Chapter 12

~7 min read 1,286 words

"It's fine." Zhou Yinhe coughed a few more times, tossed the cigarette on the ground and stomped it out. Yang Butler, standing not far away, sighed, but in the end he still didn't tell Ning Qing about this.

The bystander sees clearly.

Wen Ling didn't know that after she left, Zhao Xingtang mentioned her to others.

After finishing dinner outside and just getting back into the car, she received a call from her grandfather in M Country.

Wen Laoxiansheng was stern and unsmiling, but toward his only precious granddaughter he was more like a kind little old man.

"Be good, how are you doing in Hua Guo? Are you happy?" Wen Laoxiansheng said gently.

"I'm good, I'm happy." Wen Ling cooed, "Grandpa, don't worry about me, how's your health? Is Wen Zhuo taking good care of you?"

"Wen Zhuo is taking good care of me, Grandpa's doing fine, rest assured." Wen Laoxiansheng laughed heartily, gave Wen Zhuo a glance, and Wen Zhuo came over smiling, saying, "Sister, rest assured, Grandpa's doing fine."

"Then that's good, Zhuo, remember to watch Grandpa's meals."

Wen Laoxiansheng's last checkup showed high blood sugar; before Wen Ling came to Hua Guo, she had instructed everyone in the Wen Family to manage his diet well, but she still couldn't rest easy.

"Okay, sis." Wen Zhuo teased, looking at Wen Laoxiansheng.

Wen Laoxiansheng glared at him, was about to say a few more words to Wen Ling, but Wen Ling said, "Grandpa, I have something to do, let's talk next time."

After saying that, Wen Ling hung up the phone. Old Master Wen stared at the phone, incredulously looking at the suppressing laughter Wen Zhuo beside him: "Your sister hung up on me?"

"Yeah, yes." Wen Zhuo pressed his lips, holding back laughter.

"How could she hang up on me? What important thing could be more important than my grandfather's call?"

"Maybe, perhaps, there's something important she can't tell you about."

"Then she shouldn't have hung up on me!" Wen Laoxiansheng snorted, shouting at a distance: "Butler Han! Get me a cup of iced fruit juice! I need to cool down!"

Wen Zhuo lifted his eyelids, giving Butler Han a bland look. Butler Han tugged at the corner of his mouth, forced a smile, lowered his eyes to observe his nose and heart, pretending not to hear.

Wen Zhuo stood up to pour tea for Wen Laoxiansheng, softly saying, "Grandpa, drinking tea will also cool you down."

Wen Laoxiansheng: "……"

Wen Ling hung up the phone, looking ahead at the car that had just pulled past beside her, stopped because of a red light.

"Hit it." Wen Ling curled her lip and ordered the driver.

The driver hesitated, but since the young lady's words must be obeyed, he stepped on the accelerator—"Bang!"—and people nearby turned at the sound.

Two valuable cars, rarely seen even in Sijiucheng, collided, naturally drawing attention.

Even though Wen Ling had braced herself, the impact still knocked her; she rubbed her reddened forehead, hearing the driver say, "Miss, the other party has gotten out of the car."

Wen Ling looked up, seeing only the other driver had gotten out, she softly said, "When you get out, remember to apologize; wait to see their boss before compensating."

After responding, the driver got out; the other driver frowned tightly, face cold, glaring at him, and said coldly, "How are you driving? You managed to hit from that far away?"

The driver smiled, saying, "Sorry, sorry, I really couldn't brake. Are you hurt? Is anyone else in your car hurt?"

The other driver turned to glance at the car, seeing the man had no intention of getting out, and continued, "My boss is fine."

"Or maybe let your boss get out so I can check for injuries and report to our boss."

The other driver hesitated a moment, then had to walk to the car; from Wen Ling's position she could only see the window slowly lowering, she pressed her lips, involuntarily feeling a bit of anticipation.

The car door opened, and indeed it was the person Wen Ling had been anticipating.

Zhou Yinhe got out, rubbing his neck, looking at Wen Ling's driver with a cold, indifferent expression. The driver glanced at Wen Ling peeking out the window, coughed, and smiled, saying, "Sir, sorry for the trouble—are you feeling unwell? Should we call an ambulance?"

"No need." Zhou Yinhe glanced at the other car, coldly said, "Leave contact info; later my driver will contact you about the repair costs."

Upon hearing that, Wen Ling hurriedly got out, smiling with curved brows and eyes, saying, "Zhou Yinhe, what a coincidence."

As soon as Zhou Yinhe saw her, he guessed this was Wen Ling's trick, narrowing his eyes and speaking low: "Quite a coincidence—you managed to hit my car even though it was stopped."

Wen Ling awkwardly coughed, shifting the topic: "How about this—we exchange contact info? Then you can just give me the bill."

"You already have my number? Just add my driver's." Zhou Yinhe wasn't falling for her act, determined not to get involved with Wen Ling again.

"No, you're the car owner; adding you would be better—what if your driver keeps asking me for money?" Wen Ling knew her words made no sense, but she put on a thick-skinned, aggrieved expression: "Besides, I searched for your phone number to add you, but you refused and even blocked me."

Zhou Yinhe's driver stared at her speechlessly, thinking, "Do I look like the kind of person who'd extort money?"

Zhou Yinhe turned his head away, not wanting to see her, afraid that seeing that expression would make him soft-hearted.

"I definitely won't bother you—just add me, and then I can transfer the repair money to you."

The two cars blocked the road, with vehicles behind unable to move honking frantically. Zhou Yinhe glanced at the blocked road and said, "Let's first move the cars to the side, then talk."

Wen Ling shook her head: "No, if you don't add me I'll stay right here, and your car won't be able to move either." She pulled up her phone's QR code and handed it to Zhou Yinhe.

Zhou Yinhe frowned at her shameless look; his car was known to many, and if someone snapped a photo and put it online, it would surely cause trouble, so he pulled out his phone, scanned her QR code, added her, and coolly said, "Can we go?"

"Wait a moment." Wen Ling opened the chat window, sent a message, and only after hearing Zhou Yinhe's phone chime did she smile at the driver and say, "Let's go."

She got into the car, rolled down the window and waved at Zhou Yinhe, smiling sweetly, her whole body exuding a warm, vibrant vigor, making her look very obedient; Zhou Yinhe snorted coldly inside.

"What's so obedient about her? She's just a fickle, ungrateful bitch, a heartless scumbag."

He told the driver to hurry up and drive off, but he didn't notice a small sports car not far away snapping a photo of him and Wen Ling.

In the "Suited Thugs Mutual Aid Group," the sports car driver directly tossed the photo in, and the group, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly became lively.

Sijiucheng's most flamboyant: 【Damn, who is this, pulling and tugging with a woman in the middle of the road 【dog head】】

Human ATM: 【Yo yo yo, what a beautiful woman, Xiao Wu enjoys considerable fortune 【dog head】】

Your wife's ideal type: 【Isn't that that guy? When did he come to Hua Guo? How did he run into our Xiao Wu again.】

Human ATM: 【@Your wife's ideal type, do you even deserve that name?】
