Chapter 223: Sense of Crisis
"There's such a good thing?"
Hearing this, Wu Yue'er immediately perked up, her eyes darting around rapidly.
Clearly, she was already cooking up some little schemes.
At this moment, Wu Yue'er felt incredibly annoyed; why had she agreed to Chen Shanni's invitation to go to Hengdian? Otherwise, she could have monopolized Shen Yan for three days all to herself, eating, drinking, and having a carefree, wonderful time.
Wouldn't that be marvelous!
She wondered if she should just find an excuse to get out of it.
But all these days, Wu Yue'er had seen how much Chen Shanni, that goody-two-shoes, longed for this trip; every time the subject came up, those sparkling, expectant eyes were impossible to ignore.
If she said she wasn't going now, the goody-two-shoes would surely be incredibly disappointed and sad.
Recalling how Chen Shanni had accepted her without hesitation when she first proposed moving out of the dormitory, and even refused to charge any rent.
Wu Yue'er had always kept this kindness in her heart.
One still shouldn't be too selfish.
After thinking it over, Wu Yue'er finally made her choice and said in a soft, sweet voice, "Hubby, how about you come with us to Hengdian for fun?"
"Hengdian?" Shen Yan was slightly stunned.
He had naturally long heard of this cradle and holy land for filming movies and television works.
In fact, there were hundreds of film studios in China, and the most famous and largest among them was none other than Jinhua Hengdian World Studios.
Anyway, since he was free, going out for some fun wouldn't be bad.
"Who all is going?" Shen Yan asked casually.
As soon as Wu Yue'er heard this, she knew there was a chance, and quickly said, "I originally wanted to call Mingqing and Qiqi, but they have limited budgets and can't go. Lin Yang wanted to go, but I rejected him."
"In the end, it's just me, Shanni, and Youwei!"
Shen Yan said, "Alright then, you go and tell them first."
Wu Yue'er happily agreed.
When the two women learned that Shen Yan would be joining them, they were naturally overjoyed; they always felt that with Shen Yan there, it was like having a backbone.
They felt indescribably secure and relaxed.
Yu Youwei even specifically created a QQ group, naming it "Hengdian Four-Person Trip".
"Ding-dong!"
"Ding-dong!"
Just as Shen Yan was continuing his battle in Summoner's Rift, his phone rang several times in a row.
He opened it to take a look.
There were over a dozen friend requests, as well as messages from some middle and high school classmates.
The content was much the same, all asking if the person dancing the square dance on the news was him.
There weren't even any notes; Shen Yan couldn't remember who these people were at all, and the previous chat histories were completely empty.
He simply ignored them!
One of the friend requests was from his high school class monitor, Xu Lin, though it was a secondary account; after all, his main account had long been added to his blacklist.
The verification message was: I am Xu Lin's secondary account, I have something to discuss, please accept.
He ignored that as well!
The day before New Year's Day.
The entire school was shrouded in a thick holiday atmosphere; it was obvious that the students, usually focused on their studies, were now somewhat restless, discussing with each other how to spend this rare three-day holiday.
For example, those students who were strapped for cash or honest and steady would either stay home or hole up in their dorms; those students who lived in hardship would make full use of this opportunity to find a part-time job, exercising their abilities while also lightening the burden on their families.
And the remaining students were undoubtedly the most active and excited; they were gleefully showing off to those around them where they were about to go for fun.
After the morning classes ended, Shen Yan drove to the entrance of Communication University of China to pick up Hao Anqi.
Under the golden sunlight, Hao Anqi was still dressed youthfully and beautifully, wearing a short blue down jacket, a floral mid-length skirt on her lower body, paired with versatile shoes, and her warm clothing underneath was quite adequate.
She was pulling a black suitcase in her hand.
The photography class had no afternoon lessons, so she could go home half a day early.
The two ate something simple outside the school, and at 12:30, Shen Yan dropped Hao Anqi off at the bus station.
Before entering the station, Hao Anqi hugged Shen Yan and said with a hint of apology, "I can't accompany you on the trip this time, don't be angry, okay?"
"Kiss me once, otherwise this anger won't go away." Shen Yan pointed to his cheek.
Hao Anqi's eyes were as rippling as autumn water, charming and moving; she stood on tiptoe and kissed Shen Yan hard on the face twice, and Shen Yan returned the favor twofold.
This made Hao Anqi pout coquettishly, and then she asked Shen Yan how he planned to spend New Year's Day.
Shen Yan said triumphantly, "My schedule is full. Since you aren't accompanying me, several great beauties in my class are scrambling to invite me to go to Hengdian for fun."
"Ah? You agreed?" Hao Anqi pouted, somewhat unhappy.
"You wouldn't be looking for a mistress while I'm away, would you?"
Shen Yan kissed her on the face and said with a wicked smile, "Not necessarily, you know how those things go."
"I know your head! You are not allowed to mess around."
Hearing this, although she knew the possibility was slim, Hao Anqi still felt a sense of crisis for no reason.
She stepped forward and hugged Shen Yan tightly, suddenly not wanting to leave.
Shen Yan stroked her back and comforted her softly, "Be good, I was just making a joke." Hao Anqi raised her head, her pretty face carrying a trace of grievance.
"Then you aren't allowed to have anything with them?"
"They all know you're my girlfriend, so just think about it, it's impossible."
Hao Anqi certainly knew it was unlikely; her little boyfriend had always acted openly and honestly, never hiding or avoiding their relationship, and had even once proactively invited her to go to Hangzhou University to dance the square dance.
If he really had any ulterior motives, how could he have so generously introduced her to the friends around him.
The reason she was so nervous was simply because Hao Anqi cared too much about Shen Yan, fearing that one day Shen Yan would fall for someone else and cast her aside, ignoring her completely.
"Promise me, no matter what happens in the future, you won't abandon me?" Hao Anqi looked at Shen Yan with eager, expectant eyes.
Shen Yan nodded solemnly and said in a deep voice, "I definitely won't; I'm just afraid that one day I'll make you angry, and you'll just give me the cold shoulder and vanish without a trace."
Shen Yan meant these words from the bottom of his heart.
Some things can be hidden for a while, but not for a lifetime; there was a chance that things with Wu Yue'er could blow up at any moment, it was only a matter of time.
He only hoped that day would never come.
"Hee hee! I won't! I'm very easygoing; if you buy me something delicious, you can coax me back to good spirits." A brilliant smile bloomed on Hao Anqi's face.
Having received his promise, her mood was as open and clear as the sky, and she completely failed to hear the subtext in Shen Yan's words.
The two of them lingered affectionately at the station entrance for a while, and as the departure time neared, Hao Anqi finally waved goodbye with great reluctance and kissed Shen Yan on the face twice.
She told Shen Yan to remember to miss her.
After seeing Hao Anqi off, it was exactly one o'clock in the afternoon, and Shen Yan turned his car around and headed back to Hangzhou University.
