Chapter 90: Meeting Fang Xiang Again

~7 min read 1,245 words

After finishing a dull and tedious morning of classes, Shen Yan grabbed a quick bite at the cafeteria, then immediately hopped on his e-scooter and sped back to the Danqingyuan Residential Complex like a gust of wind to switch to his BMW, preparing to head out and wander around.

Having wandered around the school yesterday to no avail, he found it truly difficult to locate a factory that met his requirements, so today Shen Yan prepared to travel further afield to try his luck.

Just as he drove out of the residential complex, he saw Chen Shanni riding a bicycle; a gentle breeze brushed her face, her hair swaying with the wind, and a ray of sunlight fell softly upon her, serene and beautiful. Through the open car window, Chen Shanni caught sight of Shen Yan and hurriedly called out to him.

"Shanni, is something the matter?"

Chen Shanni's pretty face flushed slightly; this was the first time Shen Yan had addressed her so intimately, and she wondered if he finally considered her a friend. Chen Shanni raised her hand to elegantly tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and, feigning composure, said, "Thank you for your help last night. I bought a bottle of car perfume; I hope you like it."

As she spoke, Chen Shanni took a square, transparent glass bottle from her backpack, the deep purple liquid inside flowing slowly and rippling in circles.

"Then I shall accept it without false modesty; it's just the thing to freshen up the car," Shen Yan said with a slight smile.

"Mm! As long as you like it."

The two did not exchange much more; watching the black car body gradually pull away, Chen Shanni smiled faintly and silently noted down the license plate number.

Shen Yan did not know much about car perfume, but he noticed the two large characters "Dragon Wave" engraved on the bottle. A scent of lavender wafted over, fresh and elegant, giving one a refreshed and invigorated feeling.

It was the type he liked.

Without paying it much mind, Shen Yan placed the perfume directly into the armrest console.

As a famous historical and cultural city in China, Hangzhou is also an economically developed city with a jurisdiction area of 16,000 square kilometers and a population of approximately 10 million. It administers ten districts, among which the Xiaoshan District and Yuhang District have the most garment factories. The clothing produced by these factories is of high quality and affordable, and is deeply loved by consumers.

After inquiring at various agencies in the Xihu District to no avail, Shen Yan drove straight to the Yuhang District, following the principle of proximity. The Yuhang District is a rapidly developing area in Hangzhou City, possessing a good natural and human environment, such as the Baoshou Mountain Scenic Area, Nanhu Park, and Tangqi Ancient Town, making it an important tourist region in Hangzhou.

In fact, what Shen Yan preferred most was to directly take over the operation of a garment factory, rather than starting from scratch, which would be too troublesome and time-consuming.

Wandering until dusk, Shen Yan walked out of a real estate agency, still returning empty-handed. Just as he was preparing to head home, a voice, hesitant yet mixed with a hint of surprise, sounded abruptly in his ear.

"Mr. Shen?"

Shen Yan subconsciously turned his head to look, only to see Fang Xiang, that female saleswoman from Weilan Zhidu, standing prettily at the entrance of a nearby convenience store, holding a bag of bread.

He had a deep impression of Fang Xiang. When they first met, Fang Xiang's face was lightly powdered, fresh and elegant, bright and moving like a lotus rising from the water. She wore a grey hip-hugging skirt with a sky-blue shirt tucked in, perfectly outlining the graceful curves of her peach-like hips, and her beautiful legs looked even longer and straighter against the backdrop of black silk, stirring up endless reverie.

It was just that she was a bit naive; faced with a commission within reach, she actually thought his purchase of the property was too rash and advised him to consider it more carefully. Such a naive and straightforward salesperson was truly rare.

However, meeting again, Fang Xiang seemed like a completely different person. She was dressed in a sky-blue short-sleeved work shirt and matching work trousers, her face bare, her round, chubby face carrying a hint of baby fat, like a Barbie doll that had walked out of a comic book. Although still beautiful and moving, she now possessed a sense of simplicity and innocence.

"It really is you, Mr. Shen!"

After seeing Shen Yan's face clearly, Fang Xiang's face was filled with surprise, and she ran over like a light butterfly.

Shen Yan smiled lightly and said, "What a coincidence! Do you live around here?"

Fang Xiang smiled and said, "Yes! I've always lived around here. Before, when I went to Weilan..."

Perhaps recalling an unpleasant memory, Fang Xiang's words came to an abrupt halt. She pinched the corner of her shirt, and her face, with its hint of baby fat, flushed with a rosy glow due to embarrassment.

Seeing this, Shen Yan did not mind and instead changed the subject, asking, "Since you live nearby, have you heard of any garment factories that have the intention of transferring ownership?"

"Huh?" Fang Xiang was stunned by the sudden question, but then she was overjoyed and said, "I actually do know about this. I'm working at a garment factory nearby right now. The boss is planning to develop in Shenzhen and is currently thinking about transferring the factory."

Man proposes, God disposes.

He did not expect an unintentional question to yield an unexpected harvest. Shen Yan couldn't help but become interested. Upon learning that the factory was 1,200 square meters, he was secretly delighted and said to Fang Xiang, "Do you have time now? I'll treat you to a meal, and you can tell me more about the factory."

Fang Xiang readily agreed, but she only had one hour, as she had to work the night shift at seven o'clock and couldn't go too far, so she led Shen Yan to a Sichuan restaurant by the side of the road.

In this corner of the bustling city, surrounded by factories, most of the people eating at the Sichuan restaurant were workers in work uniforms.

The Sichuan restaurant was not large, occupying two storefronts. The restaurant's decor was simple and plain, the walls slightly yellowed, revealing the traces of time. The tables and chairs were arranged somewhat crowdedly, but this did not affect the workers from eating heartily to satisfy their hunger.

Shen Yan ordered two dishes and a soup: shredded pork with garlic sauce, dry-fried green beans, and vegetable and tofu soup. The two chatted while eating, with Shen Yan doing most of the asking.

In fact, Fang Xiang had only been at Juyuan Clothing for a week and didn't know much. She had accidentally overheard the boss on the phone saying he intended to return to Shenzhen for development, but he hadn't made up his mind yet.

The factory had a total area of 1,200 square meters and currently had 110 employees. The workshop was divided into five sections: the cutting workshop, production workshop, finishing workshop, warehouse, and sampling workshop. Unlike those processing plants and small workshops, Juyuan Garment Factory was fully equipped and was a clothing factory with true independent production capabilities.
