Chapter 508: So reliable!

~6 min read 1,003 words

Yu Ci said honestly, "He's been busy lately, I didn't want to bother him."

"Then just play by yourself."

Yu Ci: "..."

Mu Youyu looked amused at the two bickering, reached out and tugged Jiang Liangjin's sleeve, signaling him to stop teasing, and shouted at the screen: "We'll be going back in a few days."

Yu Ci nodded pitifully, "Alright, then come back early, don't get so happy in M Country that you forget your homeland—Z Country is your home."

Jiang Liangjin couldn't be bothered to reply, he directly asked: "So, have you decided what to apply for? September is coming up soon."

Yu Ci's expression turned a bit more serious: "I haven't decided yet; maybe I'll apply for business administration there. Anyway, I'll have to take over family matters later, so learning something useful is better than learning nothing."

"Later my dad also said I should decide for myself, so I won't blame him later if I regret it—but how would I know if I'll regret it? I've never been to college, isn't this making things hard for me?"

"'Sure.' Jiang Liangjin said."

Mu Youyu also chimed in: "Exactly, decide for yourself, apply for whatever you want to study."

"'How can you all be so perfunctory?' Yu Ci grew dissatisfied again, 'I'm really heartbroken...'"

He rambled on at length, then hastily added, "You're really coming back at the end of August? Are you sure? Won't you come earlier? Why not come back early? I'm really bored alone, I could even go pick you up at the airport."

He began pleading with the camera, palms together, his expression exaggerated.

Jiang Liangjin coldly refused: "Not coming back, you play by yourself."

Over there, school starts around mid-September; not coming back until early September is already fine.

Yu Ci looked hurt, "You've changed; you weren't like this before, you used to treat me so well."

Jiang Liangjin was speechless: "When?"

Yu Ci lowered his head, thinking hard; his expression shifted from reminiscence to bewilderment, then he gave a light cough to hide his embarrassment: "Forget it, let's not talk about it—let the past stay in the past."

He waved his hand, giving the impression that past events shouldn't be brought up, then asked: "Is Xi applying to Art School too? And Song brother? Are they joining you guys?"

"'How could they apply for that? They're not really into it.' Mu Youyu shook her head. 'Second older brother applied to the music department, and Road Jing older brother will likely go into computer science, or maybe just pick something at random.'"

"'The willfulness of the rich.'"

"'... Hung up.'"

After the call ended, Mu Youyu idly picked up her sketchpad and flipped through it, not really in the mood to look.

Jiang Liangjin propped his head on one hand: "Still want to keep drawing?"

Mu Youyu snapped out of it: "No, I want to see Second older brother. I don't know what he's been busy with these days; since coming to M Country I haven't really seen him."

Before Jiang Liangjin could respond, footsteps came from the path outside the pavilion.

Both turned their heads at once, only to see Mu Xi walking toward them.

He looked a bit more energetic than a few days ago, though his expression seemed like he hadn't gotten enough sleep.

Mu Youyu sprang up from her chair, delighted, calling: "Second older brother!"

Mu Xi quickened his steps into the pavilion; before he could call out, his sister grabbed his sleeve and pushed him onto the chair.

Mu Youyu looked him up and down, then said: "Second older brother, where have you been these days? I couldn't find you anywhere."

Mu Xi rubbed the hand he had extended on her head, saying: "Didn't I say I went to see a few people and discuss some things? What's up? Did you miss me?"

Mu Youyu nodded honestly: "A little."

Mu Xi's lips curled: "Just a little?"

Mu Youyu held her index finger and thumb apart to show a tiny distance: "This much."

"'Wow, that's a lot—my treasure really misses me.' Mu Xi chuckled, turned his head toward Jiang Liangjin, and gave a slight nod."

Jiang Liangjin: "Hello, Second older brother."

Mu Youyu shook her second older brother's arm, then returned to the previous topic: "Second older brother, just now Ruo Ya older sister said someone saw Xin Xin older brother in Y Country, thinking he'd go join that some project."

Mu Xi's motion paused, his eyes narrowed: "Who is it?"

"'Ruo Ya older sister heard it from a lady.' Mu Youyu answered truthfully: 'She said she saw Xin Xin older brother near the imperial palace in Y Country. But older brother is clearly domestically.'"

Mu Xi pondered for a moment, then rubbed her head with his hand: "I'll handle it, treasure, don't worry about it."

Mu Youyu's eyes sparkled: "Wow, Second older brother is so handsome."

Jiang Liangjin looked admiringly: "Second older brother is also so reliable; without him, we wouldn't know what to do."

"'Of course, and don't forget who I am.'"

Mu Xi felt quite pleased, chatted with them a while longer, then stood up: "I'm heading back first; let's have lunch together at noon, don't run around."

Mu Youyu obediently agreed; Mu Xi gave Jiang Liangjin a sideways glance, the latter smiled faintly, and then he turned and walked out of the pavilion.

Mu Xi returned to his room and pulled up Mu Xin's chat window.

In it, their chat logs from the past few days were mostly about the sister, largely consisting of pictures with brief text.

He quickly sent a message: "【Someone's spreading that you're in Y Country】"

Mu Xin on the other end, presumably having whitelisted him, replied quickly: "【Let them spread it, don't worry】"

Mu Xi understood, replying: "【What big secret are you plotting? Not even telling me】"

Xin Bao: "【Yes, no need for you to do anything】"

"'No need, then no need to tell you,' Mu Xi thought, and silently exited the chat window."
