Chapter 325: The Spot Next to My Younger Sister

~7 min read 1,352 words

Mu Youyu tilted her head, "Let's take a photo together, matching outfits."

The elders smiled indulgently, letting her have her way.

This remark fell into the ears of some brothers, who simultaneously gave a light cough and turned their faces away.

Jiang Liangjin let out a low chuckle from his throat, then stepped to her side, placing her in the center of the frame, "Sure, I'll follow your lead."

Song Yan poked Song Huaixian, "Did you hear? My sister wants to take a couple's photo with him—what about all of us doting on her for nothing?"

Song Huaixian gave him a lazy glance, "What else? Can you be with her twenty-four hours a day?"

Song Yusui: "Who told you not to wear matching clothes with my sister?"

Mu Xianqi stood aside with arms crossed, feeling sour inside but putting up a front: "Fine, let's take the photo—I'll stand next to the treasure later."

Mu Xin glanced at him coolly, "You're overthinking it—the spot next to my sister will only be Jiang Liangjin's."

Mu Yichen added, "Being older doesn't work either."

The Mu and Song families have always doted on the youngest.

Mu Xianqi: "……"

Before the shoot even started, the outcome had already been precisely predicted internally.

Song LuXiao suddenly said, "Aren't there two spots close by?"

Mu Xin said bluntly, "Then let's settle it with rock-paper-scissors."

Upon seeing his young master, Song Ze realized he had no intention of taking a couple's photo with the young lady, and slightly regrettably began adjusting the equipment.

After the couple's photo was taken, it was time for the family portrait.

The elders of the Mu and Song families immediately stood in the middle, smiling broadly, as the brothers automatically formed a circle, shielding Mu Youyu in the very center.

Jiang Liangjin stood to her right, his arm loosely behind her, leaning in slightly, his posture affectionate.

Mu Xi won at rock-paper-scissors and snatched the spot to her sister's left.

The brothers stood on either side, each striking in looks and aura; when the picture emerged, it was a family portrait stunning enough to shake the whole circle.

After the photo session, the elders chatted as they headed to the lounge, the younger ones dispersed, and the brothers were gradually pulled away.

Mu Nian, Mu Xianqi, and Song LuXiao were taken by the Jiang family's uncles and elders to discuss matters.

Mu Yichen, Mu Yichi, and Song Huaiyu were then summoned by Grandfather Jiang to a side area.

Lu Yuchu and Song Yan, for some reason, were surrounded by a few juniors asking for autographs, while Song Yusui hovered beside her brother to watch the fun.

Soon, most of the people who had been gathered around Mu Youyu dispersed.

In the end, only Mu Xi, Mu Xin, Song Lujing, Song Huaixian, and the ever-present Jiang Liangjin remained by her side.

Song Huaixian stood in place, turning around once, utterly bored.

He was, after all, a professional race car driver, naturally loving speed and thrill; now idle and restless, he looked at the others and said, "Staying here is so boring—there's a racing simulator upstairs. Want to go play?"

Song Lujing raised an eyebrow, "My sister isn't even of age, and you're already leading us astray?"

"It's just a little game, for fun." Song Huaixian curled his lips, feigning regret, "Never mind, let's not go..."

Mu Youyu immediately walked to his side, "I'll go!"

Jiang Liangjin naturally nodded, "Upstairs."

Mu Xi replied indifferently, "Let's go."

A few of them went upstairs together; upon reaching the gaming area, they saw two familiar figures leaning against the game machines.

Yu Ci held a game controller, having played all morning; turning his head, he saw them and his eyes lit up, "Oh, what a coincidence!"

Gu Xingnan gave a slight nod, "A Ci just said he wanted to meet you guys."

"How did you end up here?" Mu Youyu laughed as she walked over.

"It's too dull at home; I came out for some peace." Yu Ci shook the controller, "Perfect—shall we have a match?"

Song Huaixian's interest sparked instantly, "Let's race—I've never feared anyone in a driving game."

