Chapter 108: Eating, Drinking, and Having Fun
At 4:30 in the afternoon, the sunlight gradually slanted westward, dyeing the sky a golden yellow. When the black BMW arrived at the gate of the Communication University of China, a graceful figure was there, craning her neck in anticipation.
She was wearing a pure-desire hollow-out knit sweater paired with a matching mesh skirt; a gentle breeze brushed past, causing the hem of her skirt to sway in the wind, looking ethereal.
After getting into the car, Hao Anqi couldn't wait to ask Shen Yan how the battle had gone. Shen Yan smiled and said, "With your boyfriend making an appearance, it's surely a case of 'if gods block, kill gods; if Buddhas block, kill Buddhas'."
Hao Anqi wore an 'I knew it' expression, only regretting that she hadn't been able to witness Shen Yan's dashing heroic posture.
Shen Yan smiled, then picked up a bouquet of roses from the back seat; their vibrant color was as deep as red wine, and the petals were soft and lustrous, as if they were the cheeks of a young girl budding in the morning dew.
"For you!"
Hao Anqi covered her red lips, her surprise evident on her face. She asked why he had thought to give her flowers. Shen Yan grinned and said that he felt something was missing since he had never given his girlfriend flowers before.
"Hee hee! I love them."
Hao Anqi leaned in toward the petals and sniffed; the fragrance was rich and mellow, making one intoxicated by it.
She was quite happy that her little boyfriend occasionally provided little surprises.
About half an hour passed, and the two arrived at an authentic Hangzhou-style restaurant in the Binjiang District. The location was somewhat remote, but the environment was refreshing; the overall decor was full of the simple and unadorned charm of Jiangnan Chinese style, as if one had traveled back to an ancient Jiangnan water town.
Without a word, Hao Anqi first took out her camera to record it.
After looking at the menu, Shen Yan ordered Dongpo pork, Longjing shrimp, lotus leaf steamed pork, and Sister Song's fish soup—all dishes Hao Anqi was most eager to taste.
The price was acceptable, totaling 128 yuan.
Once the dishes were served, that unique aroma flowed into the nose like a clear spring, instantly invigorating the spirit. The taste experience was even more unparalleled; every dish seemed to possess its own unique soul and personality, weaving a gorgeous and colorful feast for the senses on the tip of the tongue!
Mountains need not be high; they are famous if there is an immortal. Waters need not be deep; they are magical if there is a dragon.
Sure enough, those remote and inaccessible places often hide the most authentic and genuine delicacies.
"Handsome Yan, try this Dongpo pork; the meat is tender and succulent, fatty but not greasy, it's especially delicious." Hao Anqi was deeply captivated on the spot and hurriedly picked up a piece of meat and put it into Shen Yan's bowl.
"And this shrimp, it's fresh, tender, and juicy. This trip was truly worth it."
Seeing her so happy, the corners of Shen Yan's mouth lifted involuntarily, and he said, "Eat slowly, I'll bring you again when I have time."
"Mm-hmm!"
After enjoying the food, the two arrived at the Binjiang Pier Water Tourism Service Center, bought tickets, and boarded a cruise ship. The cruise ship had three levels, each equipped with comfortable seats and observation decks. A trip took nearly an hour, passing by Binjiang Pier, the Qiantang River Bridge, the Olympic Sports Center, and the City Balcony, allowing for an all-around appreciation of the beautiful scenery on both sides of the Qiantang River.
The two went straight to the third level. Hao Anqi stood on the observation deck, enthusiastically admiring the various beautiful sights around them. The neon lights of the vastly different buildings flickered, reflecting off the river surface in a riot of colors, making it incredibly beautiful.
From time to time, she used her camera to record this beautiful moment. The evening breeze blew gently, and her hair drifted lightly.
"Shuai Yan, the night view of the Qiantang River is really beautiful."
"As long as you like it!"
Shen Yan embraced her from behind, resting his chin on her delicate, soft shoulders, and sniffed the fragrant scent in her hair.
For some reason, girls always smelled good, and he never grew tired of it no matter how much he smelled it.
