Chapter 107: At Home They Dote on the Future Wife Too

~7 min read 1,287 words

He walked out quickly and happened to bump into the organizer who was accompanying Jiang Jibai and Qi Zhan as they came.

"You arranging those things is fine, but why are there women too?"

The organizer was stunned for a moment, then explained with a hehe laugh: "Today, an ordinary customer specially requested this, so I brought a few over. There aren't many, and the quality isn't that great, so I didn't offer them to high-end clients."

"What's wrong?" Jiang Jibai and Qi Zhan didn't know Zhou Yinhe had brought Wen Ling; they frowned, puzzled, as it wasn't the first time they'd done something like this—was it really necessary to rush?

"What do you say?" Ke Chengyu pointed to the back private room and whispered: "When I called Xiao Wu today, I also called Wen Ling—you guys aren't unaware of what happened last time at Xishan."

The two both muttered lowly, "Calling her here isn't just adding trouble for Xiao Wu? Later Xiao Wu won't even know how to sweet-talk her properly."

Ke Chengyu also regretted, pursing his lips: "I wasn't thinking that every time I call Xiao Wu, he doesn't come, so I added Wen Ling to the call; who knew there would be a woman this time, and I didn't mention it at first."

The three exchanged a glance, looked at the organizer, and whispered: "Withdraw it quickly."

The organizer listened for a while but was still confused, asking: "What's wrong?" These few young masters aren't exactly innocent; why is their reaction so strong this time?

"Don't want to upset Zhouwu, I advise you to arrange it early." Jiang Jibai said lightly, after all the organizer invited them to join the fun—don't let them take over the turf.

The organizer suddenly understood, threw out a thanks, and dashed downstairs as if on a fire wheel.

The three stood at the end of the hallway, lit cigarettes, and whispered, discussing how to explain to Wen Ling so Zhou Yinhe would suffer less.

In the end, the one pushed out as the biggest scapegoat was Ke Chengyu, who had invited Zhou Yinhe and Wen Ling.

The three waited at the private room door until the smoke smell faded, then pushed the door open to see Wen Ling still expressionlessly gazing downstairs, while Zhou Yinhe stood behind her, his hand resting on her shoulder, kneading.

Hearing the door open, Zhou Yinhe turned his head to look at the three entering, throwing them a look that said, "You're going to kill me."

Jiang Jibai and Qi Zhan wanted to laugh at his such wife‑strict demeanor and expression, pursed their lips and sat down, their smiles written all over their faces but they made no sound.

The biggest scapegoat Ke Chengyu couldn't even laugh, gave a light cough, walked to Wen Ling's side, and smilingly explained: "Sister‑in‑law, that uh—"

Wen Ling's expression changed instantly; she smiled gently at him and corrected: "Young Master Ke, I and Zhou Yinhe aren't engaged or married yet, so calling me sister‑in‑law is too early—if you don't mind, just call me by my name."

Zhou Yinhe panicked, suddenly crouching beside Wen Ling's leg, looking at her pitifully.

Wen Ling blinked her eyes at her, feeling she hadn't said anything wrong.

Upon hearing that, Ke Chengyu panicked even more than Zhou Yinhe, hurriedly explaining: "Wen Ling, today's mess is my fault—I didn't know the organizer would do this; before, at most we'd arrange something odd. I just asked, and they said someone downstairs ordered dishes, and the organizer, seeing money, put this together—Xiao Wu didn't know they'd do this either."

Wen Ling smiled narrowly: "I guessed as much, and they've already taken those away. I'm not angry, just feel it's a bit strange. Besides, the fault isn't yours—I'm not that unreasonable, and I wouldn't impose collective punishment."

Seeing she really wasn't angry, Ke Chengyu relaxed, but Zhou Yinhe, after Ke Chengyu left, directly hugged Wen Ling and wouldn't let go, whining: "Why won't you let them call you sister‑in‑law?"

Wen Ling rubbed his hair and said seriously: "Actually we aren't engaged or married yet; I think the term sister‑in‑law isn't quite fitting. If you mind, then call me sister‑in‑law."

Zhou Yinhe pursed his lips, unhappy: "Fine."

He wanted to get engaged and married as soon as possible, to settle the person early, so he wouldn't be plagued by gains and losses later.

Wen Ling gently stroked his cheek with her fingers, silently soothing him.

Just now she didn't feel angry, but feeling uneasy was certain; she glanced at the women seated below, and basically everyone's expression was a bit uncomfortable.

Jiang Jibai shouted from the side, "Zhou Yinhe!" Zhou Yinhe looked up, and Jiang Jibai said: "That litter of wolf pups in the cage downstairs—you don't like them, do you?"

Zhou Yinhe glanced down, not really in the mood, but Wen Ling looked down with enthusiasm for a while, then pressed the button in front of her.

Not long after, a professional bidder came in, and Wen Ling told him: "Bid on that litter of wolf pups, no limit."

The bidder was stunned for a moment, then asked: "All of them?"

Wen Ling nodded, the bidder understood, and hurried downstairs.

When the lights came on upstairs, the auction paused—this was a private auction with few rules; the lit private rooms upstairs were what the boss had instructed to pay special attention to, each attendee's status being unusual, and no one else dared to comment on the pause.

As expected, after the bidder went downstairs he raised his bidding paddle to indicate.

After the auctioneer reacted, he understood; at first others added a few rounds of bids, but seeing the bidder's paddle never lowered, they unwillingly stopped.

A litter of wolf pups was quickly brought into their private room; Zhou Yinhe squatted by the cage, eyes bright as he looked at the pups, and Jiang Jibai and the three others all hissed in unison.

What a good fate—being pampered at home is one thing, having a future wife also pampered, and the three of them had eyes red with envy and jealousy.

Zhou Yinhe swept Wen Ling, who had been watching the wolf pups with him, into his embrace, burying his face in her shoulder and rubbing.

Wen Ling chuckled: "Really?"

"Indeed." Zhou Yinhe nodded.

Wen Ling helplessly patted him, telling him not to be exaggerated; frankly, in Hua Guo she had no power or influence, only money.

Zhou Yinhe arranged for people to take the wolf pups back to the manor for inspection; if healthy, he'd carve out a separate area for them, mainly because his original pack of pups had grown up, and he feared they'd bully these little ones if he weren't with them.

Wen Ling handed the card to the organizer who had come specially to apologize after the event; the organizer tried to please, saying: "No need, no need—just consider it my gift to Young Master Zhou."

Wen Ling lightly laughed, tossed the card to the staff, and said blandly: "No need, I'll send it myself, I'll pay myself."

The embarrassed organizer could only gesture for the staff to swipe the card; after the process finished, Wen Ling took the card and turned to leave.

Sitting in the car returning to Lang Po Wan, Zhou Yinhe still felt uneasy, lowering his voice to ask carefully: "Lingling, you really aren't angry, right?"

"Really not angry, rest easy." Wen Ling lifted her hand to pat his face perfunctorily, then pulled it back and continued looking at her phone.

Zhou Yinhe pursed his lips, a bit unhappy, grabbed Wen Ling's hand and squeezed it in his palm, ordering the driver: "Go to Chen Yue Fu."
