Thus, 《Immortal》 and mainstream novels differ greatly in emphasis and structure.

They need to be swift and concise; we need to unfold things gradually and thoroughly.

And we must possess extremely high originality.

The higher the originality of a work, the harder it is to write—forging your own path inevitably means cutting through thorns and brambles.

Some in the comments keep saying I'm padding the word count, but in fact, up to now, I've already cut over 20,000 words of stored drafts from the 《Earth Mother》 arc, which together amount to more than ten additional chapters. But that would be irresponsible. I'd rather pour my effort into what no one sees than let the quality of 《Immortal》 decline.
