Chapter 881: Entering the Three Flowers
BOOM!
A series of thunderous tribulations descended, briefly shattering the stillness of this strange land.
Su Xing was undergoing the tribulation.
But for Evolvers, such tribulations posed no threat and carried no risk of death, for Evolvers cultivate multiple paths simultaneously, their foundations deep and solid, with no obvious weaknesses.
Unlike cultivators, who often fail their thunder tribulations and have their bodies shattered by lightning.
Yet the roaring thunder echoed and reverberated, disturbing hidden dangers within this strange land—a peculiar aura began spreading from its depths.
This aura caused Evolvers to feel a deep unease; it was neither human nor that of a cultivator, radiating a fierce ferocity.
Many turned their gazes sharply toward the source of the aura.
"No mistake—this must be a mythic beast dwelling here, but this aura is astonishingly intense."
"This place has an incredible time flow. If a mythic beast wandered in here and survived the temporal forces, its power must be immense. It may have only stayed here a few months, but could have lingered for centuries, even millennia. Under such time, any monstrous evolution is unsurprising." Zheng Duoduo leapt into the air, donning the Crimson Gold Battle Armor Li Yi had gifted her, prepared for the worst.
"Let's join forces and kill this mythic beast. We're short on resources—slaying it would give us enough to cultivate here for a long time."
A former Earth Defense Line expert charged forward—he was Long Jie, once Zheng Duoduo's teammate.
"Count me in." Immediately, other familiar comrades flew out.
In an instant, five had gathered.
After rigorous cultivation, their strength had advanced markedly, and with Crimson Gold Dao Artifacts in hand, together they dared challenge even Immortals.
But the next moment.
A roar, like that of a dragon-beast, suddenly erupted—infused with boundless power, it shattered mountains and rivers, and ancient trees exploded into dust in an instant.
Had it not been for the crisscrossing temporal forces here forming barriers, this power could have shaken a thousand li.
"This power feels off."
Feeling the residual might of the roar, everyone's faces turned pale. They were battle-hardened veterans and instantly judged the mythic beast's approximate strength.
Far beyond a Great Demon—possibly even reaching the level of a Demon King.
The five experts who had planned to hunt the mythical beast now felt an overwhelming urge to retreat. They exchanged glances, silently asking each other: Should we fight?
Though one-on-one meant certain defeat, together they might still have a chance.
But was it worth the risk?
"Let's risk it. If we don't kill this mythic beast, this place will always be dangerous. We're clearing the path for others—and this is Earth. If we let it run wild, it'll bring catastrophe to the cities."
Long Jie took a deep breath and made his decision: "This isn't the past. We barely won the Cross-Domain War, drove off multiple powerful enemies—now we retreat from a mythic beast? That'd be a joke."
"But if the power gap is too great, we retreat immediately. No stubborn stand."
"Of course." The others nodded in agreement.
But the next moment.
From the depths of the strange land, roars came in rapid succession. Surrounding mountains shattered, the ground cracked open, and then a scorching energy field surged toward them, rapidly enveloping the area.
Under its influence, everything around began smoking, as if about to ignite.
Amid the thick smoke, a beast the size of a small mountain, lion-bodied with a dragon's head, charged into view.
At a single glance, everyone recognized the identity of the mythic beast.
It was no lion—it was a Suanni.
A progeny of the True Dragon, according to legend.
Its body, forged like bronze, was unbreakable; every movement radiated supreme divine power. The Suanni itself exuded divine majesty, instilling awe and deterring any from daring to oppose it.
"Damn, a dragon-blooded beast! I've hunted mythic beasts before, but never one this advanced." Long Jie swallowed hard, gripping his Crimson Gold Divine Sword tightly.
Without the divine weapon Li Yi had gifted him, he'd never have dared to join others in hunting this mythic beast.
Yet now that he faced the enemy, he realized he'd overestimated himself—even with five wielding divine weapons, they might still not be its match.
"Long Jie, abandon the hunt. Leave this place. Don't engage the mythic beast." At once, Zheng Duoduo changed her mind, calling out to the others to alter their course.
Only now, face to face, did she realize how powerful the opponent was. Forcing a fight would mean casualties—and that would be pointless.
"It's too late to run now. The Suanni has locked onto us. If we scatter, one of us will be targeted and die here. Fight together—we might still drive it off. Mythic beasts of this level won't fight to the death if they see no gain."
Long Jie rejected Zheng Duoduo's suggestion and laid out his reasoning.
The others accepted it.
Fleeing now meant sacrificing one.
They were comrades who had fought side by side on the Earth Defense Line. Running now meant betraying a teammate.
So they agreed with Long Jie's plan: unite to repel the mythic beast and resolve this crisis.
During this brief exchange,
the Suanni had already charged forward, furious, fixated on Long Jie. It crossed the sky at incredible speed, yet its body did not move in a straight line—it twisted, leapt, and zigzagged through the air, as if avoiding something.
"No way—is this mythic beast avoiding the temporal force zones?" An Evolver realized it instantly and cried out.
"Incredible speed." But Long Jie's heart lurched.
Despite its erratic movements, the Suanni reached him in an instant.
BOOM!
Boundless divine power erupted.
Long Jie and his comrades refused to yield, unleashing all their magic power. Their Crimson Gold Divine Swords blazed with brilliant light. They held nothing back—aiming for a single decisive blow.
It was a battlefield habit: strike full force from the start.
BOOM.
The two forces collided. The shockwave spread terrifyingly—but the mythic beast's power clearly dominated. With a single surge, it blasted Long Jie, Zheng Duoduo, and the other three Evolvers flying.
The force made their Crimson Gold Battle Armors creak as if about to break.
Fortunately, the armor's defense held. Though hurled violently, it saved their lives—otherwise, one blow would have shattered their bodies instantly.
Yet after the five crashed to the ground and rose again, they each spat blood, heads throbbing with unbearable pain.
"Soul attack—the Suanni's strike carried potent soul energy." Zheng Duoduo's face turned instantly pale.
She had blocked the Suanni's divine power—but not the hidden force.
Soul attacks were exceedingly rare. Even on the battlefield, only a few treacherous Mahayana cultivators knew them.
"You were right to warn us. This Suanni's power far exceeds our expectations. In the Demon God Realm, it would be a Demon King. That last strike—it didn't even use its full strength." Long Jie spat blood, realizing the danger.
"Everyone, retreat immediately. Don't hesitate. Scatter. Use the temporal forces as cover—there's still a chance to escape."
But his words were cut short.
The next moment.
A towering figure suddenly appeared before him. The Suanni exhaled like twin volcanic eruptions, belching thick smoke. Its massive eyes fixed on Long Jie, brimming with murderous intent.
Long Jie's pupils shrank sharply. He ignored everything else, pouring all his magic power into his Crimson Gold Battle Armor, hoping to withstand the Suanni's blow and buy time for the others to flee.
Yet just as he thought he would die here—
the unexpected happened.
The mythic beast Suanni suddenly grew agitated, its murderous intent receding. It turned sharply, alert, staring toward its rear.
More than killing this prey, the Suanni sensed a greater danger.
"You're not cultivating properly—why make such a racket? Even my secluded retreat deep in the mountains was disturbed." A familiar voice rang out. Li Yi appeared before them, dusty and disheveled.
He had been in seclusion when the Suanni's roar shook him straight into the mountains—this angered him.
Had he not been under the temporal forces, weakening his perception, Li Yi would have avoided it entirely—he wouldn't have looked so battered.
Yet despite his dusty appearance, a vast, ethereal Dao flower had bloomed above his head.
The appearance of this Dao flower meant he had successfully entered the Three Flowers Realm.
