Chapter 800: Unnatural Great Demon
Li Yi moved through the battlefield, leaving no one daring to face his blade; the great demons and cultivators could only flee at his approach, for they knew well that encountering Li Yi meant certain death.
But the evolvers would not let them escape—they clung desperately, pinning them down so they could not break away, creating opportunities for Li Yi to strike them down.
A crimson-gold divine light slashed from afar, tearing through the heavens, aimed at a cultivator of Mahayana mid-stage.
This cultivator had intended to flee the battlefield, but He Zhiming had disrupted him, forcing him to miss the perfect chance to escape—so when Li Yi's attack came, the Mahayana cultivator could only roar in frustration, bellow in rage, and curse bitterly.
Yet it was useless.
The crimson-gold light swept past—the mighty Mahayana enemy instantly shattered, not even bones left behind.
"Li Yi, well done." He Zhiming was battered and panting, but seeing such a clean, decisive strike eliminate this Mahayana cultivator, he could not help but cheer.
Li Yi gave no reply; he stepped upon auspicious clouds and had already flown away, heading toward another battlefield.
He Zhiming did not idle either—he immediately flew toward his nearest ally to continue supporting others.
This was the chain reaction.
Every enemy Li Yi killed freed up evolvers to assist others.
In one-on-one combat, evolvers might not match great demons or Mahayana cultivators—but with two or three working together, the odds shifted, especially as many on the battlefield began to flee.
In mere moments, the war seemed over; only a handful still fought.
Li Yi scanned the field—and for a moment, could not find a single enemy.
"Did the rest just run?"
His gaze shifted slightly; he sensed the qi of the land—and found many enemy auras had already fled the battlefield, scattered sparsely across various locations.
And some of those auras were fading further.
Clearly, the Mahayana cultivators were doing everything they could to hide, avoiding detection.
"Li Yi, I'm fine here—I don't need support."
Liu Yunbai stood midair, flanked by three comrades; on the ground lay the shattered corpse of a great demon.
Though battered, the four had won this localized battle through coordinated effort.
"The enemies on the battlefield are nearly gone—they've all fled," Li Yi said, halting his auspicious clouds.
Liu Yunbai paused, then swept his spiritual sense across the nearby battlefield—confirmed it was true. "They fled so quickly? Li Yi, don't worry. Once war begins, it lasts at least twelve hours before ending. During that time, they dare not leave the battlefield—otherwise, the three sides' strongest can strike down any deserter."
"We have eleven hours to hunt them down slowly. They won't escape."
"I see. That's good." Li Yi nodded slightly.
No wonder their auras still lingered on the battlefield—they weren't unwilling to flee, but afraid to.
"But if you pursue them, be careful near the Xuanxian Continent or the Demon God Realm's encampment—I fear Immortal Realm cultivators or Demon Kings may intervene."
"Li Yi, if enemies get too close to our encampment, don't go near them. If they break the rules and attack you, it'll be dangerous. Wait until this battle ends completely—we'll gather our squads, confirm our numbers, then hunt them together. You just retreat near the Black Great Wall."
His plan was thorough—he didn't want Li Yi, a top-tier combatant, to be harmed. Now that victory was assured, Li Yi must not show himself again.
"Understood. I'll make one more pass. If no enemies remain, I'll withdraw and rest."
Li Yi nodded slightly, no longer pressing his advantage—Liu Yunbai's words were sound.
If he pushed too hard and the Demon Kings or Immortals intervened, it would be disastrous.
"Wait."
Just as Li Yi was about to leave, Liu Yunbai suddenly tensed, glancing toward another direction. "Li Yi—something's wrong. A great demon is charging this way—its target… seems to be you."
"I felt it—a powerful demonic aura. Likely a peak great demon. But it's alone. With the tide turned, one peak great demon can't change anything. I'll cut it down."
Li Yi gripped his crimson-gold Shuixing Spear, preparing to meet the great demon.
"No, Li Yi—don't engage it. Keep your distance. In this situation, a great demon who doesn't flee but actively seeks you out? Something's wrong. I'll take a few comrades to intercept and scout."
Liu Yunbai's gaze flickered, blocking Li Yi's path, then called to his three comrades—they immediately flew toward the distance.
"Be careful—I'll support you from afar."
Li Yi accepted the offer without refusal; his form blurred into a haze of mist and vanished, his aura hidden. He sheathed his spear and drew the Precious Moon Bow, ready to strike at any moment.
Liu Yunbai and the three powerful evolvers flew only a short distance before spotting a white elephant great demon, brimming with murderous intent, charging straight toward them. But this great demon had clearly fought hard—his aura fluctuated wildly, his demonic power severely depleted.
