Chapter 852: Point and Stop
The garrison on the Immortal Continent of Xuanxian was now being destroyed, and such a massive commotion naturally drew the attention of the other two great realms.
Especially the two Demon Kings of the Demon God Realm, who had already assembled all their great demons and prepared for battle, though Silver Fang Demon King and Golden Feather Demon King still hesitated whether to join in.
"Aren't Earth's evolvers nearly crushed? How could they still possess such a powerful force? Each expert they've sent out is no weaker than a great demon, and their weapons are highly unusual, granting them tremendous combat power. Those despicable cultivators are no match at all—even Immortals have fallen one after another. They're going to lose."
Silver Fang Demon King's emerald eyes flickered slightly as he sensed the residual shockwaves of battle, clearly judging the opponent's strength.
"Hey, Golden Feather, if Earth's evolvers turn the tide, our Demon God Realm will be in serious trouble. Should we step in and exterminate these Earth experts?"
Golden Feather Demon King replied coldly: "The outcome of this battlefield isn't decided by Mahayana cultivators or these trash-like evolvers. The true battlefield is in the sky—those two women are fighting the True Immortals. If those two True Immortals win, Earth's evolvers will be purged immediately. If Earth wins, we can still decide whether to intervene later."
He knew full well the potential of Earth's evolvers: tens of millions of cultivators roaming across realms were a dire threat to every great realm, so they must be suppressed by any means necessary—otherwise, should Earth rise, the Demon God Realm might be invaded.
Unfortunately, the Demon God Realm wasn't unified; only three Demon Kings had crossed realms to fight, and Heavenly Moon Demon King had died foolishly, forcing the two of them to temper their arrogance.
If more Demon Kings from the Demon God Realm were willing to cross realms and fight, none of this would have happened.
"I say we strike now and eliminate those two women." Silver Fang Demon King gazed at the heavens, his gaze piercing through layers of obstruction to see the battle raging high above.
He sensed a dangerous aura from Xiangxiangzi and Xuan Yuezi—so potent it unsettled even him, a Demon King.
"No rush. Earth's strong ones are few, but the number of True Immortals on the Immortal Continent is unknown. If we can use Earth's hands to kill two True Immortals, that would be beneficial." Golden Feather Demon King said.
To the Demon God Realm, the Immortal Continent was also a potential enemy—and its current threat was even greater than Earth's.
Silver Fang Demon King was about to speak again when his gaze suddenly shifted to another direction.
A darkness engulfing heaven and earth rolled toward them like a tidal wave; even before it drew near, an ominous aura spread, making the great demons feel deeply uneasy—as if they were born to despise it.
"Those treacherous evil gods can't hold back any longer," Silver Fang Demon King said, his murderous intent intensifying as he faced the darkness.
The evil gods loved to corrupt great demons into darkness, turning them into their puppets—simply because great demons were powerful and easily swayed, whereas cultivators, once they passed the Thunder Tribulation, were nearly immune to the evil gods' influence.
This was due to differences in cultivation systems, not strength.
"These rats are clearly trying to profit from chaos. Ignore them for now—we'll deal with them later," Golden Feather Demon King said coldly.
Meanwhile,
high above, Daoist arts surged and immortal light splashed.
Xiangxiangzi and Xuan Yuezi were locked in fierce combat with two True Immortals, unleashing countless techniques in rapid exchange, neither able to kill the other. As Daoists, though their Dao arts were exquisite and their magic power vast, with the Three Flowers blooming, the True Immortals too possessed profound foundations and ferocious immortal energy.
Only if the two joined forces to overwhelm one could they hope to win; otherwise, even if they fought for three days and nights, no victor would emerge.
"Truly, these are cultivators from a great realm—their spells are astonishingly refined. Those three Dao flowers hang down, drawing upon the power of heaven and earth, never exhausting their strength, and their Five Qi guard their chest, rendering them invulnerable to all arts—a near-perfect cultivation method."
One True Immortal, having fought Xiangxiangzi for a long time, silently marveled—and became even more certain that such powerful beings were not limited to just two; the great realm behind them must be dazzlingly brilliant.
Thus, he had no desire for a deadly fight—killing even one such strong opponent would surely bring endless troubles.
As an immortal who had achieved immortality, he would never risk his life over a petty grudge with a peer.
"Immortal Lady, neither of us can defeat the other. Let's call it a draw. The Immortal Continent agrees to withdraw from Earth—let our grievances end here." The True Immortal said calmly.
The battle had lost all meaning—he had seen the garrison on Earth destroyed, all Mahayana cultivators and remaining Immortals slain.
Earth's evolvers had won this war.
Xiangxiangzi snorted: "Now that you're losing, you want to retreat? The world doesn't work that way. If you want to end this, first compensate me with a few immortal artifacts. Otherwise, my realm's Daoists will surely come to the Immortal Continent to demand justice."
After fighting, she understood: the only way to kill this True Immortal was to open a cross-realm gate and harness the incense power of the Incense World to boost her strength.
