Chapter 147: Bitten by a Little Wild Cat
The young couple chased each other around the lawn for a while, but Han Yangting admitted defeat first.
After all, he had just returned from the brink of death and his reserves were too depleted to recover his former strength all at once, so he sat down after running for a short while.
He beckoned to Bai Shuruo and said, "Ruoruo, come here, let me hold you."
Bai Shuruo sat down in front of him and said aggressively, "Didn't you say to let me bite you? Let me take a bite first."
He actually reached out his hand to her: "Where do you want to bite? It's up to you."
Bai Shuruo didn't stand on ceremony; she pulled his hand over and bit down hard on the webbing between his thumb and index finger, leaving several bloody tooth marks.
Han Yangting felt the pain, but he wasn't angry, only asking, "You really bit me?"
"Some love expert said that if you like someone, you have to leave a mark on them so that you can find them in the next life and be husband and wife with them again," Bai Shuruo said with a straight face.
Han Yangting laughed, then looked at her tenderly: "Do you want to be husband and wife with me in the next life too?"
"I do," Bai Shuruo said decisively.
Aside from him, she couldn't find anyone who treated her better than he did.
Even if she had liked someone else before, that was all in the past; she only wanted to cherish the present, so she wanted to be with him in the next life too, if there was such a thing as a next life.
Han Yangting held up his bitten hand and said, "In that case, I won't treat this wound; I'll let it get inflamed so the scar will be even more obvious, and it will be easier for you to find me in the next life."
Bai Shuruo hadn't actually had the heart to bite him hard, and now that she saw the mark, she felt a pang of heartache.
"Brother Han, why don't you put some medicine on it? Don't let it actually get infected."
Dinner in the evening.
The Han Family was sitting together for a meal for a rare occasion; even Old Master Han had come out.
Old Master Han had indeed been devastated in the beginning, but his health only slowly improved after he learned that Han Yangting had woken up; otherwise, he might not have made it through the year.
Just as they were eating, Ye Caiyue suddenly saw the bandage on Han Yangting's hand and couldn't help but ask, "Yangting, how did you hurt your hand?"
Han Yangting said while eating, "A little wild cat bit it."
Bai Shuruo kicked him under the table for talking nonsense.
Ye Caiyue looked very nervous: "Oh, being bitten by a wild cat is serious; I'm afraid it might be poisonous. You should get a rabies vaccine, otherwise I'm worried that later on..."
Han Yangting said, "It seems I should get a few shots."
Bai Shuruo kicked him again.
Ye Caiyue said, "Then are you going to the hospital yourself, or should they bring someone over to give it to you?"
Only then did Han Yangting say, "Mom, you don't need to worry about such a small matter. I know that wild cat; although she looks quite fierce, she isn't poisonous. I've been bitten by her many times already, and I'm perfectly fine."
Ye Caiyue then said, "Then you must be careful yourself; don't go through all the trouble of surviving a car accident only to end up falling to a wild cat."
Han Yangting laughed softly a few times, and Bai Shuruo kicked him again.
At night.
Han Yangting and Bai Shuruo were lying in bed.
Because it was summer and the windows were open, Han Yangting was wearing relatively short pajamas.
Bai Shuruo was on the bed checking his wounds.
It was impossible to recover so quickly from such a serious car accident.
So she checked him from head to toe.
The wound on the top of his head had already healed, and while a patch of hair hadn't grown back, his hair was thick so it wasn't obvious.
There were abrasions on his shoulders and wounds on his lower legs, but none were serious, and they had already healed during the time he was bedridden; now there were only faint scars, so it wasn't a big problem.
Seeing Bai Shuruo lying there checking his body, Han Yangting couldn't help but laugh and ask, "Ruoruo, what you should be checking most isn't these."
"What... what is it?" Bai Shuruo had already guessed what he wanted to say.
Han Yangting pulled her into his arms and said, "What you should be checking most is whether I'm still capable in that regard."
Bai Shuruo blushed, "I'm not very concerned about that."
Han Yangting stroked her face and whispered, "Ruoruo, let's have a child. If I'm not by your side in the future, you won't be left helpless."
"A child..." Bai Shuruo had actually thought about this question while Han Yangting was in a coma.
What she worried about most was him leaving, the Han Family having no successors, and Han Yangting's excellent genes going to waste.
She had even thought about artificial insemination to have Han Yangting's child and raising the child herself; she wouldn't remarry anyway.
But later, reason prevailed; a child without a father, even if born into great wealth, what would she explain when the child asked who their father was in the future?
"Ruoruo, what are you thinking about? You don't want to? It's okay, there's plenty of time." Han Yangting didn't force her either.
But Bai Shuruo chuckled slyly: "As for that... it depends on your ability."
"Really?"
"Of course."
Han Yangting then began to demonstrate his ability.
One week later, a hotel in Beishi.
There was a cocktail party here today, and all the influential people in Beishi had come; there were also quite a few reporters at the scene.
A few reporters were discussing on the side:
"Han Yangting from the Han Family will be coming today, right?"
"Definitely, I've seen the guest list, his name is on it."
"Tell me, to what extent has he recovered after his injury?"
"Who knows? Having suffered such a major injury, he certainly won't be as good as before. I wonder if he can make it through this whole party."
Seeing the reporters discussing, several guests holding red wine bottles also began to talk.
"Han Yangting is truly lucky, and capable too; such a serious car accident, he managed to turn it into a power play."
"Indeed, that Second Branch of the Han Family won't have a chance to come out anymore; they say the whole family immigrated to Malaysia."
"It's good that they went there; at least there are many Chinese people."
"Is that Han Yangting? He's here!"
The guests looked toward the entrance and, sure enough, saw Han Yangting walking in with Bai Shuruo on his arm.
Seeing Han Yangting in this state, they all exclaimed: "Is this really someone who suffered a serious injury? He doesn't look like it to me."
"Actually, if you look closely, you can tell he is much thinner than before."
"The one beside him is his wife, right? She looks quite beautiful."
"Indeed, she is truly pretty; that evening gown suits her very well, and her figure is like a celebrity's."
"..."
Before coming, Bai Shuruo had felt that once she made an appearance like this, quite a few people would definitely be staring at her; after all, this was her first time attending this kind of business cocktail party with Han Yangting.
Today, she was wearing a white evening gown with lace trim, which set off her figure perfectly, making her look like a fairy who had just walked out of a forest.
"Brother Han, why is everyone looking at us?" Bai Shuruo asked, feeling a bit nervous, in a voice only Han Yangting could hear.
Han Yangting replied in a low voice: "Because you look beautiful."
"You're teasing me again."
As soon as the two of them arrived, someone in front came over with a wine glass to greet them.
"President Han, I heard you were injured before; are you doing alright now?"
