Chapter 589: Is Nike durable or not?

Chen Yang hadn't even contacted Novartis's representative to discuss purchasing the Glivec patent when they already sent a lawyer's letter, accusing Tianqi Pharmaceutical of illegally counterfeiting Glivec.

Helpless, Chen Yang had to clock in at the company again.

"General Manager He, has our project with East Jiang Medical University already started?"

"No!"

"Then what's going on with this lawyer's letter?"

"I don't know, I'm still looking into it. Chairman, could there still be a mole inside our company?"

He Wanqiu looked at Chen Yang with a worried expression. Although she had already made a major overhaul in the management, the board of directors isn't something you can just change as you wish.

Chen Yang certainly knew there were still some unstable factors inside the company. However, he had only taken over the company not long ago, and too frequent changes to the board members could easily cause market panic.

So, for this cooperation project with East Jiang Medical University, he only had He Wanqiu raise a suggestion at the board meeting, without providing a concrete plan.

And on East Jiang Medical University's side, Chen Yang likewise only gave a verbal promise, and hasn't yet settled any written contract with the relevant person in charge.

That is to say, Novartis's representative in China has no direct evidence proving Tianqi Pharmaceutical's violation. If they could produce the so-called evidence, that mole would also be exposed.

"General Manager He, tell Corporate Secretary Zhang to issue a statement clarifying the online rumors. Also have the Legal Department send a lawyer's letter to Novartis accusing them of defamation."

He Wanqiu saw that Chen Yang wasn't paying attention to the mole issue, merely wanting to handle the legal dispute with Novartis, and immediately reminded: "Chairman, if this mole isn't found out, sooner or later they'll cause more trouble!"

Chen Yang said calmly: "The company isn't planning to develop counterfeit drugs anymore, so what's there to worry about?"

He Wanqiu left, feeling unwilling.

After she left, Chen Yang called Zhang Lan over and had her organize a list of the board members' information.

"Chairman, do you also suspect our company has a mole?" Zhang Lan had heard plenty of gossip about moles in the company these past two days, and seeing Chen Yang about to launch the "Root Out Traitors Campaign," she also got excited.

Chen Yang solemnly reminded Zhang Lan: "You're my secretary; without evidence, don't go around spouting nonsense. If your actions affect the company's morale, don't blame me for not being tender toward women."

Zhang Lan immediately covered her mouth upon hearing that.

After Chen Yang waited for her to leave, he then summoned Du Yue'er to the office.

"Sister-in-law, do you know all the board members?"

"I do. Chen Yang, do you suspect the company has a mole?" Du Yue'er's reaction was almost the same as Zhang Lan's.

Chen Yang gave a wry smile: "Sister-in-law, the company is already chaotic enough; don't get involved."

Du Yue'er immediately regained her composure and said: "May I ask what instructions Chairman Chen has for me?"

Chen Yang said: "It's not really an order; I just want to know if your brother has time to help investigate the recent movements of the board members."

Upon hearing that, Du Yue'er gave Chen Yang a dirty look and said angrily: "You won't let me get involved, yet you're asking my brother to do it?"

Chen Yang explained with a smile: "I just want to prove those directors' innocence; I absolutely don't mean to suspect them."

Du Yue'er responded with a look of contempt, not believing a word of it.

However, she still agreed to Chen Yang's request.

After all, if the company runs into trouble, she as Chief Financial Officer will also suffer. And although Chen Yang has divorced Lin Wei, he still treats her like family. Both publicly and privately, this matter must be handled well.

Chen Yang then glanced at the company's stock. Although it had stopped falling, market activity was clearly insufficient. Many people are probably still waiting for Novartis's complaint against Tianqi Pharmaceutical to be resolved.

Chen Yang suddenly felt that Chu Ning was sent by heaven to counter him.

So he drove to a Nike store, looked around, and changed his entire outfit into Nike.

After that, he went to the villa of the East Jiang Business Alliance on Jiangmen Dao to find Chu Ning.

"Chen Yang, you're dressed so casually today—are you inviting me to play golf?"

"Sorry, I don't know how to play golf."

"No way, the renowned richest man can't even play golf?"

"Who said the richest man must play golf? And I'm not the richest man either."

"You're not the richest man, so who in the country has more money than you?"

"I don't know, and I'm not interested in wealthy people either!"

"... If you don't know golf, I can teach you."

"No thanks, I came today just to test something."

"What?"

"No rush, we'll talk about it tonight!"

Chu Ning immediately stepped back, trying to keep a safe distance from Chen Yang. At the same time, she warned with a wary expression: "Chen Yang, don't mess around; my bodyguard will be in Xingcheng tonight."

Chen Yang saw her misunderstanding and immediately said: "Miss Chu, you're overthinking it; I have no interest in you."

Upon hearing that, Chu Ning exploded: "Chen Yang, what do you mean?"

Actually, after the words slipped out, Chen Yang felt it was a bit improper. Seeing Chu Ning angry, he explained again: "Miss Chu, I mean I have absolutely no improper thoughts toward you."

Chu Ning had always been confident about her looks, never expecting to fall short in Chen Yang's eyes. She fiercely said to Chen Yang: "Am I not good-looking?"

"How could that be…" Chen Yang was frightened by her murderous gaze and quickly corrected: "Miss Chu, you look like a heavenly maiden; even Xi Shi would feel ashamed beside you."

Upon hearing that, Chu Ning was somewhat satisfied, but she snorted coldly: "Smooth-talker, truly a fickle person."

"Miss Chu, I might as well head back and not disturb your rest." Chen Yang hurriedly got up and ran off. He had originally wanted to test whether Nike was truly durable, but found that if he stayed longer, he wouldn't be scared to death, yet he'd be taken to the police station as a rogue.

"Stop! You haven't said what you're going to do tonight!" Seeing Chen Yang about to leave, Chu Ning immediately reached out and grabbed him.

Chen Yang looked at Chu Ning helplessly.

"Miss Chu, can I not say?"

"Hmph, if you don't speak, you're not leaving here!"

"Then if I say it, you must not get angry."

"Rest assured, I will absolutely not get angry!"

"Alright, look at what I'm wearing today."

"Nike, what's up? This outfit is a bit pricey, but I can't not afford it. Is it worth showing off in front of me?"

No, I mean I want to try wearing Nike and see if buying stocks will still be countered by you.

……

Chu Ning directly pounced onto Chen Yang and gave him a furious beating.

Chen Yang, while dodging, accused Chu Ning: "You said you wouldn't get angry; can you at least show some integrity?"

Chu Ning gritted their teeth and said: "I'm not angry at all; I just purely want to beat you!"