But a True Immortal who had lived for countless years—even if outmatched—could always escape.
Though her Great Perfection realm was slightly stronger than a True Immortal's, without overwhelming dominance, killing the opponent was impossible.
Facing Xiangxiangzi's threat, the True Immortal fell silent for a moment, then simply swept his sleeve—three lower-grade immortal artifacts flew out. "If Immortal Lady keeps her word, these three artifacts make a suitable apology."
Xiangxiangzi stared at the flying artifacts, startled—she hadn't expected the True Immortal to be so quick to give them up. Was he truly without pride? Or was Tai Yi right: the Immortal Continent was born with weak bones—even True Immortals were no exception.
"Since you're so reasonable, this Immortal Lady will overlook past grievances." She took the three artifacts and added: "But only this once. Next time, it won't be just me coming."
"Naturally. Since the Immortal Continent has abandoned its Earth garrison, we will not trouble Earth again," the True Immortal said—he had his own plans and considerations.
With the Demon God Realm, the Dark World, and these Daoists appearing, and Earth's evolvers rising, the Immortal Continent could no longer control the situation. Repeated battles had already cost them many top experts.
Now that the garrison was destroyed, it was better to withdraw entirely and observe Earth's developments from afar.
"Xuan Yuezi, stop. No more fighting. This matter ends here—the Immortal Continent's True Immortals have agreed to withdraw from Earth." Xiangxiangzi called out again.
As her voice faded, a figure stepped down from a cloud of auspicious light far away. Xuan Yuezi's hair was disheveled, breathing slightly hard. She said nothing, only fixed her gaze on the female Immortal.
Both had fought fiercely, each determined to kill the other—but each held hidden cards, and neither could gain the upper hand.
The female True Immortal also glared at Xuan Yuezi with murderous intent—if not for the bigger picture, she would have continued the fight.
"True Immortal Taihao, why stop?" The female True Immortal frowned, whispering to her companion: "We haven't probed their limits yet. Several of our comrades are watching from the shadows—if they joined, killing these two would be easy."
Though she questioned, she spoke only through inner voice, not aloud.
Taihao True Immortal remained calm: "Enough. Their Dao arts are astonishing, their foundations profound—they must come from a flourishing great realm, likely a major sect. Killing these two means war with their realm. How foolish would that be? Besides, I have no confidence I can kill them."
"Ending it now, withdrawing, and watching from the sidelines is the safest course. Do you want six True Immortals to descend and shatter Earth? Don't forget—so far, the great demons of the Demon God Realm haven't moved, and the evil gods of the Dark World are still watching."
Hearing this, the female True Immortal frowned and finally noticed the surrounding situation.
She hadn't paid attention before, but now she saw how dire things were.
"Let's go. I've already discussed with the other True Immortals—they all agree to temporarily abandon Earth. No large-scale invasion." Taihao True Immortal said calmly.
"If it's decided, then fine. But these two got lucky—they escaped with their lives." The female True Immortal said.
"Xuan Yuezi, you didn't break her spirit—she still wants you dead," Xiangxiangzi warned, watching the female True Immortal, then whispering.
"Her immortal artifact surpasses my Crimson Gold Dao artifact. And I broke through to Great Perfection too quickly—I haven't fully mastered several Dao arts." Xuan Yuezi replied.
Only after fighting did she realize her own flaws.
These True Immortals had cultivated for at least a thousand years, with solid foundations. She had been at the Two Flowers realm during the End of the Dharma Age, and only after destruction and rebirth had she reached the Three Flowers realm. Logically, she needed centuries more to reach Great Perfection.
But through various strokes of fortune, she reached Great Perfection quickly. Though now immortal and with boundless magic power, her combat strength hadn't caught up.
"It's the same for me. After this battle, we must forge Dao artifacts—otherwise, we can't kill True Immortals," Xiangxiangzi replied. "That's why I didn't choose a fight to the death today."
"They're the same—they didn't fight to the death either. But if we truly had to, we wouldn't fear it. Tai Yi gave us a flesh-body Bodhisattva statue as a last resort. And four True Immortals are watching from afar—one of them is Cangerzi. If those four descend, Cangerzi will strike instantly and kill one."
Xiangxiangzi then gazed toward the Immortal Continent.
There, four immortal lights glowed steadily, echoing the two True Immortals here.
Within one of those lights, Cangerzi's aura leaked out.
Clearly, Cangerzi had infiltrated the Immortal Continent's elite as a True Immortal. Though no one knew how he did it, both women knew: in his prime, Cangerzi was almost certainly a Dao-attained being.
"Immortal Ladies, until we meet again," Taihao True Immortal, seeing the tide had turned, avoided further conflict and immediately took the female True Immortal with him, transforming into a streak of immortal light toward the Immortal Continent.
As for the garrison, the True Immortals had tacitly abandoned it.
Xiangxiangzi and Xuan Yuezi watched them leave, remaining alert—afraid of a sudden counterattack.
