Chapter 100: Touring the Grand Manor
After taking the Castle's elevator to the third floor, Bai Shuruo finally relaxed a little.
But she was still angry inside, so she remained silent.
The third-floor corridor was covered with a thick carpet, feeling soft and plush underfoot.
Han Yangting led her to the room at the end of the corridor; this room had a circular balcony, and standing on it, one could see most of the Castle Manor.
Bai Shuruo stood blankly on the balcony, as if she were in a dream.
She pinched herself hard; it hurt.
After Han Yangting put away the luggage, he hugged her from behind, but she secretly broke free.
"Why are you throwing a tantrum like a child?" Han Yangting asked.
Bai Shuruo turned around, her little expression very dissatisfied as she said, "Brother Han has been lying to me all along. Your family background is so good, yet you lied to me, saying you came from an ordinary family."
Han Yangting pulled her in front of him and said, equally aggrieved, "I never said those things; all of this is just your own imagination."
"But you work in construction, don't you?"
"That entire plot of land is mine."
"..." She felt even more aggrieved: "Brother Han treated me like a fool, spinning me around in circles."
Han Yangting couldn't help but laugh: "You aren't a fool, you're just muddled. Think about it yourself, did I ever say I was poor? Was the construction foreman thing something you assumed yourself?"
Bai Shuruo thought about it carefully; he truly had never said such things.
He had even once taken out a black bank card and given it to her, telling her to spend as she pleased.
Yet she was still unhappy, feeling like a fool.
Han Yangting, however, also put on an aggrieved look: "Ruoruo, don't you think that the reason you never understood my family background is because you didn't care about me and had no interest in getting to know me?"
"I..." Alright, it was his turn to be the aggrieved one.
"Actually, in all the time we've known each other, you've had many, many opportunities to learn about me, haven't you? But you rarely asked about my family; you didn't care about me at all!"
Bai Shuruo: "..."
He pulled her into his arms again, then said with a magnanimous air: "Alright Ruoruo, I don't blame you. There is plenty of time; we can slowly get to know each other deeply in the future."
She was pulled into his embrace, confused, not knowing how it ended up being her fault in the end.
But she had no way to argue.
She had no choice but to ask him: "Brother Han, you have such a beautiful home, your family even has a private jet, and your family background is so good—can't you find a wife in Beishi?"
"I've already said, I must marry you because this is my family's promise, and..." He hugged her and said, "I also like you."
She didn't believe it: "What does Brother Han like about me? I am neither beautiful, nor smart, nor do I have any personal charm, and I haven't even seen much of the world."
He pinched her little cheek: "Naturally, I like everything about you, from body to soul."
At that moment, she was suddenly somewhat moved.
On this beautiful Castle balcony, she and he leaned against each other, and he said he liked her.
Although she didn't know how long he could like her, this was already a little girl's ultimate dream: after growing up, she married a prince and moved into a castle.
"Ruoruo, do you like this home?" Han Yangting asked.
This Manor was too big, and she had only caught a glimpse of a corner of it, so she said, "Can I go around and look?"
"Sure, I'll take you around for a walk."
Han Yangting led Bai Shuruo to start exploring Castle No. 1 first.
The more Bai Shuruo explored, the more excited she became, taking photos as she went; sometimes, when she saw a good angle, she would even ask Han Yangting to take photos for her.
Han Yangting was helpless; she was treating herself like a tourist, not realizing at all that she was also a part of this home.
After finishing Castle No. 1, they went to the garden outside.
There were actually several sightseeing carts inside the Castle, mainly for the convenience of the owners' comings and goings, and there were even dedicated drivers.
Han Yangting led Bai Shuruo onto one of them; he didn't let the butler drive, but drove it himself, so as not to make Bai Shuruo feel uncomfortable.
It was April, and the weather in Beishi wasn't cold; the peach blossoms and apricot blossoms were all in bloom. There was a peach blossom forest in the Manor, and upon seeing it, Bai Shuruo wanted to get down to take photos again.
When they reached the golf course, she asked Han Yangting: "Brother Han, how do you play golf?"
Han Yangting then led her to play golf.
But she had no patience, and after playing for a while, she wanted to go to the next place.
"Brother Han, is this Manor really not rented by you? Is it really your family's?" She still felt as if she were in a dream.
Han Yangting couldn't help but laugh: "Do you need me to get the property deed for you to see?"
"No, no need." A thought suddenly popped into Bai Shuruo's mind: if she and Han Yangting divorced, how much property could she get?
As soon as she thought of this, she couldn't help but shake her head; she couldn't think about these things.
Seeing her expression go from smiling to serious, Han Yangting couldn't help but hold her and ask: "Ruoruo, what are you thinking about?"
Bai Shuruo couldn't help but ask: "Brother Han, you're so rich, why didn't you sign a prenuptial agreement with me back then?"
Han Yangting's smile froze: "What is that little head of yours thinking about again? Do you think my marriage to you is just for fun?"
Bai Shuruo's eyelashes flickered, and she stammered: "No."
At the same time, she thought, he really is a man who keeps his word.
It is said that the wealthier a great family is, the more they value family honor.
But he was also truly good to her.
There was also a rockery in the Manor; they had been walking there for a while when they saw another sightseeing cart driving over.
Sitting in the cart was a man in his fifties, whose clothing and accessories looked extraordinary, and his hair was combed until it was slick and shiny.
Han Yangting said to Bai Shuruo: "That is my second uncle, Han Chunqiu, who lives in Number Two Castle."
Before long, Second Uncle's car arrived in front of them, and Second Uncle said with a beaming smile, "Yangting is back today? Oh? Is this your bride? Why haven't you brought her over to our side to sit for a while?"
Bai Shuruo always felt that although this Second Uncle looked jolly on the surface, he was actually a smiling tiger.
She was just that sensitive.
So she looked at Han Yangting.
Han Yangting was always inscrutable in front of her, but in front of this Second Uncle, he was even harder to read; on the surface he was polite, but in reality, he had cooled by several degrees.
"Second Uncle is quite well-informed. Ruoruo is new here, so I will take her to get familiar with the Manor first; once she is accustomed to it, I will take her over to your side to sit."
"Then you must be sure to come. Yesterday, Second Uncle even said, why is it that since Yangting got married, there hasn't even been a wedding ceremony? It's not as if our family can't afford it; how long has it been since your First Branch held a joyous event?"
Han Chunqiu said this while casting a glance at Bai Shuruo.
Bai Shuruo naturally understood; this Second Uncle was here to sow discord.
