Chapter 47: Being Blocked

Chen Yang pulled out his university classmates' contact list and found Luo Zhikai's phone number.

"Hey, Old Luo, this is Chen Yang."

"Chen Yang? What do you need from me?"

"It's like this, I've been a bit short on cash lately..."

"Hey, what did you say? I can't hear you! Why is the signal so bad..."

Chen Yang hadn't finished speaking when the other end hung up. He called again, and the prompt said, "The number you dialed is currently in use; please try again later."

Chen Yang tried once more, but it was the same.

All right! He's blocked me...

We've been classmates for four years, we just graduated, and you're already this realistic?

Chen Yang kindly tried to bring business to Luo Zhikai, but he didn't expect to receive this treatment.

Forget it.

It's just a little less profit, no big deal.

Chen Yang set his phone to silent, lay down on the bed and started napping. Days without work pressure are really pleasant.

In the investment banking department office of Xingcheng Bank, Luo Zhikai blocked Chen Yang and then called Lin Wei.

"Lin Wei, your boyfriend is no good!"

"What's wrong with Chen Yang?"

"After graduating, he doesn't look for a proper job, just borrows money everywhere. Someone so unambitious, I suggest you break up with him. Look, I'm much better than him."

"Yeah, but he's more handsome than you!"

"..."

"Besides, he's not my boyfriend, he's my husband, a legally married husband."

"... You got married? When did that happen?"

"A few days before graduation. He might be contacting you to seek funding for some project. However, I have other plans for that sum of money he has, so you'd better not agree to him."

"... You said he has a sum of money? How much?"

"No matter how much, you can't agree to him. I'm on a business trip with my superior, I'll hang up now and contact you later when I'm free."

Luo Zhikai was stunned. He remembered Chen Yang was a poor student who had been working part-time throughout school. Could part-time work have made him a tycoon?

Moreover, Lin Wei actually got married to Chen Yang!

So he doesn't stand a chance anymore?

All right, love is gone, but we must keep pursuing our careers!

Luo Zhikai hurriedly removed Chen Yang from the blacklist and quickly dialed the number again.

"The number you dialed is temporarily unanswered..."

Is he blocking me too?

Luo Zhikai slapped himself hard. After thinking for a moment, he called Zhang Jun.

"Old Zhang, I have a question: has Chen Yang struck it rich now?"

"Hmph, just dumb luck. Rest assured, his good days won't last long."

"Old Zhang, you're roommates, why is your relationship so strained? Could it really be because of Lin Wei?"

"Hmph, he's just relying on his pretty face. When he returns to Clear Water, he'll realize how harsh reality is. I'm saying this now: he and Lin Wei won't last more than three months before breaking up."

"By the way, I heard Lin Wei say they seem to have gotten married!"

"What? They got married? How is that possible!"

"You don't know either? Looks like they've been keeping it pretty deep..."

"Hmph, you lovebirds, I wonder how long they'll stay happy. Old Luo, what does that country bumpkin Chen with the surname Chen want from you?"

"Lin Wei said he wants to raise funds for some project. I'm away on a business trip, the signal is poor, I haven't gotten the details yet. Do you know what he's been busy with lately?"

"He's been hanging out with Liu Shijie from Sunshine Real Estate, probably trying to compete with us for the International New City project."

"Old Luo, you can't lend him that money. If you need performance, you can always come to me."

"Fine, then I'll reject him and only cooperate with you from now on."

Luo Zhikai hung up on Zhang Jun, then kept calling Chen Yang, but still no answer. Being able to partner with a real estate tycoon shows Chen Yang's funds are at least eight figures. Luo Zhikai was going crazy—he actually missed a multi-million-dollar big deal!

In the Sunshine Garden Community, Liu Shijie had already circled the supermarket several times, but still didn't see Chen Yang appear.

Since flipping through the book at Carefree Residence, Liu Shijie has been convinced Chen Yang is possessed by the God of Wealth. Any project he's involved in will definitely make money.

However, Chen Yang suddenly asked to borrow money out of the blue, without giving a reason, which puzzled him greatly. He felt there must be money to be made here, but Chen Yang wouldn't answer his calls or show up, driving him crazy.

"Qingqing, is Chen Yang with you?"

"No, we just ate together; he should be resting at his own place."

"Oh, do you know what big thing he's been up to lately?"

"Big thing? He seems to be planning to start an agro-product trading company."

"An agro-product trading company? You just opened a supermarket, why start an agro-product trading company too?"

"Then I don't know either—you go ask him yourself. I'm swamped with a ton of stuff on the website. I'm not chatting with you anymore..."

Liu Shijie was speechless. Chen Yang wants to start an agro-product trading company, Liu Qingqing is busy with the website, and he's ended up as the most idle person.

No way, he can't let the younger generation surpass him; he needs to quickly find a project to work on.

Chen Yang slept for an hour, woke up to find many missed calls. The most frequent were from Luo Zhikai, then Liu Shijie and Lin Wei.

Luo Zhikai took the initiative to call Chen Yang; he must have been asking Lin Wei about his situation. With that kind of influence, Chen Yang doesn't intend to bother with it anymore. If he can't borrow money, at most he'll just earn a little less.

Lin Wei's call, no need to guess, is also about the sixty-million matter. The heavens are high and the emperor far away; if you can avoid it, do so first. Still, he replied with a message telling Lin Wei he'll be returning to Clear Water soon, so she doesn't need to worry.

As for Liu Shijie, Chen Yang plans to stall him. Anyway, there's still some time before the reorganization of Xingcheng Heavy Industry; once his funds are fully in place, Liu Shijie will also get a chance to share in the profits.

Chen Yang turned on his computer, browsed the major portal sites, and saw no further information about Xingcheng Heavy Industry. It appears the internal confidentiality work at Xingcheng Heavy Industry is still being done well.

Then Chen Yang visited Liu Qingqing's Qingwang website. After several days of technical adjustments, the overall layout is much more comfortable than at the beginning. The only drawback is that the content on women's topics is too scarce, and the categorization is not fine enough.

As for the forum, although many sections have been opened, the themes are not very clear. Apart from a few sections that have some activity, the rest are deserted.

Chen Yang thought for a moment and then posted a thread in the most popular off‑topic area.
