Chapter 37: Zhou Yue Goes Crazy
Lin Dazhi punished Bai Weiwei severely, and after exhausting a tiny bit of energy, he got up and strolled home.
Bai Weiwei wanted to experience the new house for a night, so Lin Dazhi didn't call for her to go home with him.
Although he had suddenly come into so much wealth, Lin Dazhi didn't get carried away. After all, with the system on him, he would never have to worry about money again in the future.
However, sitting on a pile of money every day, just eating, drinking, and playing with women—such a life held no appeal for Lin Dazhi, and it certainly wasn't what he wanted.
In the past, he had no choice, but now that he had the system, he wanted to be a person above others. People only live once; he wanted to reach the highest peak and take in the view.
Of course, he wouldn't forget those who had hurt him either; one by one, he would settle the scores slowly. Living in this world, being able to exact revenge and express gratitude freely was also a pleasure.
Returning to his familiar home, Lin Dazhi pushed open the door and was surprised to find that Zhou Yue was actually at home.
The latter was curled up on the sofa watching TV, and upon seeing Lin Dazhi return, she actually took the initiative to stand up and greet him.
"You're back?" Zhou Yue said, a trace of a smile even appearing on her face.
"You didn't go to Liu Haibo's place?" Lin Dazhi looked at Zhou Yue and asked with some surprise.
"Why would I go to his place? We aren't married," Zhou Yue said, her expression turning displeased upon hearing Lin Dazhi's words.
"Oh, weren't you two together a long time ago? I thought you were going to live there from now on," Lin Dazhi said as he changed into his slippers and walked toward the master bedroom.
"Lin Dazhi, stop spouting nonsense! What do you mean we were together a long time ago? I already told you we only confirmed our relationship yesterday; he only started pursuing me after he knew I was divorced! Do you think everyone is like you? Don't judge a gentleman's heart with a petty person's measure!" Zhou Yue couldn't keep her composure upon hearing Lin Dazhi's words, and she snapped back at him.
"Sure enough, she hasn't changed a bit. That little smile when I walked in earlier was probably for the sake of money," Lin Dazhi thought to himself, a mocking smile appearing on his face as he looked at the familiar Zhou Yue.
"As expected of a teacher, your words are so well-rehearsed. Zhou Yue, you shouldn't be a math teacher; you should be a language arts teacher," Lin Dazhi said with a chuckle, showing no signs of anger at all.
"Lin Dazhi, stop being so sarcastic! Just tell me if I'm right or not! You say Bai Weiwei only got together with you yesterday—do you think anyone would believe that? She's only been with you for a day and she already handed over a hundred million in assets to you? Do you think Bai Weiwei is stupid, or do you think I'm stupid?" Zhou Yue said, staring at Lin Dazhi with a livid face.
However, as soon as the words left her mouth, she felt a bit of regret.
Originally, she had made up her mind that if Lin Dazhi returned home, she would be pleasant to him and give him some sweetness. After all, if she wanted to remarry, she couldn't use her old ways on him anymore.
But thinking it in her heart was one thing, and seeing Lin Dazhi was another.
For some reason, whenever this man spoke, she felt the urge to refute him and lecture him.
Especially since the divorce, Zhou Yue felt that Lin Dazhi had become increasingly brazen. In the past, when he was with her, he knew how to hold back and say less of what she didn't want to hear, but now his true nature was fully exposed, and he said whatever he wanted.
Looking at Lin Dazhi's half-smiling gaze, the anger Zhou Yue had intended to suppress could no longer be contained.
"Lin Dazhi, what do you mean by looking at me like that? Did I hit a sore spot? When you were courting me, you were so solemn, saying you'd only love me in this life and only treat me well—and now? The moment the ink dried on the divorce papers, you were already in bed with my best friend. Lin Dazhi, don't you think you're being excessive?" Zhou Yue shrieked, simultaneously slamming the remote control in her hand onto the floor.
With a crisp "crack," the remote control shattered into pieces, and the batteries flew out.
Seeing this, Lin Dazhi's expression remained unchanged. He took out his phone, opened a shopping app, found the order in his purchase history, and bought a new remote control.
Then, he shook his phone at Zhou Yue and said calmly, "The remote control costs 25 yuan. The divorce agreement states that while you are divorced, you are not moving out; you only have the right to reside here and use the items in the house, but you have no ownership. Everything in this house is mine, including this remote control. 25 yuan, please transfer it to me."
"What? He's actually asking me for money for the remote? He dares? No, is that the point?"
Hearing Lin Dazhi's words, Zhou Yue's anger grew even more!
"Lin Dazhi, stop changing the subject! Talk about you and Bai Weiwei!" Zhou Yue shrieked.
"What about me and Bai Weiwei? It's just a normal relationship between a man and a woman. Oh, right, you said it wasn't excessive—we are both single now, so what's wrong with being together?" Lin Dazhi looked at Bai Weiwei with a look of bewilderment.
"Oh, right, since you want to talk about this, I have something to ask you too. Two months ago, you said the school was sending you to participate in teacher training—I remember it was at the Teacher Education Base in Qinghe County, right? But why is there a record of you checking into the Haiyue Hotel in the county seat? And you checked in with Liu Haibo. Shouldn't you explain this?" Lin Dazhi said lazily.
"Lin Dazhi, you're spouting nonsense and making false accusations! You say I checked into a hotel with Liu Haibo—what proof do you have?" Hearing Lin Dazhi's words, Zhou Yue lost her composure and shrieked hysterically.
"Proof? Fine, don't be in such a hurry, let me find it for you," Lin Dazhi said, walking to the bedroom and taking out a bag.
After rummaging through it for a while, he took out a stack of papers.
"Look, there's more than just this. This is from six months ago, twice; this is from May, six times; and this one, and this one..."
In Lin Dazhi's hand was a stack of hotel check-in records; a rough glance showed there were over forty of them.
Looking at these check-in records, Zhou Yue's face turned from pale to green.
The next second, she snatched the materials from Lin Dazhi's hand and tore them up viciously!
"Lin Dazhi, you petty person! You actually had someone follow me and investigate me?" Zhou Yue was like a madwoman, tearing at the check-in records, her expression ferocious and terrifying, as if she wanted to eat someone.
Lin Dazhi just watched calmly as Zhou Yue went crazy, watching her tear those papers into tiny shreds and throw them all over the floor, without saying a word.
"What can these prove? Yes, we went to a hotel, but that was for work! I signed up for a teaching project led by Director Liu, and I went to the hotel with him to refine the project. He said the school was too noisy and the environment wasn't good, so that's why we went outside—it's not at all what you think!" Zhou Yue glared at Lin Dazhi, panting heavily as she spoke.
