Chapter 199

~7 min read 1,206 words

Her voice was loud, she looked startled, Zhou Yinhe couldn't hold back, relaxed his strength and flopped onto her, his muffled laugh making his whole body tremble.

What are you laughing at!

Zhou Yinhe shook his head, unable to stop laughing, he said haltingly: "Nothing, just find it funny."

Wen Ling bit her lip, a blush rose on her cheeks, she muttered: "You jerk."

"Baobao, call me twice more, I haven't heard enough." Zhou Yinhe nodded, accepted her scolding, looked up with a smile and said: "I really like it, call me husband twice more and I definitely won't touch you tonight."

"I won't call, go ahead and touch me; tomorrow I'll call my uncle and aunt and have uncle beat you up." Wen Ling turned her face, bit her lip stubbornly: "Anyway, you're not afraid of pain."

Zhou Yinhe feigned surprise, widening his eyes exaggeratedly: "So ruthless, Baobao?"

Wen Ling didn't play along, seriously: "Yes, that's right, just wait."

"Don't be angry." Seeing she was truly angry, Zhou Yinhe hurriedly got up, knelt on the bed to coax her: "I was just teasing you, how could I be that bad, knowing you have things tomorrow I still bullied you."

Wen Ling didn't look at him, lay on her side pulling the blanket over, the blanket covered her face, she stayed silent without a word.

Zhou Yinhe panicked completely, stepped forward trying to pull the blanket open, but Wen Ling gripped it tightly.

"Baobao, don't, I really didn't mean it."

Wen Ling's voice from under the blanket was deep and muffled, calmly: "I know, go to sleep."

"Baobao, Baobao don't..."

Wen Ling ignored him, Zhou Yinhe bent over leaning against her, pitifully: "I know I was wrong, don't be angry, I really was just teasing you, sorry Baobao."

"You're just using me as a tool." Wen Ling muttered.

"?? Why say that." Zhou Yinhe didn't really understand.

Wen Ling lifted the blanket, her watery eyes looked at Zhou Yinhe, aggrieved: "Isn't that the case?"

"Impossible!" Zhou Yinhe was startled, raised his hand in an oath gesture, seriously: "I didn't treat you as a tool, I just like you too much, so I can't help myself."

Wen Ling asked doubtfully: "Really?"

Zhou Yinhe nodded, more serious than ever: "Really."

"Alright." Wen Ling lowered her eyes, pulled aside the blanket and patted it, signaling Zhou Yinhe to lie down and sleep.

Zhou Yinhe lay down carefully, glanced sideways at Wen Ling, seeing her expression return to normal he relaxed, reached out tentatively to hug her, finding no resistance, he held Wen Ling in his arms.

Wen Ling buried her face in his chest, pursed her lips and secretly laughed for a long time.

Little thing, dare to oppose me.

Zhou Yinhe couldn't tell she was pretending, felt very uneasy, and thought it was because he himself usually went too far that made her think that way.

Wen Ling slept soundly that nap, while Zhou Yinhe woke up with two heavy dark circles.

"Shall I put some concealer on you?" Wen Ling asked, trying not to laugh.

Zhou Yinhe listlessly shook his head, sighed: "I give up."

He basically didn't sleep all night, only when he was about to fall asleep did he realize he'd been played.

Wen Ling rose from the makeup mirror, walked to Zhou Yinhe's front, her icy small hand pressed onto his face, the cold made him shiver, his whole spirit lifted considerably.

"I'll make it up to you later, don't pull a face." Wen Ling slightly frowned, flicked his forehead, smiling: "If you keep this, later Grandpa and Grandpa-in-law will think I bullied you."

Zhou Yinhe felt wronged, complained: "Aren't you just bullying me?"

"When did I bully you?"

"You last night——"

Wen Ling narrowed her eyes, asked: "What happened last night? I was thinking that last night, just not so angry."

Zhou Yinhe swallowed his words, turned and went back to the room, flung himself onto the bed, shouting: "Heavens!"

Wen Ling stood behind him laughing so hard she couldn't straighten her waist.

They tidied up and went downstairs; Qin Lao and Wen Lao were already seated in the restaurant for a while, waiting for the younger ones to come down.

Wen Ling sat beside Wen Lao; Wen Lao glanced at Zhou Yinhe and chuckled: "Were you out thieving last night?"

"Mm, almost got caught." Zhou Yinhe pulled out the chair beside Qin Lao and sat down, wiping his face.

"Why haven't Lu Zhaoye and Qin Yuyang come downstairs yet?" Wen Ling frowned, "Are they that lazy?"

Qin Lao rolled his eyes: "They already finished breakfast, unlike you lot who lounge in bed all day."

"We don't lounge in bed, we got up pretty early today." Wen Ling pouted, unconvinced.

The two old geezers couldn't be bothered to argue with her; let them be lazy, anyway their granddaughter does everything well, and future grandson-in-law isn't exactly industrious either.

After finishing the meal, the four left the hotel, met Lu Zhaoye and Qin Yuyang returning to the hotel, and got into the car heading to the mountain area.

Zhou Yinhe sat beside Wen Ling; the car swayed, soon making him drowsy, so Wen Ling simply turned his head to rest on her shoulder, letting him nap so he wouldn't be listless all day.

Lu Zhaoye lifted his eyelids, glanced, snorted laughter, then looked away and continued on his phone.

They had notified in advance; the school principal waited at the village entrance, because the road was bad, the car could only stop there, so they walked in on foot.

Qin Yuyang looked around, especially upon entering the school and seeing those students, he was utterly shocked.

Until they returned to the hotel, he still looked dazed.

Wen Ling lowered her gaze to him, softly asked: "What's wrong?"

"Sister, can I also take out my pocket money to donate to them?" Qin Yuyang looked up at her.

"Sure." Qin Lao chimed in from behind, stepped forward to ruffle Qin Yuyang's soft hair, earnestly: "Not everyone is as fortunate as you; they're all striving to leave the mountains, and everything they'll gain in the future is bought with their present hardship."

Qin Yuyang pressed his lips, nodded seriously.

——

They stayed a few days in Guishan, then made a round in the neighboring province/city, finally arriving in Nanhai Sheng.

Nanhai Sheng is coastal, its temperature is somewhat higher than other provinces/cities that have entered autumn, the weather is quite pleasant, so they decided to stay a few more days.

Wen Ling couldn't get up in the morning, but in the afternoon and evening she was full of energy; by day she dragged Zhou Yinhe out to play, by night she dragged him to the seaside, settling the score for bullying him in Guishan along the way, so that when they return to Sijiucheng Zhou Yinhe won't keep finding fault.

Qin Lao and Wen Lao didn't want to play with the younger ones, so they took the steward and wandered about; Lu Zhaoye had already returned to Sijiucheng midway, bringing Qin Yuyang back with him.

Only two people remained, and they spent a few days of undisturbed sweet life.

If Zhou Yinhe didn't bully people every night...
