Chapter 354: Station Protection Measures

After resolving the credit crisis of the ordinary people's sausage, Chen Yang was summoned by Kong Jie to the mayor's office.

"Chen Yang, the corruption issue at Qingshui City Feed Factory has been cleared up, and the management that needed to be dealt with has been handled. When are you ready to take over?"

Chen Yang did not rush to answer Kong Jie, but instead asked, "Senior Leader, what are the conditions for us to take over Qingshui City Feed Factory? Are there any policy subsidies?"

Kong Jie said, "Although Qingshui City Feed Factory has a bunch of corrupt elements, the factory's land, buildings, and equipment have complete property rights. As long as you can guarantee employment for the workers like the Meat Industry Company does, we can symbolically give you ten million!"

Chen Yang nodded. "Senior Leader, I can accept this price, but the related policy reductions, as well as the industrial land you previously promised, also need to be fulfilled."

"Of course! As long as you can make Qingshui City Feed Factory work well, the government will definitely not shortchange you." Kong Jie had already prepared himself mentally, so he didn't waste more words with Chen Yang.

After all, the Red Star Food Processing Factory, under Chen Yang's direction, had been remodeled perfectly, not only solving the factory's internal employment issues but also beginning to recruit externally.

If Qingshui City Feed Factory could also replicate that success, the employment pressure in the city would be much reduced.

"Senior Leader, if there's nothing else, I'll head back to the company to prepare the relevant handover procedures." Seeing that the matter had been settled, Chen Yang got up to leave.

Kong Jie lightly pressed his right hand downward in the air, signaling Chen Yang to sit first. He paused a moment, his expression suddenly turning grave. "Chen Yang, I've inquired with friends from Guangdong Province, and indeed the S virus exists. However, the local government has not taken any corresponding preventive measures. Are you being overly sensitive?"

Chen Yang said, "Senior Leader, according to the information I've received, this virus is highly contagious; even hospital medical staff, without proper protective measures, face the risk of infection. You had better take some corresponding preventive measures in advance."

Kong Jie sighed and said, "Qingshui City currently has no infected cases; if the city were to take preventive measures in advance, it would only cause public panic. The resulting negative impact, even if I am the mayor of Qingshui City, I cannot bear this responsibility!"

Chen Yang said to Kong Jie, "Senior Leader, is it possible that the city leaders of Deep City and Goat City share your viewpoint, which is why they haven't reported the S virus matter?"

Kong Jie nodded and said, "Deep City and Goat City are economically strong cities with dense floating populations; if corresponding containment measures were taken, the daily economic losses would be immeasurable. However, if the S virus were truly as dangerous as you say, they would certainly take action. But I have not yet received any such information."

As a Reborn Person, Chen Yang fully understood the harm of the S virus. After thinking for a moment, he said to Kong Jie, "Senior Leader, actually there's no need for large-scale preventive measures. As far as I know, anyone infected with the S virus will have a body temperature above thirty-eight degrees Celsius. Moreover, this virus is transmitted from the south. We only need to prepare some temperature-measuring instruments at the train and bus stations, and take the temperature of travelers returning from the south. If anyone with abnormal temperature is found, immediately send them to the hospital for isolation and examination. This way, we won't expand the impact while also taking preventive measures in advance."

Kong Jie pondered for a moment, feeling it was feasible, and immediately laughed, saying, "You little brat, your mind is quite quick—you even thought of this."

Chen Yang knew this wasn't due to his mental agility; mainly, his previous life had two experiences of being locked down, leaving a deep impression.

He reminded Kong Jie in a stern tone, "Senior Leader, since you think this method is feasible, go ahead and implement it right away! If delayed, and an infected person returns early, the subsequent remedial work will be greater and more complicated."

Seeing Chen Yang's anxious expression, Kong Jie laughed and said, "This is such a big matter; I can't decide it alone. I need to meet with the Party Secretary and the other city leaders to discuss and make a decision. However, rest assured, the city will conduct follow-up investigations on relevant personnel who have returned to Qingshui City recently. If any abnormal situation is found, we will definitely take measures immediately."

Seeing that Kong Jie had begun to value the danger of the S virus, Chen Yang breathed a sigh of relief. As long as the Qingshui City Government implements protective measures, even if the S virus starts to spread nationwide, the harm to Qingshui City will not be too great.

After finishing the discussion on S virus prevention and control, Kong Jie finally let Chen Yang return to Old Citizens Meat Industry Co., Ltd.

Because most of the company's employees only go out on weekends, Chen Yang did not require them to wear masks outside of work.

However, he had Song Yajun purchase several thermometer guns in advance. For all employees and visitors entering and leaving the factory each day, temperature tests are uniformly conducted.

Moreover, Chen Yang also required Song Yajun to disinfect the factory premises every three days, maximizing the avoidance of possible S virus infection.

Chen Yang went to Song Yajun's office and told him about the company's impending takeover of Qingshui City Feed Factory.

Song Yajun had already been informed by Chen Yang in advance to take over Qingshui City Feed Factory, and he had done extensive preparations. He asked Chen Yang, "Since the business of Qingshui City Feed Factory directly interfaces with our company's business, do we not need to dispatch a dedicated person in charge there?"

Chen Yang did not agree with his opinion. "Factory Manager Song, a snake cannot function without a head. Even if Qingshui City Feed Factory's business interfaces with the Meat Industry Company, it still needs professional management talent to oversee the overall situation; otherwise, major chaos is likely to ensue."

Song Yajun currently has no management talent under him capable of overseeing Qingshui City Feed Factory, and he said worriedly, "Boss, we're not familiar with managing a feed factory; where can we find suitable management talent to take charge of the overall situation?"

Chen Yang laughed, "What are you worried about? With money, are you still afraid we can't solve the problem?"

Upon hearing this, Song Yajun could only respond with a foolish smile.

Among all private enterprises in Qingshui City, for the time being no one can be found who is wealthier than Chen Yang.

Song Yajun's original intention was to tell Chen Yang that he was stretched thin and unable to manage two companies simultaneously. Since Chen Yang plans to hire management talent externally with high salaries, he also feels relieved.

Thinking that the S virus outbreak would soon trouble Goat City, Chen Yang reminded Song Yajun, "In a while, the company's online sales platform may experience a major surge. You had better prepare some extra live pork, lest the e-commerce platform runs out of stock while our supply can't keep up."

"Alright, I'll get on it right away!" Although Song Yajun might previously have had some objections to Chen Yang's orders, he now carries them out almost unconditionally.

Because he has found that Chen Yang's decisions are basically always correct, leaving no room for criticism.