Jiang Liangjin helped Mu Youyu sit at the gaming machine, "Sit here."

Yu Ci glanced over and clicked his tongue twice, "Goodness, A Jin didn't notice us?"

Jiang Liangjin lifted his eyes slightly, "I saw you."

Yu Ci spread his hands, "And then? Nothing to say?"

Jiang Liangjin said calmly, "I'm glad to have run into you."

Mu Youyu couldn't help but laugh.

A few brothers glanced at him, then looked away.

"What are you talking about?" Song Lujing had just come back with an ice cream, slowly scooping it with a small spoon, looking utterly confused.

Yu Ci waved a hand, grinning, "Lu Jing-ge, great to meet you."

Song Lujing was even more bewildered.

"Come on, let's start the match!" Yu Ci, unwilling to dwell on the topic any longer, his enthusiasm high, "A Nan, make room for them to play."

Gu Xingnan rose obediently, instinctively standing to Yu Ci's side, falling back half a step.

Jiang Liangjin helpfully adjusted the seat and steering wheel height, "Let me know if it's uncomfortable."

"Got it." Mu Youyu nodded obediently, her fingers touching the steering wheel.

Mu Xi and Mu Xin had no interest in playing.

Song Lujing's ice cream in hand wasn't finished yet, "You guys play; I'll just watch."

Seeing Mu Youyu seated, Jiang Liangjin sat in the simulator next to her.

Song Huaixian sat directly on her other side, a competitive fire lighting his eyes, "Since we're playing, let's do one round—the loser buys."

Yu Ci immediately accepted, "Sure, sure!"

The countdown ended, four simulators started up at once, and the roar of engines filled the entire racing area.

Mu Youyu hasn't played in a long time; at first she was a bit rusty, and her three brothers cheered her on from the side.

Song Huaixian, as expected of a professional racer, went full throttle right away, his car shooting forward like lightning.

Jiang Liangjin steered the car steadily, not fast, but kept watch on Mu Youyu's movements the whole time.

He would occasionally slow down to block the virtual NPCs from hitting her, protecting her thoroughly.

The three brothers who weren't playing watched, all showing satisfied looks.

Yu Ci refused to be outdone, slammed the accelerator, and forced a pass on the curve, shouting, "Ah Nan, am I cool or not?"

Gu Xingnan stood behind him and replied softly, "Cool, but be careful."

Jiang Liangjin saw Mu Youyu falling behind, had another idea, and quietly sped up.

Just as Yu Ci was getting carried away, Jiang Liangjin seized the moment, nudged the steering slightly, and his car's rear lightly brushed Yu Ci's car.

Yu Ci's car instantly scraped the wall, stalled for a few seconds, and its speed dropped sharply.

"What the hell, you ambushed me!" Yu Ci exploded, fumbling to adjust his direction.

Jiang Liangjin said nothing, just slowly blocked him in front, keeping the distance so he couldn't catch up.

In the end, Song Huaixian took first place without a doubt, Mu Youyu second, Jiang Liangjin third, and Yu Ci last.

Song Huaixian raised his eyebrows triumphantly, "Winner takes all—everyone's spending today, you're paying."

Yu Ci, unwilling to accept, ripped off his headset, "No way, another round! I just got hit by accident, it was a mistake!"

Gu Xingnan said calmly, "It's fine, I'll pay."

Yu Ci turned to look at him, his anger instantly gone, he patted his shoulder, "Still, Ah Nan, you're decent—unlike some people who just scheme against me."

Jiang Liangjin didn't respond, just reached out to help Mu Youyu out of the simulator, fixed her hair messed up by the cap, and asked softly, "Want to keep playing?"

Mu Youyu shook her head, "No, I'm done. Playing now makes me feel a bit dizzy for some reason—I never used to."

Seeing Song Huaixian still seated at the simulator with no intention to get up, she sat back down in the nearby resting chair, "You guys keep playing; I'll wait for you."
