Chapter 153: Sinking
Yin Huaiyu had lived a smooth life, only stumbling on that one matter regarding Ganan; he clearly remembered how those few blades landed on him and carved out wounds.
On the fencing strip, Ling Wu made quick work of it and took 15 points.
Applause rang out incessantly from the spectator stands.
Yin Huaiyu was the first to stand up; he walked toward the fencing strip with a lazy gait, clapping as he went. His posture was slow and leisurely, as if he were calculating something at every moment, his gaze lingering on Ling Wu as if he could see through the human heart. He opened his arms to offer Ling Wu an embrace: "Good brother, you were truly amazing."
He removed Ling Wu's fencing mask, revealing those eyes he had once meticulously depicted with a paintbrush.
The faint cunning in Yin Huaiyu's eyes gradually turned into paranoid fanaticism; look at what he had discovered?
Ling Wu actually had two faces.
Truly surprising.
Chu Yi unscrewed a bottle of mineral water and handed it to Ling Wu: "Drink some water."
"I'm going to the changing room first." After finishing the water, Ling Wu took the mask back from Yin Huaiyu's hand, nodded slightly to the others, and stepped across the floor toward the direction of the Rest Room.
Jin Shaoyu's voice came through the screen: "Transfer the money quickly."
Yin Huaiyu: "Isn't it just 50 million? Why the rush?"
Yu Shixue removed his mask with one hand and took the mineral water from Jing Du to take a sip; the veins on the back of his hand bulged, and he cast a glance in the direction Ling Wu had left.
Then, he heard Yin Huaiyu say with ambiguous meaning: "Shixue, you really aren't wronged to lose to him."
Jing Du hung up the video call and tucked his phone into his pocket. Listening to Yin Huaiyu's equivocal words, what surfaced in his mind was the elegant bearing of the youth standing on the fencing strip holding his sword.
Yu Shixue was a bit suspicious of his words; how did it seem like Yin Huaiyu knew Ling Wu's fencing level so well?
But he didn't think much of it.
Yin Huaiyu greeted them and then left.
The changing rooms at Sike Academy were individual, luxuriously built, with independent bathrooms and rooms, and were fully equipped with daily necessities, air conditioning, and other facilities.
Ling Wu finished changing his clothes and unscrewed the door of the changing room to walk out, only to see Yin Huaiyu leaning against the wall, head slightly lowered, his fingertips fiddling with a lighter, one of his long legs bent casually—he was clearly waiting for him.
Before Ling Wu could speak, Yin Huaiyu tilted his head to look at him, his movements quick and urgent as he grabbed the youth's arm and pushed him into the changing room.
"Click!"
Yin Huaiyu locked the door from the inside.
Ling Wu stared at him: "What are you doing?"
Seeing that he had the intention to leave, Yin Huaiyu immediately shifted his steps, using his tall, upright body to block the door, obscuring the lock and the path out completely: "What do you think?"
"I'm not in the mood to play your guessing games." Ling Wu's expression was serious; when those beautiful eyes held no emotion, they appeared somewhat cold and heartless: "Young Master Yin, if you've played enough, hurry up and move aside."
Yin Huaiyu bent down slightly, his tall body looming over him, somewhat: "Ling Wu, I always call you good brother, but you aren't good to me at all. Why are you always so cold toward me?"
"Are you like this to others too?"
"I just wanted to talk to you alone, yet you insist on keeping me at a distance of a thousand miles."
Ling Wu was not deceived by his pitiful expression; he was very heartless: "Look for the reason in yourself."
He pushed Yin Huaiyu away.
"So heartless."
However, Yin Huaiyu was not annoyed by his attitude, nor was he in a hurry. Instead, he slowly moved his body aside. Just as Ling Wu opened the lock and prepared to press the door handle, he smiled very faintly, his tone nonchalant: "Are you sure you don't want to stay and play for a while, Magician?"
Ling Wu's expression remained as usual, but his movement to leave stopped: "I don't understand what you're talking about."
"Do you really not understand?" Yin Huaiyu stood behind him, pressed his palm against the back of Ling Wu's hand, and guided his hand to push hard, closing the door again. He reached his arm from behind to the front, pinning the person against the door, and pinched his chin: "If you really didn't understand, why did you stop your movement to leave?"
"Are you feeling guilty?"
Ling Wu was trapped in the cramped space between his arm and the door, and was then turned by the shoulders by Yin Huaiyu to face him.
Ling Wu raised his eyes and met his half-smiling gaze: "I was just listening to what you had to say out of politeness. Since Young Master Yin has finished speaking, then I will be going now."
"Heh."
A breathy sound escaped Yin Huaiyu's throat.
He knew it was difficult for Ling Wu to easily admit his identity, but he also couldn't let the person go so easily. Since he had blocked the person in the changing room, the proud Young Master Yin would not give up until he forced something out.
