Chapter 355: I Have Plenty of Connections
Jiang Liangjin's phone connected, and came the relatively gentle voice of his third uncle: "Hey, A Jin, anything wrong?"
The background sound on the receiver was faint, only the faint clinking of cups and saucers.
Third Uncle Jiang Yuan usually leads a leisurely life, traveling year-round everywhere; aside from domestic trips, he spends the most time in M Guo.
"Third Uncle, do you have connections in M Guo?"
Jiang Yuan's hand holding the cup paused slightly; he had raised a son for a deceased friend, who grew up steeped in herbal medicine from childhood, and in an M Guo hospital, speaking of connections…
It depends on what it is.
He asked: "What's wrong?"
"Youbao has been kidnapped."
"What?! Jiang Yuan's usually gentle tone suddenly shifted: 'You guys didn't go to M Guo?! How could you judge people?!'"
That child, Mu Youyu, is a little girl he has watched grow up.
Such an innocent child, yet kidnapped in M Guo—this is literally digging right under his nose, a blatant provocation!
Jiang Liangjin's Adam's apple rolled as he lowered his voice to admit fault: "... My mistake, I'll send you the data; do me a favor."
He had no extra emotions to vent; his thoughts were entirely on Mu Youyu, just wanting to swiftly eliminate all hidden dangers.
He would give those people no chance to retaliate.
"Where is she? Go rescue her—has my niece-in-law been hurt? Never mind, I'll send people to rescue; give me the address!"
From the other end of the phone came hurried footsteps, mingled with the rustling of clothing.
"She's out, now she's with the brothers."
After a few seconds, Jiang Yuan's voice sounded again, obviously relieved yet still tinged with lingering fear: "It's good that she's out, it's good that she's out."
He walked to the window, a cold glint flashing in his eyes: "Is she unharmed? Was she frightened? Did she bump into anything? Has the doctor examined her?"
A string of questions spilled out, each one betraying worry he could not hide.
"She was frightened, her wrists red from the ropes, she felt faint at the sight of the fight, and the doctor is already doing a preliminary check in the car." Jiang Liangjin answered truthfully.
"What about the kidnappers?" Jiang Yuan's voice turned cold again.
"They've been taken away by the M Guo police." Jiang Liangjin lifted his gaze, looking toward the not‑far warehouse already surrounded by police cars: "The leader is a bald man, shot twice in the arm, can't get away."
Jiang Yuan fell silent for a moment: "Bald? Have the others been cleared up?"
Jiang Liangjin briefly explained the information just synced from Mu Xin and Song Zeyi: "It's a underground force targeting the M Guo royal family; they took Youbao to be Qing An's younger sister, hence the kidnapping."
"The leaders are an old force that has lain dormant for years, feuding with Qing Wei. Unable to capture Qing Wei and Qing An, they thought to threaten Qing An through Youbao… have him exchange Youbao, then threaten Qing Wei."
"The main culprit is now under control; the M Guo police and the royal guard are on the scene, but Song Zeyi says these people still have a bigger power backing them."
"Otherwise they wouldn't dare move such a large force within M Guo's borders."
Jiang Liangjin knew very well how tight the M Guo royal family's security was, and that Mu Youyu had top‑tier Mu Family bodyguards beside her.
At the time, Mu Youyu thought she only had seven hidden guards, but there were actually more than seven.
To set up a silent ambush before and after, with strength comparable to her dozen or so guards, and to carry out a roadblock kidnapping directly—this is far beyond what ordinary kidnappers could do.
Behind the scenes someone must have paved the way, and perhaps even deliberately obscured Mu Youyu's identity information.
These matters can be handled openly by the M Guo royal family and the Pei Weika family.
As for the underground network and the hidden backers, they must be uprooted by forces more versed in the gray zone.
Jiang Yuan immediately seized on the key point: "They were taken away by the M Guo police?"
"Yes," Jiang Liangjin replied, "but I'm not at ease."
"Being uneasy is right." Jiang Yuan said lightly, "I'll greet the M Guo police and have them hand the person over—I have plenty of connections."
After saying that, he wondered: "Why would A Jin think to look for me?"
"Someone among those kidnappers mentioned your name."
The other end of the phone fell silent for a few seconds.
When Jiang Yuan's voice sounded again, the earlier urgency was gone: "You mentioned my name? How?"
"When that bald guy heard my name, his first reaction was to ask if I was your nephew." Jiang Liangjin paused, "They know you."
He lowered his voice to add: "They later learned Youbao was the Pei Weika family's eldest daughter, and fell into disarray. After that bald leader arrived, signs of infighting appeared among them."
The other end of the phone did not respond.
Jiang Liangjin knew he was listening, and continued: "The leading group didn't know Youbao was Ai Luoxiu's sister; they only thought she was Qing An's close sister. Once they found out, they dared not touch her—but that leader refuses to back down."
"Infighting?" He caught the keyword.
"Yes, that leader and the later chief are not of one mind."
Jiang Liangjin rarely gave further explanation: "The leader intercepted the chief, saying the Pei Weika family had done them a favor and must not be touched, but the chief wouldn't listen."
A hint of deep meaning crept into Jiang Yuan's tone: "A favor?"
"Yes, from the wiretap: back when Mu Xin's people were active in M Guo's underground turmoil, they helped a group. That group remembered Ai Luoxiu's name and remembered Song Zeyi's appearance."
Jiang Yuan understood his nephew's meaning—overtly hand the arrests over to the M Guo police and royal family, while covertly he would take care of it.
"Send over the specific data; you don't need to worry about the rest—lately I've been idle, so I'll find something to do."
"Mm, Third Uncle, you be careful too."
"Rest assured, Third Uncle knows his limits; I've been around in M Guo for years and have never let anyone stir up trouble on my head."
"Thanks."
"Thanks for what? When I was changing your diapers as a kid, I never saw you thank me."
Jiang Yuan retorted unhappily, seeing his nephew silent, then softened his tone: "Stay close with A Yu; a little girl encountering this would surely be terrified."
"Leave the rest to me."
After leaving his final words, he hung up; Jiang Liangjin stood where he was, took a few seconds to compose himself, then walked toward the nearby RV.
Inside the vehicle, the doctor was examining Mu Youyu, while Mu Xi kept her company inside.
Mu Xin stood at the car door, expression gloomy, quietly saying something to Song Ze yi.
Mu Xianqi crouched in the snow, silently smoking.
Song Yusui leaned against the rear of the car, expression still poor, wearing earphones and talking on the phone.
Song Lujing and Song Yan crowded at the door of another car, each craning their necks to look inside.
Qing An was not in the crowd.
Jiang Liangjin glanced over and saw him standing under a tree not far away, with Qing Wei standing before him.
The two didn't know what they were saying, too far apart to hear any sound.
All that could be seen was Qing An seeming angry, pushing Qing Wei away.
The other party did not dodge, head slightly lowered, expression inscrutable.
Ruo Ya stepped forward from the side, apparently trying to console him, but Qing An and the other person ignored her, turning and heading toward the RV.
Jiang Liangjin only glanced, then withdrew his gaze and stepped into the car.
