Chapter 127: Being Held by Him Like Abei Bei
Half a month later, Zhou Yinhe was finally let out by his second uncle.
The first thing he did after coming out was to go to Lang Po Wan to find Wen Ling.
Because it was evening, right during the evening rush hour, the car was stuck in traffic. Zhou Jingyuan, sitting in the passenger seat and insisting on being given a ride, lazily played with his phone and leisurely said, "What's the rush? Could Wen Ling possibly run away if we're half an hour late?"
"Don't stand there talking if it doesn't hurt your waist." Zhou Yinhe frowned and glared at him, pursed his lips, took the phone, and sent Wen Ling a message telling her not to go out and to wait for him at home.
Wen Ling quickly replied, telling him not to be anxious.
He felt much more relieved, forcing himself to be patient as the traffic slowly cleared.
After dropping Zhou Jingyuan off at the downstairs of his company, without even bothering to speak to the indifferent Zhou Jingyuan, he stepped on the accelerator and the car shot far away.
He hadn't expected that, upon arriving at Lang Po Wan, he would see Wen Ling waiting for him in the shade at the main gate.
Zhou Yinhe didn't even have time to drive to the parking lot; he pulled the car over to the curb, opened the door, got out, and strode up to Wen Ling, tightly embracing her.
"I miss you so much."
Before Zhou Yinhe could speak, Wen Ling already returned the embrace and whispered a sentence.
"I miss you too." Zhou Yinhe tilted his head and kissed a strand of Wen Ling's hair, asking, "Why are you waiting for me here? Aren't you hot?"
Wen Ling pursed her lips and didn't speak again.
These past few days, her parents called again several times, and they had even come to Hua Guo on their own initiative; they are now at the Qin family, and through Qin Lao they indirectly wanted to see her.
Wen Ling didn't want to see them, and the resentment in her heart didn't turn into happiness just because the first thing they did after returning was to want to see her.
Zhou Yinhe knew about this; Qin Yuchen told him. He understood Wen Ling and roughly guessed why she didn't want to see her parents. He rubbed her back and brought her into the car.
"Do you want to bring Hehe and keep staying at my place?"
Wen Ling quietly looked at him; his eyes were full of endless tenderness, warming her somewhat tormented heart during this period.
She nodded, didn't get out of the car. Zhou Yinhe went into Lang Po Wan himself, tucked Hehe into his arms, went out, got in the car, carefully sent a message to Madame Zhou, then started the car.
In the car, Wen Ling only looked out the window. She used her fingers as a pet comb to groom Hehe. Zhou Yinhe glanced at her a few times and knew she was definitely uncomfortable inside.
"Anywhere you'd like to play? Hua Guo has many fun places. Let's pick a good summer‑retreat spot to stay for a while, okay? Stay until summer passes."
Wen Ling hesitated a bit.
Zhou Yinhe had company matters to attend to; she had also invested in Lu Zhaoye, and there was Hehe…
Zhou Yinhe understood her concerns, reached out and grasped Wen Ling's hand, gently squeezing it.
"I'll have my company people keep an eye on things there, so I don't have to stay on guard myself. As for Lu Zhaoye, I'll have Zhao Ningyan help; the Zhao family's standing there makes them the best choice to assist Lu Zhaoye in starting a company. As for Hehe," he glanced via the rearview mirror at the plump cat lounging lazily on the seat, chuckled, and said, "We can go on a self‑drive tour, bringing Hehe along."
Wen Ling turned and looked at Hehe; Hehe saw her suddenly turn back, looked at her with a curious expression, and directly made Wen Ling laugh.
"All right, then where should we go first?"
Wen Ling agreed, took out her phone, and began searching for suitable summer‑retreat places.
The car stopped in the underground parking garage. Zhou Yinhe got out, held Hehe in his arms, took Wen Ling's hand, and said, "Let's not rush the research; first, come with me to take a shower."
Wen Ling's cheeks were red as she pursed her lips and looked at him. Zhou Yinhe chuckled, the elevator stopped at the first‑floor lobby, he put Hehe on the ground, took Wen Ling's hand, and went straight upstairs without hesitation.
Afterward, Wen Ling held Zhou Yinhe's face and examined it carefully, regretting, "You've gotten tanned, and you've lost weight."
His hair is still the same style; now that he's tanned, it actually looks even more rugged.
Zhou Yinhe lowered his gaze to look at her; there was still a fire not completely extinguished in the depths of his eyes, and he said softly, "It'll come back soon."
As for the weight loss, Zhou Yinhe felt he was just right now—looking a bit thinner but more solid; just now he could easily lift Wen Ling with one hand.
He even felt a bit grateful to his second uncle for forcing him to train like this for nearly a month.
Wen Ling knew what he was thinking, glared at him angrily, and said, "Can't you think of something else?"
"No, I'm not incapable. Facing the woman I love, I can still be unmoved." Zhou Yinhe lowered his head, tapped her shoulder repeatedly with his chin, and added, "Besides, you also like it, don't you?"
He could clearly feel that Wen Ling's reaction just now was different from usual.
Because of his frankness, Wen Ling's flush hadn't faded before a new one rose.
"Rascal!" she spat out, word by word.
Zhou Yinhe accepted the label calmly, relaxed his grip holding her tight, and sighed, "These days I've been going to bed early and getting up early, forcing my schedule to shift, which really isn't suited to lounging in bed with you."
Wen Ling chuckled, pinched his cheeks and shook them, saying, "Then you can't be like the CEOs in novels who stay up late and rise early?"
"No way. Staying up late is a pleasure, and sleeping in is too." Zhou Yinhe kissed Wen Ling's cheeks, their limbs tangled in an embrace. Fortunately the air‑conditioner was set low, otherwise they'd both be sweating profusely.
"Besides, if I were to grind myself every day, what would they be good for? I'd have opened a company for nothing; it'd be better to just take a nominal post in the family group and not have to worry."
His reasoning was too bizarre, yet somewhat sound, and Wen Ling didn't know how to refute him.
Zhou Yinhe buried his head in her embrace, said drowsily, "Tired. Are you hungry? If not, let's sleep a bit and then go out for a late‑night snack."
Wen Ling wasn't hungry either; she had gotten up late at noon, eaten lunch late, had some snacks in the afternoon, and now felt no hunger at all.
"Not hungry and not sleepy—go ahead and sleep; I'll play on my phone and keep you company."
Zhou Yinhe was unwilling; he restrained Wen Ling's hand reaching for the phone and said, "No, you must stay with me."
Wen Ling was even more unwilling; she struggled a few times but couldn't break free, so she reluctantly remained in his arms, being held by him like a Bei Bei, eyes open and boredly staring into the void.
Not long after, Zhou Yinhe fell asleep. Wen Ling tried to push him away, but was pulled back into his embrace by his unconscious hold.
Wen Ling had no choice but to stretch out her arm, struggled to take the phone, and looked at it with her back to Zhou Yinhe.
Probably because she was just exhausted, plus the familiar scent and embrace beside her, Wen Ling didn't look long before she also fell asleep.
They slept like that until three in the morning.
Wen Ling woke first, stared at the pitch‑black room, and felt a bit dazed.
She hadn't expected that she'd planned just a short nap, yet ended up sleeping until three a. m.
Zhou Yinhe still hadn't awakened, so Wen Ling didn't disturb him, took the curtain remote, closed the curtains, lowered the phone brightness and silenced it, then looked at her phone with her back to Zhou Yinhe, waiting for him to wake.
