Principal Cai, when I just came in I took a look and found our school's facilities are a bit shabby. The basketball hoops are all aged, the ground of the playground is pitted and uneven, and many of the desks in the classrooms are old and worn. Would such an environment affect the children's learning?"

Cai Chongming's eyes lit up; he hadn't expected Chen Yang to be young yet so worldly-wise. He deliberately began to complain to Chen Yang: "Little Chen, let me be frank—I also really want to improve the school's environment, but the school's education funds are extremely tight; I'm willing but unable. For this matter I've submitted several reports to Director Wang, but he just says "no money" and shuts me down."

Chen Yang immediately understood what Cai Chongming meant. He said directly, "Principal Cai, if I can solve this funding problem for you, could my Xiaomi be placed in a class with better educational standards?"

Upon hearing that Chen Yang was willing to sponsor the school, Cai Chongming immediately broke into a happy smile: "Little Chen, if your Old Hundreds Agricultural Products Trading Company could donate some funds at this crucial moment, all the faculty and students would remember this favor."

Chen Yang was a little surprised upon hearing that. He had contacted Cai Chongming through Hu Qingwan's connections this time, and he hadn't expected the other party to know that he was the boss of the Old Hundreds Agricultural Products Trading Company.

But that doesn't matter. As long as Cai Chongming can arrange for Lin Xiaomi to be placed in a key class, whether or not he is the boss of the Old Hundreds Agricultural Products Trading Company, he will solve the problem with money.

Principal Cai, could you work out roughly how much money is needed? Later I'll have the relevant staff from my company get in touch with you.

Then thank you, Little Chen! Cai Chongming excitedly shook hands with Chen Yang. The Old Hundreds Agricultural Products Trading Company is now a star enterprise in Xingcheng, even provincial leaders have paid special attention to it. He saw on television that Chen Yang had shaken hands with Vice Governor Liu, so the impression is deep.

Chen Yang laughed and said, "Principal Cai, you don't need to be too polite. My goal is also to hope that Xiaomi can study in a good environment. If this child can get into a good university in the future, I will certainly not forget the principal's help."

Little Chen, as long as this child's mind is on his studies, we guarantee to cultivate him into a pillar of the nation. Cai Chongming was still very confident in his school's teaching staff, but he didn't go so far as to promise everything to Chen Yang.

After all, Lin Xiaomi's records haven't been transferred yet, so he isn't very clear about how the child's studies in Yunnan Province have been.

What Chen Yang wants is to give Lin Xiaomi a good learning environment. Given the child's recent experiences, as long as he doesn't learn bad things and his thoughts don't become extreme, whether or not he can get into university is actually not that important.

Principal, can Xiaomi come to the school tomorrow to register first?

No problem, tomorrow you first bring the child to my office. I will definitely place him in the best class of the grade. Cai Chongming made a firm promise full of confidence. As long as the school's funding issue is resolved, Lin Xiaomi, even if he were a low-ability student or the Monkey King, could enjoy a permanent spot in a key class.

Chen Yang was very satisfied with Cai Chongming's attitude. He immediately took out a big red envelope from his pocket and handed it over. "Principal Cai, this is a little token of my heart. You must accept it."

Cai Chongming's face changed slightly; he quickly waved his hands and said angrily, "Little Chen, you're trying to drag me into wrongdoing! If that's the case, I won't have anything to do with the child's matter."

Chen Yang hadn't expected there to be a principal who refuses money; he was a bit surprised. To make sure the other party wasn't making excuses, he then said, "Principal Cai, rest assured, this is just my personal little token. I will definitely deliver the school's funding in full, without shorting a single cent."

Cai Chongming firmly shook his head and said, "Little Chen, just donating money to the school is enough. Don't bring up anything else."

Seeing this, Chen Yang could only take back the red envelope.
