Chapter 64: Are You Intentionally Trying to Keep Me From Being Full?
In truth, he had felt both physically and mentally exhausted during this period; appearing on programs and giving interviews were not things he wanted.
But whenever Mo Wanqing pleaded with him, his heart would soften.
"Does President Gu have any other instructions?" Bai Shunan's tone and attitude were strictly professional, neither servile nor overbearing, and devoid of any personal emotion. Furthermore, she was tall, and standing there, she possessed a powerful aura of a sophisticated woman.
Gu Yunting then said, "No, you may go and get busy."
Just as Bai Shunan went out, Gu Yunting's cell phone rang again; the caller ID displayed "My Girl."
He pressed answer, "Wanqing."
Mo Wanqing's voice on the other end of the line was very excited: "Yunting, that interview program has aired, have you watched it? My Weibo gained one hundred thousand followers. I'm planning it this way: first, build up the followers, so that when I hold concerts in the future, I won't have to worry about no one coming. My ultimate goal is still to play the violin."
Gu Yunting said, "Congratulations, your dream will eventually come true."
"Yunting, my birthday is coming up soon. My manager said that if you could host a birthday party for me and then show affection at the party, and then have some big influencers spread the video, pretending it was leaked by reporters on the scene, our popularity would rise even further."
For the first time, Gu Yunting did not agree immediately: "Wanqing, I am busy right now, I cannot agree to this for the time being, but I will make up for it with a birthday gift."
"Only a gift?" Mo Wanqing was very disappointed.
"Mm."
"Yunting, do you have something on your mind?" Mo Wanqing asked with concern.
"Company matters, I will handle them myself first," Gu Yunting said.
"But you should still consider the birthday party; this matter is very important to me," Mo Wanqing said again.
Gu Yunting ultimately could not bear to refuse, "Fine, I will consider it."
"You can just let your Secretary arrange it; isn't that Secretary of yours very capable? Yunting, you just need to make an appearance."
"Alright, I will." After hanging up the phone, Gu Yunting leaned back in his chair, feeling exhausted once again.
Shangmao Building.
Bai Shuruo had already been walking around the first floor with Han Yangting for quite a while.
She really couldn't hold it in anymore and asked, "Brother Han, why do we have to go shopping?"
Han Yangting said, "Don't you girls all like shopping?"
Although... but...
It was awkward for her to go shopping with him; it was not at all as relaxed as shopping with classmates.
Han Yangting bent his arm, signaling for Bai Shuruo to hook hers through it.
Uh... even more awkward.
Ever since he spoke his mind yesterday, he had been incessantly expressing his needs.
But thinking that hooking her arm through his to go shopping wasn't an excessive request, she had no choice but to comply.
She placed her small hand into the crook of his arm, and the two continued to walk through the mall.
It was just awkward no matter how you looked at it, like a celebrity red carpet; passersby all had to take two extra looks at them.
Fortunately, it was not the weekend, so there were not many people in the mall.
"Ruoruo, if there is anything you need to buy, you can go take a look," Han Yangting said.
Bai Shuruo naturally did not want to look; she usually compared prices three times over when buying things, and with him staring from the side, how could she possibly pick slowly?
She shook her head: "There is nothing I need to buy for the moment."
She had originally needed to buy skincare products, but he had already had Ali send a whole pile to her home, all of them big brands she recognized.
"Then what do you usually shop for when you come here?" Han Yangting asked again.
"Usually I look at clothes on the second floor, then go to the fourth floor to eat hot pot."
He raised his hand to check his watch; it was nearly 11 o'clock, so he said, "Fine, then let's go eat hot pot."
Today was not the weekend, and it was still morning, so there were few people at the hot pot restaurant. After they sat down, Han Yangting handed the tablet for ordering to her: "You are a regular, you order the food."
Bai Shuruo took it.
"Does Brother Han eat spicy food?"
"Anything is fine."
Bai Shuruo saw the newly launched river snail and duck feet soup base, and she immediately smiled, wanting to be a little mischievous.
"Brother Han, then I'll just order whatever."
Han Yangting's gaze remained on her face; he didn't look at the menu, only saying, "Whatever you order, I will eat; today I allow you to eat indulgently."
Who told her she hadn't been able to eat anything good while in Xijiang?
Bai Shuruo ordered the river snail and duck feet soup base, pig brains, pork offal, and all kinds of crispy meat, fried eggs, tripe...
These were all things she had never seen him eat at home.
Before long, the soup base was brought up, and a wave of sour, pungent river snail noodle scent wafted out.
Han Yangting's brows furrowed.
Bai Shuruo chuckled to herself.
You have needs all day long, now I have needs too.
"Brother Han, river snail noodle hot pot is very popular lately; young people all like to eat it," Bai Shuruo said.
Han Yangting did not speak.
Once the soup boiled, Bai Shuruo put the ingredients in to cook.
These were all ingredients that could be eaten after being blanched for a dozen seconds. She specifically fished out a piece of fried egg and a piece of tripe for Han Yangting and placed them in his bowl, "Brother Han, try it."
Han Yangting's face was ashen, and he did not move his chopsticks.
Bai Shuruo then ignored him and began to eat on her own.
After a good while, Han Yangting silently picked up his chopsticks and began to eat.
It stinks so much, I almost threw up.
Bai Shuruo glanced at him from the corner of her eye and snickered to herself again.
Hmph, I may not dare to resist you on the surface, but I'll stink you to death with snail rice noodles.
She ate this meal with great joy, eating until her belly was bulging, yet Han Yangting only moved his chopsticks a few times.
She even asked deliberately, "Brother Han, are you full? Is your appetite so small?"
"I can't eat any more," he stated truthfully.
Being able to sit here and accompany her was already the best he could do.
"Then what should we do? You'll go hungry."
His complexion turned even greener, "I'm going to pay the bill."
They didn't stroll for long; after coming out of the hot pot restaurant, Han Yangting drove her home.
Bai Shuruo had a habit of taking a nap, so she ran back to her room to sleep as soon as she got home.
She didn't know how long she had been asleep, but she turned over and draped her leg over the person beside her.
It was comfortable, but... how could there be an extra person on the bed?
She suddenly opened her eyes and saw Han Yangting's magnified handsome face; she was startled and hurriedly shrank back.
Han Yangting didn't do anything to her; he was just lying on the bed, propping his head up with one hand while watching her.
And judging by his expression, he didn't seem very happy.
"Brother Han, why, why are you on my bed?"
After a good while, he said gloomily, "Too hungry, I can't sleep."
"Then, then who told you not to eat more at noon?" Bai Shuruo questioned him weakly.
"I couldn't eat."
"Then what should we do now?" she asked.
Han Yangting reached out and pinched her chin, bringing her small face toward him.
Just as their lips were about to touch, he said, "Ruoruo, you did that on purpose so I wouldn't be full, didn't you?"
His breath sprayed onto her face, itchy and tingling, and she couldn't help but grow nervous again.