"That's the great demon Baoxiang—one of the three leaders of the Demon God Realm this time. Ye Jingtian was supposed to hold him back—now he's breaking free and coming here. Has something happened to Ye Jingtian?" Liu Yunbai frowned.
"We can't check on Ye Jingtian now. This great demon is suspicious—he ignored everyone else and came straight here. Maybe he really is after Li Yi," said another evolver named Qi Xiong.
"His condition is poor. Let's four of us ambush him here. Don't let Li Yi show himself—avoid any unforeseen danger," added another evolver.
They were no newcomers—their combat instincts were sharp.
"Alright. Attack." Liu Yunbai nodded. The next instant—
The four joined forces, unleashing cosmic energy from within their bodies—like stars blazing across the battlefield.
Though exhausted, they poured every last ounce into a peak strike, aiming to crush the great demon with their combined might.
"Get out of my way!"
Seeing the four evolvers blocking his path, Baoxiang flew into a rage—he had no time to waste on them. He swung his massive club again, unleashing terrifying demonic power that, entwined with Dao traces, formed a colossal white divine elephant stomping across mountains and rivers.
The divine elephant roared, its divine power exploding as it met the four.
BOOM!
The battlefield, moments ago nearly silent, erupted once more—energy clashed with demonic power, triggering a massive explosion that sought to obliterate everything.
"Watch out!"
Liu Yunbai instantly braced against the surging residual force.
The power of a peak great demon was terrifying. Even with their guard up, the four were still thrown back by the demonic shockwave—each spitting blood as they flew backward.
Fortunately, they were only wounded—not mortally.
"He's definitely up to something. He came at us with full force immediately—trying to break through fast. But unfortunately, four of us together are beyond his reach," Liu Yunbai wiped blood from his lips, his expression calm.
As the residual force faded—
Baoxiang saw the four still standing—his fury exploded. He hadn't found Li Yi yet; he couldn't afford to waste more time. Other evolvers were already flying toward him—if he stayed, he'd be surrounded and killed.
Once, great demons had hunted evolvers. Now, he was the one being hunted.
He tried to lift his club again—but his demonic power was nearly gone.
After the relentless battles and that final peak strike, Baoxiang could no longer fight.
But—
As Baoxiang sensed the three terrifying Demon King powers within him, a cruel smile curled on his lips.
Since these fools wouldn't let him break free, he'd use one Demon King power to wipe them all out. He still had two left—enough to kill Li Yi.
With that thought—
A brilliant radiance suddenly burst from Baoxiang's body, soaring into the sky, transforming into a luminous full moon. All of heaven and earth shimmered with a silver glow under its light.
Yet within that radiance pulsed endless malice and lethal danger.
Liu Yunbai, Qi Xiong, and the other two evolvers' souls screamed warnings—they sensed a terrifying, fatal threat, its source the luminous moon above Baoxiang's head.
"This isn't the power of a great demon—it's a Demon King's aura!" Liu Yunbai gasped, then roared: "Retreat! Flee now! Don't hesitate—he's borrowed Demon King power!"
Before he finished speaking—
The four scattered in all directions, denying the enemy a chance to trap and annihilate them.
Liu Yunbai inwardly rejoiced—his suspicion had been right. This great demon was indeed dangerous. This attack wasn't meant for them—it was meant for Li Yi.
"Don't think you can run! Die here!" Baoxiang roared. Using one fragment of Demon King power, he refused to let them escape—had they not blocked him, he might have already found and slain Li Yi.
Yet at that very moment—
Suddenly—
A divine light shot from afar, arriving in a flash.
It was an arrow, brimming with terrifying power, razor-sharp and unstoppable—even the peak great demon Baoxiang could not stop it.
The arrow pierced through his body.
Baoxiang's massive, muscular frame instantly exploded into fragments. As his shattered head dissolved, his eyes lost their fury—only confusion remained.
He hadn't expected to die so casually.
"Li Yi struck," Qi Xiong, who had retreated swiftly, sighed in relief.
Only Li Yi could so easily slay a peak great demon on the battlefield.
"Li Yi wanted to kill this great demon Baoxiang to stop him from using the Demon King power—good idea. But that full moon hasn't vanished," Liu Yunbai's unease remained.
Because the terrifying Demon King power still lingered.
No—wrong.
Not just one Demon King power—there were two more.
Then the others noticed—on the shattered remains of Baoxiang, two brilliant orbs of light remained, each radiating the aura of a Demon King power. But these two had not yet activated—currently harmless.