Yin Huaiyu used his left hand to fish out his phone, quickly unlocked it with his face, opened the photo in his album, covered the lower half of Ling Wu's face with his palm, and held the screen up to him: "Ling Wu, have I ever told you that your eyes are very beautiful, especially suitable for digging out and collecting?"
As he spoke, he was full of anticipation for that face—usually so cold and steady—to reveal a panicked expression; even a single moment of losing composure would be enough to satisfy Yin Huaiyu.
But there was none.
Absolutely none.
Ling Wu said lightly: "Oh."
"There are many people with eyes that look like mine. Is Young Master Yin trying to frame me?"
【Yin Huaiyu (assertively): You are the Magician; Ling Wu (heart not racing, hand not shaking): You are framing me!】
【Ling Wu: La la la, whatever you say, I refuse to admit it to the death, go ahead and call the police to arrest me (apologies for OOC)】
【Hahaha... what a great 'refuse to admit it to the death'!】
【Ling Wu: You say this is me, please produce evidence.】
【A hundred rabbits will never make a horse, a hundred suspicions will never make a piece of evidence.】
【If it were me, at the first sentence someone asked, I would say, what do you mean? And after two rounds I would have confessed without being asked...】
【Red-hair, what are you trying to do!】
【Young Master Yin, hurry up and strip off his mask!】
Yin Huaiyu's androgynous face held no expression at this moment, and he said with a hint of gritted teeth: "Ling Wu, your mouth is the hardest part of your entire body!"
Ling Wu said faintly: "Thank you."
The two people in the changing room were at daggers drawn, neither willing to bow their heads.
Yet Yin Huaiyu hated this cold-hearted and detached appearance of Ling Wu, where no one could enter his eyes and his heart never rippled; at this moment, he viciously wanted to tear off his calm skin, make Ling Wu feel lost and afraid, and have him stare at him and cry with those eyes.
Ling Wu did not know his dark inner thoughts.
Yet Yin Huaiyu thought of a way to provoke Ling Wu; he stared nakedly at the youth's crimson lips and leaned down, wanting to kiss him.
"Bang!"
Ling Wu's fist struck his face hard; Yin Huaiyu was a person pampered and spoiled, living in luxury, and had always been the type to push his luck.
"What kind of madness are you having?!" Ling Wu pushed him away: "Yin Huaiyu, are you cheap or what?"
Yin Huaiyu was struck, his head turning to the side, his red hair resting casually on his forehead in a smooth arc; a cut split the corner of his mouth, and his mouth was filled with the faint taste of blood; he was fierce and stubborn: "Ling Wu! I'm fucking cheap for liking you!"
"I'm so fucking hard thinking about you, yet you're gentle and polite to others while being cold and heartless to me. Ling Wu, tell me! Tell me exactly where I offended you?"
Ling Wu said coldly: "Do you even know what liking someone is?"
"I know!" Yin Huaiyu said: "Including that business with my uncle, the video in the phone that the Police recovered, it was you who did it, right? I didn't even want to harm you, otherwise, I would have tipped off my dad the moment you came down from the sword path. The Yin Family's army wouldn't need a reason to arrest you if they arrived at the Academy! Do you think if this matter were brought out into the open, Jin Liangjin could protect you? Could he withstand the pressure of the Three Great Families? Do you know how much your life is worth on the Dark Web?!!"
Ling Wu's expression relaxed, a bit mocking: "Yin Huaiyu... so you like me that much?"
Words like these, it was enough to just listen to them.
Yin Huaiyu did indeed have some liking for Ling Wu, but it was far from the extent he claimed; his liking was not that pure, but carried a predatory possessiveness.
The only reason he did not expose him was simply because he had no evidence.
Ling Wu's methods were brilliant, not even leaving a trace behind; dealing with such a person was too terrifying, not to mention that behind him stood the entire Jin Family.
Voices of conversation came from outside the corridor; it was Yu Shixue and Jing Du. As the two went to the changing room next door, Yin Huaiyu covered his lips: "Shixue is here; you wouldn't want him to hear, would you?"
I don't know how much time passed, but Ling Wu slapped away Yin Huaiyu's hand: "Some lies are fine to fool others with, but don't fool yourself as well."
Yin Huaiyu: "What do you mean?"
"Nothing much." Ling Wu smoothed out the wrinkles in his shirt, his entire person returning to a calm and composed appearance: "Yin Huaiyu, don't think you can threaten me. Go out and shout with a megaphone, say that I am the Magician."
"See if anyone believes you."
Ling Wu was fearless: "You know clearly in your heart that without evidence, your words can be easily overturned."
Yin Huaiyu fell silent; his thoughts were laid out so clearly that it was as if the person standing opposite him was not just a Magician, but a psychological expert capable of easily seeing through his thoughts.
Yin Huaiyu had to admit that, until this moment, proud as he was, he was also conquered by Ling Wu; this person was too dazzling, taming his malice and selfishness, and without realizing his devout worship, he gradually sank...
