Chapter 975: Heavenly General Battle
Another day passed, and Li Yi, accompanied by the Dragon Girl, boarded the Realm Boat bound for the Third Heaven, following the directions.
The Realm Boat was grand and massive, internally containing its own space, capable of carrying countless passengers in a single journey, earning untold numbers of Nine Heaven Jade Dews per trip.
After boarding, Li Yi glanced at his ticket and quickly found a quiet chamber.
The chamber was small, like a tiny courtyard, planted with flowers and herbs, filling the air with fragrance.
“Even aboard the Realm Boat, reaching the Third Heaven requires eight months—perfect. I’ll use this time to continue my cultivation.”
After entering the quiet chamber aboard the Realm Boat, Li Yi sealed himself inside, preparing to enter seclusion and avoid trouble, for his sole purpose was to safely escort Hua Qing home.
After giving a few instructions to the Dragon Girl Yu Chang, Li Yi began his cultivation. His Five Elemental Divine Light Art was already at the entry level; now was the time to press the advantage and elevate it to a deeper level.
At the same time, he could not neglect the True Dragon Striking Heaven Art.
Furthermore, his Reverse Scale Battle Armor required cultivation through Primordial Spirit energy to achieve unity of mind and armor and unleash its full power. As for the sword of the Rakshasa’s Held Power Heavenly King, Li Yi, out of caution, did not touch it.
He feared that touching it would draw the Rakshasa’s attention; this boat carried countless cultivators, and another encounter with the Rakshasa was not impossible.
Meanwhile, as Li Yi entered seclusion.
The massive Realm Boat activated.
Amid a terrifying surge of energy tides, space rippled, and the boat slowly glided forward—within a single flicker, it vanished into the cloud sea, unseen.
This was a form of spatial teleportation: the Realm Boat could instantly traverse vast distances upon movement, arriving at the next stop. After a brief pause there, it would activate again, continuing the teleportation, and so on.
Even so, no Realm Boat could circumnavigate the Heavenly Realm; each had its own fixed route.
Soon after the boat activated.
Suddenly.
The Dragon Girl Yu Chang, who had been meditating with closed eyes, suddenly sensed something—her vertical pupils instantly turned toward the direction outside the quiet chamber. Though a door blocked her view, she could still feel it.
Someone was outside.
And their strength was not weak—a Heavenly General-level demonic cultivator.
Yet Yu Chang was puzzled. Since leaving the Dragon Palace’s Treasure Vault, she had had no contact with anyone, and Tai Yi had likewise spent most of his time in seclusion, only purchasing a few tickets.
“The visitor has ill intent.”
The Dragon Girl Yu Chang sensed a hint of malice. She glanced at the adjacent quiet chamber, thinking Tai Yi was in cultivation and likely disliked being disturbed, so she did not inform him.
“I’ll issue a warning.” The Dragon Girl Yu Chang rose, alert.
She reached the door but did not open it—only shouted: “Whoever is outside, leave immediately. Do not loiter by my door, or you risk drawing disaster upon yourself.”
Though the door could not truly deter a Heavenly General-level stranger, it was the boat’s rule.
If the intruder chose to force entry, he would be openly defying the Boat Guard, and would inevitably face retribution—even a Heavenly King would pay a heavy price.
Yet the shadow outside did not leave or respond, merely standing silently nearby, ignoring Yu Chang’s warning entirely.
This unusual behavior made the Dragon Girl Yu Chang frown—then her vertical pupils turned cold, her skin sprouting scales, her body partially transforming into dragon form. Her entire being shimmered with divine light, ready to strike at any moment.
“If you do not leave, do not blame me for acting.”
She issued another warning.
Not far outside the quiet chamber stood a chilling demonic cultivator. He gave no reply, merely waiting for the right moment.
That moment: when the Realm Boat docked.
Then he would have a brief window to strike.
He glanced left and right.
Two Rakshasa Heavenly Generals stood nearby, not approaching, fearing their Rakshasa aura might alert the target.
As minutes passed.
Across the quiet chamber’s door, both sides fell into silent standoff.
The Dragon Girl Yu Chang dared not act rashly; they, too, waited for the moment.
But soon.
The massive Realm Boat crossed space and arrived at the next stop, beginning a brief halt.
In that instant, three terrifying killing intents erupted.
The two Rakshasa Heavenly Generals, joined by the hired demonic Heavenly General, launched a united, devastating strike—aiming to instantly kill the Dragon Girl, severely wound Li Yi, then seize them both from this place.
BOOM! A terrifying energy surge exploded.
Yet for the massive Realm Boat, it caused not the slightest tremor.
Instead, nearby chamber occupants immediately sensed danger, their faces pale as they burst out.
“Who dares attack inside the Realm Boat? Don’t they fear being captured and beheaded by the Boat Guard?”
“It’s the Rakshasa Heavenly Generals—no surprise. Get away from these lunatics.”
“Alert the Boat Guard.”
Instantly, brief chaos erupted.
But the three Heavenly Generals’ combined strike had already shattered the quiet chamber.
“Good.” The two Rakshasa Heavenly Generals rejoiced—but then worried: had they struck too hard? Had the two been reduced to dust?
