Chapter 195: Calling to Account
"Huaiyu, we agreed on a partnership, but now that you've used me, you want to kick me to the curb. Isn't that a bit unethical?"
Jing Du had been sent back to Beidu City, and only now, having lost too much blood, had he woken up to come and settle the score.
Yin Huaiyu played dumb with him: "Adu, what do you mean?"
"Don't play games with me." Jing Du leaned against the headboard, the light filtering through the clouds and refracting through the floor-to-ceiling window, casting small spots of light on the back of his hand: "Shao Yu and the others have already called me. The search and rescue team searched the Snow Mountain like crazy and didn't find anyone, and they even called me!"
"They asked if I saw Ling Wu on the Snow Mountain. That night at the church, I saw you chase after him."
"Where did you hide Ling Wu?"
His voice was lowered, clearly showing he was angry.
Yin Huaiyu crossed his legs and looked toward the locked room, his mood inexplicably good: "Adu, it's true that I chased after him that night, but I was also injured. It was freezing out there; isn't it a bit too much to ask for me to chase him back?"
"Ling Wu disappeared the moment I left the church. To avoid making a scene, I had no choice but to bring you back to Beidu City, otherwise you would have already died of blood loss on the Snow Mountain."
The other end of the phone was very quiet; Jing Du didn't know what to think.
Yin Huaiyu said earnestly: "We've been brothers for so many years, don't you understand me?"
"Adu, how could I possibly stab you in the back?"
He spoke with such sincerity, deliberately making his voice sound sorrowful, to the point where it would make a listener weep.
"Heh."
The fingertips Jing Du used to hold his phone turned white from the pressure: "It's precisely because I understand you that I know you're capable of doing such a thing."
"Huaiyu, do you think that just because you won't tell me where Ling Wu is, I can't find him?"
"I know all the private properties under your name, and he couldn't have left Beidu City. I'll check them one by one, and I'll find him within three days. Is there any need for you to keep acting with me?"
That was how it was said, and that was the logic of it.
But Yin Huaiyu was unmoved by both soft and hard tactics. He wouldn't let go of something he had already gotten his hands on; making him voluntarily hand over Ling Wu was harder than killing him.
Yin Huaiyu put down his crossed legs, and his whole demeanor was no longer as lazy and relaxed as before, reaching a level of being on guard: "Adu, look, you just don't trust your brother."
He glanced at the call history on his phone, and sure enough, there were several missed calls.
They were from Jin Shaoyu and Yu Shixue, respectively.
"To be honest, you're not the only one who's anxious. I just received a call from Shao Yu and the others too. In a place like the Snow Mountain, there's a possibility that the avalanche beacon could malfunction, isn't there?"
"Besides, an upright person doesn't fear a crooked shadow. Ling Wu isn't here, so he isn't here. Even if you turned over every piece of private property under my name, I couldn't conjure a person out of thin air for you."
"Don't you agree that's the logic?"
Jing Du let out a cold snort, clearly not believing this "nonsense," and then said slowly: "Fine, I'll be able to find him eventually."
"But you'd better keep your scheme against Ling Wu well-hidden, otherwise, just Shao Yu alone will be enough to make you suffer."
Yin Huaiyu, however, disagreed. He said lazily: "You can't say it like that. The scheme against Ling Wu was something we did together, Adu, have you forgotten?"
"Even though we didn't manage to catch him, we shouldn't break up the partnership so quickly."
"Huaiyu, you really do have a good plan." Jing Du knew clearly in his heart, and now he brought it out into the open: "You took all the benefits, and left me to bear all the infamy alone."
Yin Huaiyu had nothing left to say to him, so he immediately found an excuse: "Adu, I won't talk to you anymore. It's time to change my wound dressing, and the family doctor is urging me."
"Don't worry about those irrelevant things; recovering from your injuries is the top priority."
Jing Du: "You..."
"Beep!"
The call was hung up directly.
Jing Du looked at the call-ended notification bar and immediately dialed his assistant: "Ready the car, I'm going to Jinghe Manor."
