Chapter 758: Aunt-in-law

Since Wang Qing Shu was unwilling to leave Modu, Chen Yang could only let him temporarily work as a consultant in the technical department of Three Stone Technology Company.

In response, Wang Qing Shu had no objection, merely asking Chen Yang to arrange an independent dormitory for him at the company.

For such a small request, Chen Yang naturally would not refuse.

However, when communicating with Wang Lei, he specifically instructed the latter to find an opportunity to test Wang Qing Shu's ability.

If he truly has great talent, he can be entrusted with important responsibilities in the future; otherwise, let him continue to idle. As long as it does not affect the company's normal operations, keeping an idle person has almost no impact on Chen Yang now.

After arranging Wang Qing Shu, Chen Yang again entered a semi-rest state. During the day he chatted with the pregnant Chu Min, played the Extreme Speed Racing game, and in the evening he traded US stocks.

Such days continued for about ten days.

That morning, Chen Yang was still asleep when Qian Duo Duo's phone suddenly came through, the voice sounding urgent.

"Boss, hurry to the company for a moment, someone is causing trouble!"

"Who? Have you offended anyone recently?"

"Boss, we haven't offended anyone! This person is a woman, very beautiful, bringing over a dozen bodyguards blocking the company entrance, demanding to see you by name."

"Boss, are you again owing us some unknown romantic debt outside?"

"Nothing of the sort! First hold them off, I'll be right over..."

Chen Yang has recently been at home, aside from Wang Lei and his company's executives, having no contact with anyone else.

According to Qian Duo Duo's description, the other party brought over a dozen bodyguards, indicating their status is certainly not ordinary. But Chen Yang searched his mind thoroughly and still could not figure out who this person was.

Left with no choice, he could only have Bai Ruonan summon all the on-duty bodyguards to come over for reinforcement.

The company is less than five hundred meters from where Chen Yang lives; going out is just a matter of stepping on the accelerator.

After Chen Yang and Bai Ruonan took the elevator to the company, they found the office building's hallway already filled with two groups of people. One group consisted of Chen Yang's bodyguards and the security guards of the Old People's Agricultural Products Trading Company's Modu Branch responsible for security; the other group, although all dressed in black suits, were looking at Chen Yang's bodyguards as if facing a formidable enemy. Their aura felt more like a hastily assembled makeshift troupe.

At the rear of that crowd stood two women. One was Chen Yang's financial manager Qian Duo Duo. The other had a delicate appearance, pure features, wearing a light blue dress with white casual shoes, like an elf fallen into the mortal world.

"Miss Shangguan, my boss has arrived. If you have anything to say, just talk to him," Qian Duo Duo said while speaking to the woman, making a face at Chen Yang, an expression of enjoying the spectacle without caring about the consequences.

Chen Yang searched his mind again, confirmed he had no impression of the woman before him, and instantly breathed a sigh of relief. He slowly walked toward her, speaking in a calm tone:

"Hello, I am Chen Yang, the boss of this company. May I ask what business you have with me, miss?"

The blue-dressed woman expressionlessly said to Chen Yang, "I am Shangguan Yan, the future wife of Wang Qing Shu. According to the rules of the old Wang family, you should call me Aunt-in-law."

Chen Yang staggered for a moment; he never expected Wang Qing Shu's fiancée to come looking for him so quickly, nor did he expect her to be this beautiful.

Such a beautiful woman, and Wang Qing Shu didn't even glance at her before running off—he deserves to stay single for life!

Chen Yang immediately gave Bai Ruonan a look, signaling her to take the bodyguards away and, by the way, go inform Chu Min. After Bai Ruonan and the others left, he then said to Shangguan Yan:

"Aunt-in-law, there are many people here; let's first go to my office to talk!"

Shangguan Yan nodded, took out a stack of brand-new Mao Zedong bills from her bag, gave two to each person who had come with her, and then sent them away.

Seeing that she made no attempt to hide it, Chen Yang smiled and said, "Aunt-in-law, you came here; a phone call would have sufficed, no need to go to such expense."

Shangguan Yan explained in a flat tone: "I just arrived in Modu, unfamiliar with the place; I only have a college friend developing here. She has been filming elsewhere recently, and out of worry that I might be bullied by Wang Qing Shu, she asked some colleagues to come help."

"However, I actually also really want to find someone to give Wang Qing Shu a good beating."

Chen Yang also felt that Wang Qing Shu indeed deserved a beating. With such a beautiful fiancée, others would search with lanterns and still not find her; he, however, didn't even see her face before slipping away.

After reaching the office, Chen Yang had the secretary brew two cups of tea, one for Shangguan Yan and one for himself. After she finished her tea, he then curiously asked: "Aunt-in-law, since you came to look for Uncle Wang Qing Shu, how did you end up here?"

Shangguan Yan calmly looked at Chen Yang for a moment, then said: "I actually didn't know he was at your place. But before coming, I had someone inquire about his connections in Modu. Besides Mayor Wang, the only person close to him is your mother-in-law. Mayor Wang would likely not indulge him, and Aunt Zhishan is not in Modu. As you are the son-in-law of Aunt Zhishan, you have many businesses here, making it more likely to hide him."

Chen Yang did not expect Shangguan Yan's reasoning to be so clear; he felt a surge of admiration. Yet such an intelligent and beautiful woman, still unmarried at twenty-eight, made him unable to help but feel more curious.

"Aunt-in-law, with your qualities, you should have no shortage of suitors; why must you cling to my uncle's tree?"

Upon hearing this, Shangguan Yan's pretty face immediately turned cold. She let out a soft hum and said: "I never intended to cling to his tree. I only wanted to find him to ask clearly: what about me, Shangguan Yan, is not worthy of him? To dissolve the engagement, he didn't utter a word, left home, and even voluntarily gave up his inheritance rights."

Chen Yang also thought Wang Qing Shu's behavior was bizarre. If Shangguan Yan had some flaw he couldn't accept, they could sit down and clarify. Instead, he didn't even see her face before running away. This not only embarrassed the Shangguan family but also left the Wang family elders unable to save face.

However, Wang Qing Shu is after all a cousin of Wang Zhishan and Wang Tianhe. Chen Yang cannot, just because Shangguan Yan is beautiful, sell out Wang Qing Shu.

After a moment's thought, he said to Shangguan Yan: "Aunt-in-law, Uncle Wang Qing Shu is not currently at my company. If you want to talk with him, come to my house tonight. Before then, I will certainly try to get in touch with him."

Shangguan Yan slightly furrowed her brows, looking at Chen Yang with vigilance, and said: "You wouldn't be giving him a heads‑up to help him keep fleeing, would you?"

Chen Yang smiled and soothed her: "Aunt-in-law, rest assured! If you don't see him tonight, you can vent your anger on me."

Seeing that Chen Yang did not seem to be deceiving her, Shangguan Yan nodded and said: "Then I'll contact you again tonight." After saying that, she rose and left Chen Yang's office.

Chen Yang was not at ease; he personally escorted her into the elevator going down. After the elevator doors closed, he then took out his phone and dialed Wang Qing Shu's number.

"Uncle, please come to my company office right away. Regarding the Extreme Speed Racing game, there are some detail issues I want to discuss with you."
