Chapter 81: Who
Gunshots rang out incessantly by his ears. Ling Wu lowered his waist slightly, dodging Yin Huaiyu's punch, then shifted his footing. He gripped Yin Huaiyu's arm tightly, as immovable as iron pincers. Using one hand to exert force, he clenched his fingers and joints, then swept his long leg out to throw the man to the ground.
But Yin Huaiyu seized the moment and quickly pressed back. Looking at Ling Wu, he said, "Your eyes are beautiful; they are perfect for being dug out and kept as a collection."
Against the light.
Yin Huaiyu's face was entirely shrouded in shadow, his pink hair tinged with gold by the light. That pair of peach-blossom eyes no longer held any trace of affection; all that remained was sharp confrontation.
The muscles in his arms bulged, and he threw a punch that carried the wind, striking cleanly and decisively toward Ling Wu.
Ling Wu bent his knees and thrust upward, dodging the attack. Taking advantage of the opponent's pain, he countered with a kick to the chest, striking the oncoming Yin Huaiyu hard and sending him stumbling back a few steps: "Wishful thinking."
He then suddenly spun around, sweeping his leg horizontally.
Yin Huaiyu leaned back and grabbed his ankle, and the two of them tumbled together toward the wall railing.
Without a moment to catch their breath, another flying kick came. Ling Wu supported himself with one hand, sliding across the ground until he hit the corner of the wall.
The two looked at each other from several meters away.
Panting heavily.
Neither had managed to gain the upper hand against the other.
Yin Huaiyu was slightly superior to Ling Wu in raw strength.
But Ling Wu's combat techniques were clearly more extensive.
The sun sank below the horizon; evening was about to descend.
Just as they were at a stalemate, Yin Huaiyu looked back and gave him a deep, meaningful glance. He pushed off with his arms and actually jumped straight down from the second floor, landing steadily. With agile movements, he ran toward the shelves of the Abandoned Warehouse.
The floors of the Abandoned Warehouse were built quite low, but a leap from the second floor was still two meters high.
Seeing that Yin Huaiyu was running in the direction of Xi Huaizhi, Ling Wu pushed off with his arms and jumped down as well. His movements were graceful and fluid, the kicked-up dust staining his pant legs as he chased after where Yin Huaiyu had disappeared.
"Squeak!"
"Squeak, squeak—"
It seemed to be the sound of a mouse.
Ling Wu walked vigilantly between several rows of wooden shelves. Surrounded by abandoned machines and wooden tables, his field of vision was narrow. In such an environment, with Yin Huaiyu in the dark and himself in the light, he was already at a disadvantage.
"Bang!"
The shelf in front of him was kicked over, and a large amount of dust billowed up. Ling Wu raised his arm to shield his eyes. A Steel Pipe smashed fiercely into the shelf in front of him, grazing past his cheek. Wood chips flew everywhere, and the dust was incredibly choking.
Yin Huaiyu's voice rang out by his ear: "Surprised?"
At the same time, Ling Wu saw Yin Huaiyu's face peering through a gap.
So gloomy and cold.
Seeing him about to catch up, Ling Wu followed suit and kicked several wooden boards toward him. Yin Huaiyu used the Steel Pipe to flip the boards aside, but when he steadied his gaze, the person in front of him had vanished without a trace...
"Heh." Yin Huaiyu's body wove through the rows of shelves: "Hiding again?"
"Then you had better pray you aren't found by me."
The gunshots had long since stopped; it seemed Xi Huaizhi had successfully dealt with that group of people. Now, the warehouse was so quiet that the drop of a pin could be heard.
Rhythmic footsteps sounded slowly.
Ling Wu leaned against the shelf by the wall, listening to the footsteps drawing closer. He tore off his jacket and threw it on the ground. The light filtering through the gaps in the ventilation duct fell upon him, evenly coating the bridge of his nose and his collarbone, the sweat on his fair, taut skin glowing with an alluring luster.
He lifted the hem of his T-shirt, revealing a corset-style black knife holster around his waist. He gripped the handle protruding from the holster's compartment and drew the Soft Blade; the curved blade snapped back instantly to become straight.
"Clang!"
Ling Wu walked out from the shadows of the shelves holding the Military Knife. His slender, thin frame blocked half the light leaking in, and the sharp, newly revealed tip of the blade was aimed at Yin Huaiyu: "The situation has reversed; it's my turn to catch you."
Yin Huaiyu stared at the knife in his hand, his expression displeased.
"Where did you hide your knife?"
Ling Wu did not speak. He vaulted into the air, spinning to slash out a screen of startlingly white blade light, like stars falling from the night sky. As the long blade and the Steel Pipe pressed against each other, they almost sparked, and the surface of the Steel Pipe seemed to be carved with blade marks.
"Clang—"
The two sides of the blade reflected Ling Wu's beautiful brows and eyes and half of Yin Huaiyu's cold, stern face.
Yin Huaiyu was shocked by the opponent's beautiful swordsmanship, and then he heard him say: "Where I go and what I do—as long as I want to, who can stop me?"
Who can stop me?
Yin Huaiyu felt that this was the other person's answer to his earlier remark—"The entire Ganan is my territory. Unless you can be like a bird and grow wings to fly out, or like a mole and dig a hole, otherwise... I guarantee the two of you will die without a burial place."
Tch.
He had underestimated the enemy.
This person's background was extraordinary.
He didn't look at all like someone Huo Xi could command.
Ling Wu pressed the knife in his hand and flashed his stance, his momentum like bamboo being split. As the two forces collided, his thumb web felt numb, and the blade wind whistled sharply.
The long blade swung, and the blinding blade light surged upward like a silver dragon leaping into Yin Huaiyu's eyes.
After dozens of exchanges, Yin Huaiyu's body was cut by the blade, and scarlet blood splattered onto Ling Wu's white T-shirt, like red plum blossoms blooming on a snowy plain...
Ling Wu used the blade to flick the Steel Pipe out of his hand. Seeing that Xi Huaizhi had arrived, he ended the fight like a victor, cutting through the chaos with a swift blade. He pressed the knife against Yin Huaiyu's neck, drawing a line of blood: "Move another millimeter, and my blade will slit your throat."
Xi Huaizhi ran over: "Ah..."
He changed his tone at the last second: "Boss!"
Receiving Ling Wu's eye signal, Xi Huaizhi hurried behind Yin Huaiyu and pressed his gun against his head. Seeing Ling Wu sheath his blade, he then wrapped his arm around Yin Huaiyu's neck, assuming the posture of holding a hostage.
"Let's get out of here first."
Seeing the scene of two "terrorists" holding the heir of the Yin Family hostage as they walked out, the Police felt as if the sky had collapsed; they felt faint and dizzy, as if they were about to pass out.
Yet Yin Huaiyu remained unhurried, wearing a smile as he added fuel to the fire: "Shoot! Kill them without mercy!"
The Police were speechless: "........."
What a living ancestor.
You certainly aren't afraid of death, and you certainly are high-minded, but what about them? Who is going to look after the life and death of the NPCs!
The leader of the Police waved their hand, and several guns were aimed in unison at Ling Wu and the others, saying: "Let go of Young Master Yin!"
Xi Huaizhi pointed their gun at Huaiyu's temple: "Everyone put your guns down for me! Otherwise, I'll blow him away right now!"
No one dared to act rashly.
The people from the Police looked at each other: "Officer, what should we do?"
"That is the legitimate heir of the Yin Family; if something happens to him within our Ganan territory, ten heads wouldn't be enough for you to lose."
The officer took a deep breath and gave them a cold look: "What else can we do?"
"Let them go!"
