Chapter 204: Just Do It

~8 min read 1,580 words

"Then who did you hope it would be? If it weren't for me, you would have already been gang-raped by a few gold-diggers, do you know that?"

Ling Feng was stark naked. He asked, "Where are my clothes? Were they sent to be washed again?"

"They were washed, but they've already been cleaned and brought back. They're at the foot of the bed; put them on yourself."

Mou Lili exited the game and added, "I've already done all I could for you. I didn't sleep with you, nor did I take any nude photos of you. I hope you'll behave yourself and not be such a coward next time."

"Where was I being a coward?" Ling Feng asked, unconvinced.

"Not a coward? Then how could you get drunk so easily? Do you know your ID card was almost taken by someone?" Mou Lili said with disdain. "Isn't it just a breakup? It's as if all the women in the world have died. Is it worth acting like you're dying over it? I've seen plenty of your type at bars. Just last week, a man got drunk over a breakup and ended up being swindled. They found him yesterday, and he was missing a kidney."

Ling Feng shuddered.

Mou Lili was already dressed. She took out her lipstick to touch up, then smacked her lips together. This gesture looked exactly like a vixen.

"Goodbye, coward."

Ling Feng: "..."

North America.

Bai Shunan arrived on time for her appointment with another client.

As it turned out, just as Gu Yunting had expected, this client was quite cunning. The terms he proposed were heavily in his favor, and if there were any losses, Bai Shunan would have to bear them.

He mainly wanted to help Bai Shunan expand into the market in Africa.

Bai Shunan considered it for a long time and decided not to cooperate with him. When Wells saw that Bai Shunan refused to cooperate, he left without even paying for the meal; Bai Shunan ended up paying the bill.

Of course, Bai Shunan didn't care about that little bit of money.

Bai Shunan walked out of the restaurant, watching the myriad lights of the foreign street alone, looking at the streets full of yellow-haired, white-skinned people, and felt a bit dazed.

She wanted to return home.

Just as she was about to hail a taxi back to the hotel, a car stopped in front of her. The window rolled down, and it was Gu Yunting: "Get in."

This time, Bai Shunan did not decline. She pulled the car door open and got into the passenger seat.

"Have you been waiting outside the whole time?" Bai Shunan asked.

She didn't believe this was a chance encounter.

Gu Yunting said, "That's right. I was across from the restaurant the whole time. When I saw Wells come out, I drove the car over."

"Why?"

"To wait for you. I was worried you wouldn't be able to catch a taxi, worried you'd be swindled by bad people, and worried you were homesick."

Home?

Bai Shunan gave a bitter smile.

There was only her left at home anyway.

Gu Yunting said, "How about you come sit at my place? I mean my home in America; it's just me here."

Bai Shunan checked her watch; it was 8:00 PM, still early.

However, she also knew that if she went to his home, something might happen.

Gu Yunting looked at the rearview mirror while driving, seeing her beautiful face in it: "What, are you a coward? Or are you afraid of what I might do to you?"

"Do you want to do something with me?" Bai Shunan asked.

"To be honest, I do," Gu Yunting said.

Bai Shunan said, "Then let's do it."

"..." Gu Yunting thought he had misheard. He asked again: "Are you saying I can do something?"

"Why not? Just consider it a necessity."

Gu Yunting pressed hard on the accelerator, and the car sped off like a bolt of lightning.

Gu Yunting's house was a large villa. He hired people to clean it year-round, though he only came to stay for a short time each year.

After parking the car, Gu Yunting couldn't wait to open the door for Bai Shunan, then scooped her out of the seat and couldn't help but start kissing her.

This kiss felt as long as a century.

The lights of the villa garden cast upon their figures, soft and romantic.

After a long while, Gu Yunting let her go, looked at her, and said, "Nannan, say it—you love me."

"I don't love you. I just want to sleep with you to satisfy a physiological need," Bai Shunan said.

