Chapter 25: Her Heart Slightly Soft 25
Gu Yunzhen took a private jet overnight and flew back solely to warn that man not to hurt the girl he loves.
In the living room stood a piano; Yu Ma poured him a cup of tea, and he remembered that she loved tea.
The living‑room table neatly displayed her design drafts; Yu Ma, upon seeing them, smiled kindly, put them away and said, "Madam is the chairman of Miss, and when she's idle she designs herself."
Gu Yunzhen saw her graceful signature and nodded.
"Shall you have a seat, and I'll go urge them again?" Yu Ma rarely saw anyone come to see Madam; most of the time they came to see the husband, and Madam seemed to have few friends, except Mo Guoshi.
He objected lightly, "It's cold, she likes to sleep in."
Yu Ma gave a soft "mm."
He began to mutter in his mind that the remark from the husband wasn't much, but coming from an outsider felt a bit presumptuous.
He ignored the servant's thoughts, yet felt uneasy inside.
Why bother? She is already someone else's wife.
Yi Ruan took a quick shower, freshened up, and came out.
Fu Qiwei went to the guest room to wash up.
After about twenty minutes, at the stairwell, a man in a black turtleneck sweater and black suit trousers helped a woman down the stairs; it wasn't because she was injured, but Fu Qiwei was showing off their deep marital bond.
She wore a dark gray turtleneck sweater, a black knitted long skirt, her long hair loosely tied low, a black vest over it, and pink fluffy rabbit slippers.
Gu Yunzhen involuntarily held his breath; she seemed to lack a strong aura, becoming a bit softer.
Yu Ma went to the kitchen, carried a cup of warm milk and handed it over, "Madam, have some hot milk."
She took it, smiled, "Thank you, Yu Ma."
Fu Qiwei looked at him, his eyes half‑smiling, half‑serious, meaning unclear.
Yi Ruan was the first to sit on the living‑room sofa, Fu Qiwei sat beside her, Gu Yunzhen looked at her, and after a while said, "Sorry for disturbing your rest."
She didn't expect him to say that; she lifted her hand, tucked the loose strands behind her ear, and continued, "It's nothing, um, do you have something to say?"
Remembering the slap she gave him last time, she felt a bit embarrassed, and Fu Qiwei said nothing beside her, making her feel even more uneasy.
He nodded, "I have some words I want to say to Fu Qiwei."
Yi Ruan's expression suddenly turned cold, "What are you looking for, disturbing my rest?" "Fine, then you two talk."
She got up, walked toward the kitchen, and asked, "Yu Ma, what are we having for breakfast?"
Fu Qiwei looked at him, his eyes showing indifference.
He smiled, "Matters like this are better discussed in your study."
Fu Qiwei lowered his deep gaze and made a gesturing "please."
When Yi Ruan came out, the two people on the sofa had already vanished.
Yu Ma, standing behind her, said, "Madam, I think Gu Shaoye seems very concerned about you."
She nodded but said nothing.
In the study
Gu Yunzhen took a USB drive from his pocket and plugged it into his computer.
"President Fu, perhaps you should explain."
Having said that, he gave him the seat.
He sat down with an indifferent expression; after looking at two photos, his whole body involuntarily shivered, and the farther he looked, the deeper his expression became.
Gu Yunzhen stared at him with eyes as cold as an ice cellar.
He shut the computer, kicked the desk hard, and shouted, "Gu Yunzhen, what do you want?!"
The current Fu Qiwei seemed to have gone mad, like a raging beast, his eyes slightly reddened as he stared at Gu Yunzhen.
Yi Ruan was his youthful first love, a taboo that no one could touch.
Gu Yunzhen's eyes were icy; looking at him like a madman, he said coldly, "I should be the one asking you, what do you want?! How can you make the girl I love suffer such a grievance!"
The room's soundproofing was excellent.
Fu Qiwei was furious.
"Yi Ruan, Ruan, gentle and lovely, don't you think that word fits A Ruan better?"
He now wished he could slash Fu Qiwei.
"She's dead, she's already dead, but A Ruan is still alive!"
"Shut up."
"Fu Qiwei, are you still a man?! Is this how you treat her? She's entwined in love with you, and you hurt her like this? You say you married her, but who did you actually marry?!"
He claimed he loved Yi Ruan, yet every month sent millions to that woman's family.
He didn't know whether that woman was dead or alive, but he knew her sister was no pushover.
And he, having married his A Ruan, still kept another woman in his heart.
Impressive, Fu Qiwei really did a fine job, capable of deeds, but not of human affairs!
"My family matters, stay out of it."
Gu Yunzhen, angry, grabbed the papers scattered on the floor and hurled them at him, "I don't care what relationship that woman named Yi Ruan has with you, whether she's dead or alive; if you dare mistreat A Ruan, I'll take her away at once!"
He looked at Gu Yunzhen coldly and mocked, "You don't have that ability."
He took two bright‑red marriage certificates from the study's bookshelf.
He flung them at Gu Yunzhen's face, laughed, "We're married; as long as I don't divorce, she can only stay by my side."
Gu Yunzhen stared at the marriage certificates on the floor, his eyes growing ever deeper and colder, and finally slammed the door and left.
Fu Qiwei let out a faint cold laugh, the laugh seeping.
Suddenly, he calmed down, looked at the mess in the study, and spoke lightly, not knowing to whom, "If Ruan leaves me, I'll take her to Xidelia."
She was stabbing fish balls with a spoon, saw Gu Yunzhen come down, and asked lightly, "Where's Qiwei?"
Gu Yunzhen pulled out a chair and sat beside her; she reflexively stood up; he asked very gently, "Aruan, why did you suddenly stop liking me?"
Yi Ruan ignored him, turned to go find Fu Qiwei, worried something might happen to him, but saw Fu Qiwei coming down the stairs.
"Ruanruan, see the guest off."
His tone was extremely cold.
Yi Ruan was somewhat curious what they had said, but turned and said to Gu Yun plainly, "Gu Shaoye, sorry, we didn't prepare any food at home, so I won't keep you for a meal."
Gu Yunzhen remained silent, shoved the half-eaten fish ball she had just been eating into his mouth, smiling brightly, "Aruan, I'll come see you again later."
She instinctively said, "I don't need you to come see me."
As soon as Gu Yunzhen left, Fu Qiwei scooped her up in a waist embrace; seeing his bad complexion, Yi Ruan dared not ask further.
Back in the room, he put her on the bed; Fu Qiwei, somewhat dazed, stroked her cheek, "Ruanruan, I love you."
His slightly rough fingers slowly traced her face; Yi Ruan flung herself into his arms, smiling, she said, "How come being with Gu Yunzhen for a while makes things so mushy?" Yet she happily continued, "I love you too."
He held her tightly, as if she would vanish in the next second.
But that won't happen; as long as Gu Yunzhen doesn't reveal it, this secret will remain locked forever.
