Chapter 157: Being Called a Green Tea Bitch
(Every short story is a foreshadowing!)
In early December, the ginkgo trees on campus swayed gracefully in the breeze, fluttering as withered yellow leaves drifted slowly from the branches, like golden butterflies dancing in the air.
After two classes ended, the students turned toward their next classroom destination, facing the warm sun, and the narrow campus paths became bustling with noise once again.
After standing up, Shen Yan realized that Wu Yue'er's leg injury was much more serious than he had imagined; even after resting for two days, she was still limping when she walked.
She looked just like a clumsy little duck, making one unable to help but want to laugh.
So he asked with concern, "How did you get here this morning like this?"
"Shanni gave me a ride!" Wu Yue'er pouted, looking aggrieved.
That cute expression made Lin Yang's little heart thump wildly; he was dying, simply dying—once the usually domineering Huniu showed a feminine side, the lethality was off the charts.
If there was no opportunity, then he would create one himself.
He stepped forward directly, "Yue'er, I rode my e-scooter here, I can give you a ride on the way."
Wu Yue'er looked at Shen Yan, and Shen Yan said, "Just let Lao Lin take you. I drove here today, and I'm too lazy to move the car for such a short distance."
Lin Yang was so excited inside that he wished he could kowtow to Shen Yan right there on the spot; what was a good brother? This was it!
"Then I'll trouble you, Lin Yang."
This was his first time in close contact with the goddess; with an excited heart and trembling hands, Lin Yang walked with a vigorous, spirited stride.
Just as they walked out of the teaching building, they saw a round-faced girl pop out from some unknown corner.
Her eyes were bloodshot as if they were about to drip blood, her chest heaved violently, and she pointed a trembling finger directly at Wu Yue'er, cursing loudly: "You green tea bitch, how can you be so shameless as to seduce my boyfriend!"
"You are at least a person who has received higher education; did your parents not teach you how to conduct yourself? Did they not tell you what a moral bottom line is?"
The round-faced girl grew angrier as she spoke, her chest heaving violently as if she were about to be swallowed by her own rage.
Silence!
The scene was deathly silent, so quiet you could almost hear a pin drop.
Everyone focused their attention there.
"Why are you just standing there? Someone is scolding you." Watching the stunned Wu Yue'er, Shen Yan nudged her arm.
Wu Yue'er snapped out of her daze, looked the uninvited guest up and down, and asked, "Who are you? Did you mistake me for someone else?"
"Aren't you Wu Yue'er? With that vixen face of yours, how could I possibly mistake you for someone else?" The round-faced girl was so angry her eyes were wide with rage.
Fine! Confirmed it wasn't a case of mistaken identity.
Immediately, the toughness in Wu Yue'er's bones seeped out; she took a step forward and began to scold from a position of superiority: "You say I seduced your boyfriend? You look like a car jack yourself, so stop looking at everyone like they're a spare tire, okay?"
"Pfft!"
Many people at the scene couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.
In truth, the round-faced girl was just a bit round and plump; at 1.6 meters tall, she looked to be at most 130 pounds, nowhere near the level of a car jack.
But the physical difference between the two was too great—one was 1.8 meters tall, slim, and shapely—and in the same field of vision, the disparity was obvious.
Shen Yan rubbed his nose; Huniu's ability to scold people was truly remarkable.
It didn't cause much physical damage, but the insult was extremely potent.
The round-faced girl's flushed little face looked like she was about to pass out from anger.
"Huff... huff..."
The round-faced girl took a few deep, ragged breaths, said "fine, fine, fine" several times, and then questioned: "My name is Li Yan. It doesn't matter if you don't know me, but you must know Zhang Fan from the Dance Club, right? He is my boyfriend. Don't think I don't know that you two have been very close lately. Now he wants to break up with me; do you dare say it isn't because of you?"
The crowd present immediately became interested, not expecting there to be such a story behind it.
Who was Zhang Fan? Wu Yue'er couldn't recall for a moment, but once the Dance Club was mentioned, she had a rough guess, so she said: "I know you have a straight gut, but you shouldn't be pulling things out of your mouth."
"I advise you to hurry up and install a GPS to figure out your own positioning."
"You treat him like a treasure, but to me, he's just a blade of grass. Seducing him? Don't even go there; no matter how complex your facial features are, they can't hide your simple-minded intelligence."
The string of retorts sounded like a rhythmic chant, mixed with a thick Northeastern accent; she scolded without using a single dirty word, yet every sentence hit home, making everyone present laugh repeatedly.
Good heavens!
That little mouth must have been smeared with honey to be so articulate.
Even Zhu Baoping, a genuine Northeastern man, was left dumbfounded and felt inferior.
"You... you..." Li Yan clutched her chest, panting like an ox, looking as if she might faint at any moment.
Wu Yue'er knew when to stop: "Alright, stop with the 'you, you, you.' I have class in a bit and don't have time to bicker with you; go do whatever you need to do."
"And as for that guy named Zhang Fan, I really don't know him well."
After saying this, under the admiring gazes of the crowd, she walked away with her head held high.
"Yue'er, slow down, I'll give you a ride!" Lin Yang hurriedly got on his e-scooter and chased after her.
"No need, I'm perfectly capable of walking."
Li Yan, having been dumped and then blasted like that, finally broke down completely, sat down on the ground, and began to wail loudly.
"Fan, how can I live without you..."
That miserable crying... it truly made the onlookers sad and the listeners weep.
On the other side, after the argument, Wu Yue'er let out a soft breath. The warm sun, like water, poured over her, and her mood brightened along with it; it seemed her foot injury was already half-healed as she walked gracefully down the road.
Shen Yan gave her a thumbs up, "As expected of Sister Yue, your arguing skills are top-notch."
Wu Yue'er tossed her long hair and said smugly: "That's right, if I hadn't held back, I definitely would have scolded that little round face until she cried."
In truth, she didn't want to appear too vulgar in front of Shen Yan, but having been insulted like that, she wouldn't be Wu Yue'er if she didn't fight back.
Yu Youwei and a group of other students who had witnessed the whole process crowded around; some praised Wu Yue'er's dashing demeanor, some envied her eloquence, and others asked for advice on how to scold people so fluently without using a single dirty word.
As a high-achieving student with quality and cultivation, one might choose not to argue, but one must know how to; in case someone bullied them one day, they wouldn't be left without the ability to fight back.
As for Li Yan's words, they didn't believe even a punctuation mark of it; a Most Beautiful School Beauty, even if she were blind, wouldn't go around seducing someone else's boyfriend.
Three-legged toads are hard to find, but two-legged men are everywhere.
Why bother!
Just when everyone thought this matter had passed, the siren of a fire truck suddenly rang through the campus.