Yin Huaiyu had been annoyed by Jing Du, and now he prepared to go and hover in front of Ling Wu. He opened the bedroom door and saw that person sitting on the bed reading a book with a gentle expression, showing not a shred of the embarrassment of being a prisoner.
"Jing Du just called me."
"Oh." Ling Wu wasn't surprised by this. When he saw the two of them in the church that night, he understood that these two were planning to join forces to deal with him: "What did he say?"
Yin Huaiyu affectionately stroked his hair and pressed his palm against his cheek: "He knows it was me who took you away, and he's come to settle the score with me."
"What do you think I should do with you?"
Ling Wu closed the book, placed it at his side, and met his gaze: "Yin Huaiyu, why go to such lengths? Is it worth falling out with your brother for my sake?"
Yin Huaiyu said: "It's worth it."
He didn't even wait for Ling Wu to answer, changing the subject, and asked with concern: "Ling Wu, how does your body feel today? The doctor specifically warned that I can't do it with you recently, otherwise I'd really want to make your legs go weak right now."
"What's the use of thinking about these unrealistic things?" Ling Wu smiled lightly, with a hint of mockery, his cold and clear reflection mirroring the scene in the room: "Jing Du's matter must be bothering you a lot."
"Many things cannot be forced."
Yin Huaiyu gripped his wrist and pressed his other palm against his waist: "Stop being angry with me, okay?"
"Ling Wu, I know you're unhappy in your heart, but every time you dig at me with such barbed sarcasm, the one who ends up suffering is only yourself."
"I don't expect you to like me right now, after all, you've already cursed me as a beast. I, Yin Huaiyu, have lived indulgently for so many years, there truly isn't any scoundrelly thing I'm not capable of doing."
Ling Wu's expression was cold, and he didn't want to say a word.
Seeing that he wasn't speaking, Yin Huaiyu didn't restrain himself; instead, he became even more excessive. The lust in those peach-blossom eyes rippled, somewhat suffocating: "Awu, considering your body really isn't well these past two days, I won't touch you... but even without going all the way, there can be plenty of pleasure; we can do something else."
Ling Wu was vigilant: "What do you want to do?"
"Don't be afraid."
Yin Huaiyu restrained his struggling body.
Afterward, seeing the delicate and smooth skin, he buried his head in the crook of Ling Wu's neck. Feeling the resistance of the person beneath him, he used his strength even more ruthlessly, even causing that shoulder injury to ache faintly.
Ling Wu bent his leg and thrust his knee up heavily, clearly feeling the person on top of him tremble, and successfully shook him off: "Get lost!"
"Don't touch me!"
Yin Huaiyu didn't know where a sick person got such explosive power. Caught off guard, he was pushed away by Ling Wu and hit the headboard. He propped himself up with his hands, turned his head, wiped his fingertips across his lips, and looked at the red marks on Ling Wu's collarbone: "Sure enough, you still look better this way."
The faint light in his eyes was somewhat chilling.
Ling Wu knew this person was a scoundrel. Although his leg movement was restricted, his hands were still free. He was pressed onto the desk by Yin Huaiyu from behind, and the two of them soon started fighting. To call it fighting, it was entirely Ling Wu raining blows on Yin Huaiyu, who did not fight back.
Yin Huaiyu had long since confiscated all the sharp objects in the room, leaving only the books neatly arranged on the shelves; not even a single fountain pen could be seen, so for a moment, Ling Wu truly could not find anything handy to use.
"I won't lay a hand on you."
Yin Huaiyu buried his head against Ling Wu's collarbone, gnawing and biting, refusing to let go no matter how he was hit.
"Are you a dog in disguise?"
Ling Wu propped himself up on the floor with one hand, struggling to lift his body, and used his hands to reach for the chain on his leg; he then pulled both ends tight to strangle his neck, causing the veins on Yin Huaiyu's forehead to bulge as he struggled to breathe, the metal sinking into his flesh, and as he lay on the floor, he met Ling Wu's eyes, which were filled with a madness hidden within their calmness...
