Chapter 187: C University

~5 min read 919 words

The next day.

Mu Youyu finished breakfast shortly after 8 a. m.

After last night's liveliness, the elders all went home early, and Yan Yuejiu also left.

The spacious living room was a little less noisy and a little more tranquil.

The brothers at home had different schedules: some were still sleeping, some whose offices were nearby went to work, and some had made plans with friends and left early.

Only Mu Xin, Song Huaiyu, Jun Chenling, and Qing An sat in the living room chatting idly.

Mu Xin glanced at his sister putting down her chopsticks, raised his eyes, smiled, and asked, "Dear, are you going to C University later?"

Mu Youyu nodded lightly and replied softly, "Just going to school for a bit."

Mu Xin immediately said, "Then I'll give you a ride."

Mu Youyu quickly shook her head, raised her hand and gave a light wave, a hint of obedience in her eyes: "No need to trouble me, Brother; I already made plans with A Jin to go together, we'll be fine on the way!"

Mu Xin relented.

After Mu Youyu finished packing and was ready to leave, everyone rose together, accompanying her to the front door, their eyes fixed on her.

Only after seeing her get into Jiang Liangjin's car parked at the curb and watching it drive away did they withdraw their gaze and go back inside.

Mu Xin turned to Jun Chenling beside him and asked, "So, how long can you stay in the country?"

Jun Chenling raised his eyes: "I'm not sure; my parents haven't contacted me yet."

Mu Xin nodded in understanding, didn't press further, then turned his gaze to Qing An lounging on the sofa nearby and casually asked, "And you? How long do you plan to stay?"

Qing An raised his eyebrows, his eyes full of nonchalance, and replied with a smile: "As long as Xin doesn't mind me sticking around, staying three or five years is no problem!"

Anyway, he had nothing to do, and his older siblings in M Guo were keeping an eye on things.

When he was young, he lived in the Duke's Mansion for several years, growing up playing with Mu Xin, so their bond is quite deep.

Staying at the Mu Family's home also made him especially relaxed and at ease, more so than at his own house.

Mu Xin knew his nature: "As long as you're happy, that's fine."

Having said that, he stood up and left with Jun Chenling; Qing An didn't follow, still loitering in the living room.

Song Huaiyu sat on the sofa, holding the well-behaved Glutinous Rice in his arms, his fingertips pinching a snack and slowly feeding it.

With his other hand he lightly fiddled with the Royal Badge hanging from Glutinous Rice's neck, his gaze on the badge as he turned to Qing An and asked, "This badge—did you make it for Glutinous Rice?"

Qing An immediately nodded, his tone a bit proud, and quickly replied, "Exactly, isn't it perfect for our noble princess cat?"

Song Huaiyu gave a soft 'hmm,' his eyes still on the badge, his expression calm, and didn't say anything more.

Even though Qing An had long grown accustomed to Song Huaiyu's appearance, seeing him sit quietly to the side now, he couldn't help but stare, his eyes full of curiosity.

"You and Song Huaixian look exactly alike, but your personalities are worlds apart—so interesting!"

"He's just too aloof; I don't even know what to say!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than Song Huaixian, who had just come downstairs, happened to hear them, chuckled, and said calmly, "Because I'm handsome."

Having said that, he added nothing more, picked up his coat by the door, and prepared to go out.

Qing An felt that staying at the Mu Family's was boring; thinking that he couldn't help with Mu Xin's company affairs, and besides him, the only other person in the living room was the aloof Brother Song Huaiyu!

So, seeing Song Huaixian about to leave, he quickly rose to follow, but his first step was stopped by Song Huaixian.

"I'm going out to meet someone; don't disturb us."

Song Huaixian raised his eyebrows and added, "If you're bored, go to the room on the left of the fourth floor; there are game machines and a private theater, etc."

Qing An replied resignedly, "All right."

He glanced at the aloof brother holding the cat, then sat back down on the sofa, swinging his legs listlessly.

Half an hour later, Jiang Liangjin's car steadily pulled up to the gate of C University.

Students passing by all cast curious glances.

Mu Youyu opened the car door and stepped out slowly; having just steadied herself, Yu Ling in the distance spotted her at once and happily ran over.

Yu Ling's face was full of barely contained excitement; from afar she waved her hand and shouted, "Master! Over here! Over here!"

Mu Youyu raised her hand in response.

Jiang Liangjin also got out of the car, naturally walking at her side, his gaze lightly sweeping over the passing crowd, silently protecting her.

"Master, you came so early! You're almost twenty minutes earlier than I expected!"

Yu Ling sidled up to Mu Youyu, her eyes flicking over both of them, a hint of gossip flashing in her gaze, but she didn't ask further.

Mu Youyu knew she was calculating the route from Lan Lin to C University; she smiled and said, "Coming early just means arriving early."
