At dusk, Shen Yan arrived in Hangzhou from Sanya and rushed to the Danqingyuan Residential Complex immediately.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

Not long after he knocked, Chen Shanni opened the door.

She was wearing a grey apron, clearly in the middle of cooking.

He buried his face in her hair and sniffed gently.

Outside, the cold wind was biting, but inside the room, it was another world—warm as spring and very pleasant. Because of this, Chen Shanni wasn't dressed heavily; she wore a purple, small-fragrance-style knit sweater on her upper body, making her look exceptionally elegant and charming.

"I'm begging you, okay? Please save Yezi. She's my only sister; I can't watch her die."

"Are you sure you won't hold it against me later? I don't want to lose you," Shen Yan asked in a deep voice.

"I won't. I'm already deep in the love trap you've woven; I can't escape, and I don't want to. No matter what happens, I'm stuck with you for the rest of my life."

Hearing the man finally relent, Chen Shanni couldn't help but beam with joy and hurriedly gave her assurance.

But fearing that things might develop in an uncontrollable direction, she added a Warning: "However, you are not allowed to develop feelings for Yezi, and you must not let Yezi fall for you. Yezi has such good conditions; she could easily find a man who is wholeheartedly devoted to her."

How could Shen Yan not understand what she meant? It was just a pity that some things were beyond his control.