Logically, this shouldn’t be. Their strike targeted the Dragon Girl; they hadn’t intended to kill the human cultivator—they wanted captives.
Yet the next moment, their expressions changed instantly.
A figure stood unharmed amid the residual energy, clad in a fearsome, magnificent Reverse Scale Battle Armor, radiating light, having withstood the three Heavenly Generals’ assault.
“A Heavenly King’s armor?” The Rakshasa Heavenly General Li Bei gasped.
What nonsense.
A mere Heavenly General possessing a Heavenly King’s armor? But they quickly realized: if he could afford to buy a Dragon Girl from the Dragon Palace’s Treasure Vault, how could he not afford a Heavenly King’s armor?
This was problematic. “Rakshasa pair, you’ve been watching me for a long time. Why attack me without cause?” Li Yi, clad in his Reverse Scale Battle Armor, violet lightning coiling around him, roared like a Thunder Bureau Deity, majestic and awe-inspiring.
Beside him, the Dragon Girl Yu Chang exhaled slightly—had Li Yi not appeared in time, she would have been obliterated by their combined strike.
So treacherous.
After all, this was inside the Realm Boat—few dared act so brazenly. But since they were Rakshasa, it was no surprise; their cultivators were all mad, beyond reason.
“Human cultivator, have you seen the Held Power Heavenly King or Princess Manluo?” Li Bei roared.
Li Yi replied coldly: “Never seen them. Don’t know any Rakshasa.”
“Liar! Your strange flying device carried the divine blood sword aura of our Held Power Heavenly King—you’ve clearly met him!” Li Bei snarled.
Li Yi’s gaze flickered.
So that’s how it was exposed.
The Rakshasa were astute indeed—his Immortal Dao battle vessel had merely been stored near that divine blood sword, and they’d sensed it.
Yet he soon recalled Hua Qing’s words.
In the Heavenly Realm, don’t fear offending anyone.
Kill someone? Just flee.
The Heavenly Realm is vast—no one could find the killer.
“Since you’ve struck, prepare to leave your lives here. Dragon Girl, handle these two Rakshasa—I’ll deal with the other.” Li Yi shouted, then tossed out a Heavenly General weapon.
The Dragon Girl Yu Chang caught it—a delicate long saber. Her vertical pupils locked onto the demonic Heavenly General, then said: “Just hold on a while—the Boat Guard will arrive.”
She reminded Li Yi: don’t overextend; the urgency was theirs.
Li Yi said nothing.
Only his form blurred—he became a violet lightning bolt, striking toward one Rakshasa Heavenly General.
“So fast!” The Rakshasa Heavenly General’s eyes narrowed—he hastily raised his arm, gathering Rakshasa power into an unbreakable shield.
BOOM! The violet lightning struck—and Li Yi’s fist descended, five-colored divine light bursting from his knuckles, capable of annihilating all laws and destroying all life within the Five Elements.
Five Elemental Divine Light Art.
Though merely a test, the technique’s terrifying nature now fully revealed itself.
One strike.
The shield before the Rakshasa Heavenly General shattered instantly—his arm was severed, blood spraying, limbs exploding into fragments, then his entire body screamed and flew backward.
“What nonsense?” The Rakshasa Heavenly General Li Bei roared in shock and fury.
The Rakshasa were inherently fierce; in the same realm, they rivaled the Dragon Clan. Human Heavenly Generals had no racial advantage—unless armed, they could never defeat him barehanded.
Yet one of his own kind had been crippled in a single strike.
“Kill!”
After a moment of shock, Li Bei roared, drawing a crimson blood blade from his waist.
His Heavenly General weapon: the Weeping Blood Blade.
Power erupted—terrifying blade light fell, capable of slicing down stars from heaven.
Li Yi did not dodge. His Reverse Scale Battle Armor blazed with divine radiance, like a Heavenly King-level True Dragon coiled around him, shielding him utterly.
This Rakshasa Heavenly General’s strength was indeed formidable; his unleashed strike was ferocious beyond measure—but it could not pierce Li Yi’s armor.
This was a desperate situation.
The coiled True Dragon scales trembled, millions of divine lights converging into one point, absorbing the blade light and shattering it into fragments.
“Done? Now it’s my turn.”
Li Yi stepped forward—a violet lightning bolt instantly arrived, five-colored divine light slashing down, striking Li Bei directly.
Another strike—he spat blood, his body flying backward, torn by five-colored divine light, riddled with grotesque gashes, blood spurting uncontrollably.
“Bad! Situation changed—retreat!” The demonic Heavenly General fighting Yu Chang, seeing this, abandoned all else and tried to flee.
Both Rakshasa had been defeated in one strike—staying meant death.
“You won’t escape.” Yu Chang shouted—a dragon-shaped divine light flashed as she charged forward, saber in hand, striking with ferocious might.
The Dragon Princess’s combat power is already formidable, on par with the Rakshasa clan; unless outnumbered, no cultivator of this kind could possibly match her in one-on-one combat.
Not to mention this cultivator now has no will to fight, solely focused on fleeing.
The cultivator immediately took a blow and was flung backward.
