Chapter 91: Is He Concerned About His Brother?
Even if the owner of these eyes were ground into ash, Jin Shaoyu would still recognize them.
When he was young, Jin Shaoyu felt his brother's eyes were the stars in the sky; Ling Wu would accompany him to sleep on stormy nights, sitting by the bedside, his figure thin, watching him with a warm and powerful gaze, letting the light of the lightning flash across his brows and eyes, those eyes just as bright as they were in this moment, capable of welcoming the arrival of dawn at any time...
Jin Shaoyu calmed down immediately.
Ling Wu went to Ganan, even exchanged blows with Yin Huaiyu, and in the end, under the joint blockade of the Jing and Yin families, broke through layers of encirclement and retreated unscathed.
His gaze was dark and heavy, the faint light in the depths of his pupils a bit cold.
Seeing him staring at the phone screen as if he were about to be drawn in by the magic within, Yin Huaiyu patted his shoulder and asked, "What's wrong?"
Jin Shaoyu's expression was as usual as he returned the phone to him.
"The eyes are beautiful."
Jing Du was nearby, taking in his expression, not missing even a trace of astonishment; he wore a form-fitting black vest, his temperament cold and ascetic, his tone carrying a hint of probing: "Shao Yu, I thought you recognized them."
"Recognize what?" Jin Shaoyu lit a cigarette nonchalantly, exhaling a smoke ring that blurred his features, and teased, "Recognize a terrorist?"
His expression was calm and composed, but his palms were already beaded with a layer of cold sweat.
Jing Du swirled his wine glass, sipped his drink, and said nothing.
Yin Huaiyu sent this photo to the three of them: "There, the photo is sent to you all; next time you intercept them, remember to identify the person."
Yu Shixue: "Fine."
"I'm actually curious, how did these two leave Ganan? Did they really grow wings and fly out?"
Yin Huaiyu was concise: "Helicopter."
Listening to the rhythmic music in his ears, Jin Shaoyu continued to ask: "You didn't track them based on the helicopter?"
"The other party has a very strong anti-tracking awareness," Yin Huaiyu explained at length: "By the time we sent people to track them, they had long since abandoned the aircraft at the Abandoned Factory and fled; even the route was planned out, organized and disciplined, and that helicopter model has a market price of 60 million—the other party is not short on money at all."
"Adu speculates it was done by that group of Magician, but I don't think Huo Xi has the ability to cooperate with the Magician."
"It might just be people under their Organization who came out to take a private job."
Jin Shaoyu easily caught several useful pieces of information from his words, and then stopped asking.
He stood up and went to the restroom; after exiting the VIP room, he took out his phone, opened the chat box with Gu Xin, and typed with the 26-key keyboard:
-Jin Shaoyu: Gu Xin, I'll give you two hours; no matter what channel you use, buy me a vial of TSR-91 Agent, put it on my account.
The mirror in the restroom reflected Jin Shaoyu's face; the arc of his jaw was beautiful, yet his temperament was somewhat cold and heavy.
"Ding!"
Gu Xin, this deputy, was on call almost 24 hours a day and replied quickly:
-Gu Xin: Understood!
-Jin Shaoyu: Send it to this address.
-Gu Xin: Received!
Jin Shaoyu returned to the VIP room, exchanged drinks and pleasantries with them, and after playing a few more rounds of dice, made an excuse to leave.
He exited the entertainment venue, pulled open the door of the Maybach by the roadside, and the driver started the engine.
Jin Shaoyu turned and dialed Weilan's number again; the phone rang, and after a few seconds, the call was answered. Weilan said, "Hello?"
Jin Shaoyu: "Weilan, Director Fang has already asked for your opinion; regardless of whether you are free tonight, my people will arrive at the entrance of the Research Institute on time to pick you up."
There was a long silence on the other end.
"... Second Young Master?"
Jin Shaoyu: "It's me."
Weilan cursed inwardly, but on the surface still said: "Since the Second Young Master has spoken, how would I dare to disobey."
Sike Academy.
Jin Shaoyu parked the car downstairs at Ling Wu's student apartment building and called him; it was answered almost immediately, and Ling Wu's voice sounded on the other side of the receiver: "Hello, Shao Yu, is something the matter?"
"I'm waiting for you downstairs at your apartment; you know the license plate number."
Ling Wu: "I'll be down immediately."
Two minutes later, Ling Wu came out from the apartment entrance.
Seeing him reach for the back seat door, Jin Shaoyu rolled down the window, rested his bent arm on the window frame, the lines of his neck and shoulders smooth and handsome, and looked straight at him: "Why are you sitting in the back?"
"You sit in the passenger seat."
Ling Wu nodded in agreement, entered the passenger seat, and fastened his seatbelt; his voice wasn't loud, but it was enough for Jin Shaoyu to hear clearly in the cramped space: "I thought you didn't want to sit with me."
Jin Shaoyu's hand on the steering wheel stiffened, and after a long while, he said: "That's what you thought."
Ling Wu tilted his head to look at him: "So, does this mean you aren't angry with me?"
The young man's voice was pleasant and very persuasive.
Jin Shaoyu subconsciously wanted to blurt out "Yes"; he turned his body to look at Ling Wu's eyes, his gaze seemingly able to dissect them layer by layer, until he saw his own reflection within them; his tone was indifferent: "You're already in the car, and you still have to ask?"
Ling Wu was someone who could very well tolerate his little temper: "Then where are we going?"
He looked at the scenery receding outside the window as the vehicle drove away from the apartment.
"Only thought to ask after getting on the 'pirate ship'." Jin Shaoyu looked straight ahead, the corners of his eyes and brows faintly curling up: "Selling you to human traffickers."
【Young Master Jin, you are just being cheeky; wait until your brother really gets out of the car, and you won't be happy again.】
【Have I been abused too much? I inexplicably feel that this moment is... a bit warm?】
【Who understands that he said it with a smile? It makes a wicked woman like me feel warm inside.】
【Based on my years of experience reading novels, this is called the calm before the storm; perhaps our Young Master Jin is about to do something big?】
【The two of them in the same frame is just too pleasing to the eye; I'm eating it up like crazy!】
After a long while, Jin Shaoyu returned to being serious.
His Adam's apple bobbed, and in his tone, besides worry, there was also a hidden probe: "I was browsing the forum and saw everyone saying you've been on leave for a long time; are you sick or what's going on?"
"I haven't heard you mention it."
Ling Wu's tall, slender, and thin figure leaned lazily against the car window, enveloped by the mottled and scattered light and shadows of the neon signs; his profile had elegant and clean lines, and he possessed an air of refined uprightness, appearing within reach yet actually unattainable, as he asked in return, "Are you concerned about your brother?"