Gu Yunting couldn't care about that much. He picked her up and walked into the living room.

He intended to throw her onto the sofa and have her right there.

To hell with it; it was rare for her to give in, so he would take her first and worry about the rest later.

The living room lights were on.

He had assumed the housekeeper had turned them on, but as he walked into the house carrying Bai Shunan, he saw someone sitting on the sofa.

Long hair, a long dress, and a faint melancholy on her face.

Mo Wanqing!

The moment Mo Wanqing saw Gu Yunting enter, her face showed immense surprise. However, when she saw Bai Shunan in Gu Yunting's arms, her surprise vanished instantly.

Bai Shunan also saw Mo Wanqing, and she immediately struggled out of Gu Yunting's arms.

"Brother Ting!"

"Why are you here?"

"Didn't you say you were the only one at home?"

The three of them spoke almost simultaneously.

Bai Shunan added, "Since you are busy, I won't disturb you."

Just as she was about to turn away, Gu Yunting grabbed her hand and pulled her fiercely into his embrace.

He seemed to use all his strength, squeezing her until she could barely breathe.

Images of how miserably Gu Yunting used to love Mo Wanqing flashed through Bai Shunan's mind, and she couldn't help but feel a surge of anger: "Let go!"

"I won't let go. I don't know why she appeared here; I haven't been in contact with her for a long time."

Gu Yunting looked at Mo Wanqing, furious: "Why did you appear here? Speak!"

His voice was as loud as if he were interrogating a criminal.

Mo Wanqing shuddered in fright and said: "I, I have the key to your house. I, I just happened to have a performance nearby, so I, I wanted to come and see you. Brother Ting, why are you being so fierce to me?"

"Leave, get out of here right now!" Gu Yunting no longer showed any tenderness toward her, angrily driving Mo Wanqing away.

Mo Wanqing was stunned for a moment, tears rolling down: "Brother Ting, isn't she your former Secretary? You're ignoring me because you fell in love with her, right? Back then, you were the one who dumped me!"

"Leave my house key behind, then get out of here!" Gu Yunting said.

Mo Wanqing was streaming with tears.

"Brother Ting, I apologize to you for what happened back then. You used to cherish me so much, cared about me so much, but I went off to chase after empty fame and fortune, and in the end, I achieved nothing. I promise you, if you can come back to me, I will marry you—let's get married right now, can we? Didn't you always want to marry me before?"

Gu Yunting looked at her, and his grip on Bai Shunan loosened.

And in that split second of his distraction, Bai Shunan stomped hard on his foot, pushed him away, and ran toward the outside.

Gu Yunting winced in pain; this woman had stepped on his right foot the previous night, and now she had stepped on his left—both his feet were injured. By the time he recovered and chased after her, Bai Shunan's figure was nowhere to be seen outside.

Then Mo Wanqing ran over and threw herself into his arms: "Brother Ting."

She knew that Gu Yunting would definitely turn back; no matter how she treated him in the past, and no matter how long she left him, as long as she called out to him, he would turn back.

However, Gu Yunting pushed her away.

"Wanqing, you should go. I have no relationship with you anymore; don't come and pester me again."

"But you hesitated just now."

"I wasn't hesitating; I was just shocked at how base I was in the past. There was a girl right by my side who loved me so much, yet I was foolish enough to grovel at your feet. Go, I stopped loving you a long time ago."

Mo Wanqing cried, but no matter how she begged, Gu Yunting firmly made her leave.

And what Gu Yunting did not know was that Bai Shunan had actually heard it too.

She hadn't run far, but was standing behind a large tree in front of the main gate; she hid there and learned what followed.

Yet she did not turn back, but stood there in a daze.

She only came out after there was no more sound behind her, then called a taxi through a mobile app.

In the car, she changed her flight ticket back to the country to tomorrow morning.

Back home, Thursday, it was Bai Shuruo's turn to rest.

She could go see Xiaofeng again.