Hao Anqi really enjoyed this intimate posture with her little boyfriend; her sense of security was overflowing, and she couldn't muster the slightest bit of resistance.
The men and women around them, especially the singletons, only felt a wave of the sour stench of love rushing toward them, instantly suffering ten thousand points of critical damage.
In this instant, they seemed to understand what true love was.
An hour passed quietly. After getting off the cruise ship, Hao Anqi was still not quite satisfied and asked Shen Yan what they were going to do next.
Shen Yan had already planned for this and said with a smile, "How about we go buy some snacks and then I take you camping on the mountain to watch the sunrise?"
"Okay, okay!" Hao Anqi was instantly full of pleasant surprise.
Honestly, university life was even more wonderful than she had imagined. Having someone she liked and living a free and unfettered life was an unprecedentedly pleasant experience.
After buying various fruits and snacks at the supermarket, Shen Yan drove straight to Anding Mountain in Fuyang, Hangzhou. It is said that this mountain road leads directly to the summit. Overlooking the entire city from the top is breathtaking, and there is a dedicated camping site on the mountain, which can be called a prime holy land for watching the sunrise.
After an hour's drive and eighteen bends, the two finally reached their destination. Standing on the observation deck and overlooking the colorful city night view from the summit was another unique visual experience.
Looking out, the city night view was like a gorgeous and colorful scroll; the brightly lit high-rise buildings and the flickering, hazy neon lights complemented each other. The streets were filled with heavy traffic and weaving crowds, like flowing ribbons of color. The distant lake sparkled, reflecting the starry sky and the lights on the shore, dreamlike and illusory.
For a moment, both of them were a bit dazed.
To reach the peak and see all the other mountains as small—it was probably nothing more than this.
With such beautiful scenery, this trip was finally not in vain.
After admiring the scenery, Shen Yan took out the tent, sleeping bags, lights, blankets, and other camping supplies he had prepared in advance from the trunk. He quickly set up the tent on the lawn, and the two lay inside comfortably.
Hao Anqi did a flurry of operations on her phone, posting everything she had just seen and heard onto her social media, and then, like a cute koala, she snuggled tightly into Shen Yan's warm and broad embrace.
"Shuai Yan, I had so much fun today."
Shen Yan touched her little head and said that as long as she was happy, he would take her out to play more often when he had time in the future. Hao Anqi nodded her little head repeatedly; in fact, she wasn't that greedy for play, she just wanted to stay with Shen Yan a little longer.
At ten o'clock at night, everything was silent. The pitch-black night sky shrouded the earth like a huge piece of black velvet. It was late autumn, and the chill on the mountain was even worse, as if it could pierce through clothes and reach the bone marrow. The wind blew gently, and the leaves rustled, as if whispering some secret. The air was filled with a damp scent, mixed with the smell of soil and grass.
In this silent mountain night, everything seemed so quiet and mysterious.
Hao Anqi, who had no sleepiness at all, adhered to the principle of 'if I can't sleep, you can't sleep either' and insisted on dragging Shen Yan to chat. Shen Yan felt guilty toward Hao Anqi and was completely compliant.
"Then how about I imitate a pig oinking for you?"
Hao Anqi: "Okay, okay!"
Shen Yan: "Okay, okay!"
???
"Didn't you say you were going to imitate a pig? Why are you repeating what I said?"
At first, Hao Anqi hadn't reacted, but upon hearing Shen Yan's laughter, she suddenly realized. Then, her little mouth puffed up in anger, and she beat Shen Yan's chest with her pink fists in protest.
Of course, the force was about the same as a tickle; it had no lethality to speak of.
"Why are you so bad, actually calling me a pig."
"Hehe! Just a joke!"
Then Shen Yan said again: "If a tortoise and a hare have a race, and they hire a pig as the referee, who do you guess will win?"
Hao Anqi said the tortoise would win, and Shen Yan remarked, "You really are an impartial referee."
"Fine, you tricked me again." Hao Anqi giggled, unable to summon even a shred of anger.
