Chapter 7: Qingqing the Junior
The school district housing in Xingcheng is concentrated in the old city of Jiangdong. Three of Xingcheng's four famous schools are located in this area.
Chen Yang looked it up online; currently the average housing price in Xingcheng is between 1500 and 2000.
To get familiar with the specifics, after receiving his bonus he moved his base to the old city and rented a furnished old two-bedroom near the teacher-training affiliate middle school of the four famous schools, at 300 per month with a deposit of one month and payment of three months.
Considering that he would need to renovate after buying a new home, Chen Yang directly paid six months' rent.
The landlady is a retired teacher, talkative and enthusiastic; in less than half an hour she clearly explained the surrounding situation to Chen Yang. Before leaving, she also said she would introduce him to a potential partner.
Chen Yang didn't pay attention at the time and didn't expect the old lady to come again in the evening.
Little Chen, tidy up and dress handsomely; Miss Liu will be back soon.
"Which Miss Liu?" Chen Yang had a bewildered face, thinking the landlady was too enthusiastic, introducing a potential partner on the first day they met, not fearing he might be a bad person.
"It's the Miss Liu I mentioned earlier. She's also from Xingcheng University, one year below you. Her grandmother is my colleague, and she's very satisfied with your conditions." After saying this, the landlady urged Chen Yang to get ready quickly.
This pushy enthusiasm left Chen Yang both laughing and crying. Just as he was about to find an excuse to refuse, a clear voice came from below the stairwell.
"Chen Yang senior, what are you doing here?"
Upon hearing that voice, Chen Yang felt it was very familiar; taking a closer look, his head began to hurt.
The person was Liu Qingqing, a junior, a lively and beautiful girl.
They had both worked part-time at a bar near the school. The difference was that Chen Yang worked to support himself, while Liu Qingqing did it purely to experience life, often bringing friends to the bar to play, and her wages weren't even enough to cover a fraction of her expenses.
"You know each other? That's even better." The landlady smiled even more happily, as if seeing a big red envelope from her old colleague beckoning to her.
"Grandma Zheng, you finally made sense today!" Liu Qingqing happily ran upstairs and, in the motion, hugged the landlady.
The landlady pretended to be angry as she pushed her away, but her tone was gentle as she said: "You little rascal, when has Grandma ever not made sense?"
"Making sense! Making sense! Always making sense!" Liu Qingqing happily acted coquettish. The landlady laughed happily, and to avoid disturbing the two's "world of two," she quickly found an excuse and left.
Chen Yang looked at Liu Qingqing; she was still full of style today. Her elegant long hair hung over her shoulders, a black duck-bill cap with a cartoon pattern sat on her head, a white printed T-shirt clung to her slim waist, light-blue denim shorts wrapped her fair long legs, and she wore silver high-heeled sandals, truly resembling a fashion model.
"Senior, am I pretty today?"
"When aren't you pretty?"
"Then why did you reject me?"
"I like big-breasted women!"
Liu Qingqing kicked Chen Yang hard, then stormed back to her room angrily.
Chen Yang watched her close the door; not only did his foot hurt, but his head hurt even more.
During their junior year, Liu Qingqing pursued Chen Yang, but he rejected her. The reason was simple: their family backgrounds differed greatly. Liu Qingqing's family was not only scholarly but also had some influence in Xingcheng's business world. Facing her, Chen Yang felt an innate sense of inferiority.
However, Liu Qingqing's love life in her previous life was also unsuccessful; several relationships fizzled out, and she remained single until Chen Yang was reborn.
The reason, Chen Yang didn't dare ask. He feared she would bring up the past, and also feared he couldn't withstand life's pressure, leading to mental or physical infidelity.
Of course, there is another most important reason: he likes big-breasted women. Liu Qingqing excels in every aspect, her only flaw being that her chest isn't ample enough.
Chen Yang deliberately angered her to drive her away, also wanting to calm himself.
During their junior year, he tried every means to get rid of Liu Qingqing's entanglement, even quitting his bar job. Unexpectedly, however, they ended up facing each other as neighbors at the brink of graduation. What… sinful!
Chen Yang suddenly thought of Lin Wei; at this moment, the only thing that could likely bring Liu Qingqing back to calmness would be his marriage certificate with Lin Wei.
In his previous life, it was only after Chen Yang married Zhang Meili that Liu Qingqing finally let go of her longing.
However, Zhang Jun caused a stir on the school forum a few days ago, so the fact that he and Lin Wei obtained their marriage certificate can no longer be made public; otherwise, trouble would return to him and Lin Wei.
My head hurts, my head hurts!
Chen Yang still hadn't thought of a solution when another knocking came at the door.
He opened the door and saw still Liu Qingqing's pretty face. Her hat was off, her makeup removed, and her high heels swapped for pink flat slippers. She held her stomach and coquettishly whined to Chen Yang.
"Senior, I'm hungry; can you make me something to eat?"
Chen Yang pointed to the empty kitchen and said helplessly: "I just rented this place; I haven't had time to buy anything, so I can't cook."
"No problem, my kitchen has everything; come cook at my place." After saying that, Liu Qingqing forcibly dragged Chen Yang to her home.
Upon entering, Chen Yang found the layout almost identical to his own rented place, but the interior decoration was much more luxurious. The refrigerator, color TV, sofa, and air conditioner were all present, and the kitchen even had a range hood.
However, Liu Qingqing clearly isn't someone who manages a household well. The vegetables in the fridge are neatly arranged, with supermarket labels still intact; looking at the date, they were bought a week ago. The meat is the same, left untouched in the freezer.
He picked out some spoiled vegetables to throw away but couldn't find a trash bin. Asking Liu Qingqing, she hesitated for a while before pointing to the balcony.
Chen Yang opened the balcony door and saw the trash bin full of takeout boxes, instant noodle bags, and beer cans.
"I overslept this morning, afraid of being late for class, so I didn't have time to throw it out," Liu Qingqing explained embarrassedly.
Chen Yang said nothing; this situation was already commonplace in his four years of university life. City kids differ from rural kids—many don't do chores, and even more so for Liu Qingqing, a wealthy young lady raised with a silver spoon.
He grabbed a few trash bags, packed all the garbage, and threw it into the waste station outside the residential building.
He then thawed the meat and made two bowls of shredded meat noodles.
Liu Qingqing ate with relish, saying while eating: "Senior, your shredded meat noodles are really delicious; I could eat them for a lifetime."
Chen Yang gave her a look and joked: "Then you should find a top-tier chef; you could have any delicacy you want."
"I don't want to find a chubby cook." Liu Qingqing pouted, gazing at Chen Yang with affection, and said: "I just like you."
Chen Yang couldn't respond, so he pretended to be clueless. After finishing the noodles and cleaning the kitchen, he found an excuse to escape back to his newly rented place.
Having experienced his past life, Chen Yang was unwilling to hastily start a new relationship.
Whether Lin Wei or Liu Qingqing, neither belongs to his world. Being friends or lovers might be possible, but as husband and wife, it would inevitably become another tragedy.
