Chapter 510: C University Report
Mu Youyu and Jiang Liangjin plan to go check out the dormitory over at the Art School, while Mu Xi will go to the Music School side.
The three split up downstairs at the Art School.
Because Mu Youyu wanted to experience university dorm life, someone arranged a dorm for her, planning to stay only a few days before moving to Mu Xi's place.
Most dormitories at the Art School are standard four-person rooms with beds above desks and private bathrooms.
When Mu Youyu arrived at the dormitory, there was already someone inside.
The female student was slightly plump, with a dull, yellowish complexion showing long-term malnutrition, her long hair's ends yellowed and split, hanging loosely.
She was crouched on the floor, frantically unpacking her suitcase; hearing the door open, she jerked her head up, and her gaze locked onto Mu Youyu the moment their eyes met.
The girl before her was exquisitely beautiful, with skin white and delicate, her simple outfit betraying an innate elegance, her pink-gold hair smooth and lustrous, and a faint fragrance surrounding her.
Just standing there, she was utterly out of place in this ordinary dorm.
Xu Zhiying's eyes flashed with astonishment, and she quickly stood up, saying, "Hello, hello, classmate! I'm Xu Zhiying! I thought you had finished setting up the dorm and gone out to eat!"
Mu Youyu sat at her desk, her demeanor calm, and said, "Hello, I'm Mu Youyu, from West City, C Shi."
Earlier, her bodyguard had already received the news, come in, cleaned the dorm thoroughly, and disinfected it; now her bed and personal items are neatly arranged.
The whole area was clean and fresh, forming a stark contrast with the messy luggage nearby.
Xu Zhiying's eyes lit up: "What a lovely name! Just now my other two roommates said your family helped clean the dorm, and it's spotless now! Your things were also arranged by them—your family really treats you well…"
Mu Youyu gave a light smile: "Mm, thank you. It was my bodyguard who did it."
"A bodyguard?"
Xu Zhiying's gaze kept drifting to the diamond necklace around her neck, the silver bracelet on her wrist, and then to the latest-model phone in her hand, exclaiming, "Holy crap, I've only seen this on TV—are you a rich lady?"
Mu Youyu didn't really want to engage on that topic, just smiled and asked, "Have you finished packing your things?"
"I've packed most of it, still missing a few supplies; I'll go to the supermarket later to buy them."
Xu Zhiying shook her head, unable to resist inviting, "Want to go get lunch together later? I know a place that's cheap and a good deal!"
She deliberately mentioned 'cheap' to show she knows how to manage money.
?
Mu Youyu didn't understand, stood up, gave the dorm a quick glance, and politely said, "No thanks."
Xu Zhiying, sensing the cue, didn't pursue the topic and continued organizing her belongings.
Jiang Liangjin had been waiting downstairs for a while; when Mu Youyu came down, he was leaning against the flowerbed, holding a bunch of pink roses, with many students glancing over.
Seeing her figure from afar, he stepped forward and handed the flowers to her, saying, "Fresh flowers for a fairy."
Mu Youyu took them and said, "Oh, your sweet mouth—rewarding you with a meal together."
"My honor." Jiang Liangjin naturally took her hand, smiling, and asked, "How's the dorm?"
"Not bad."
Jiang Liangjin took the chance while she went upstairs to look over a typical male dorm; hearing her answer, he remained quite critical: "Is Youbao really going to stay here for a few days? The dorm is crowded and inconvenient."
Mu Youyu blinked; she had dorms in her earlier middle and high school, though she never lived in them, and Jiang Liangjin's reaction was understandable.
"Four people is fine, okay? We agreed that if we don't get used to it after a few days, we'll move out with you."
Jiang Liangjin sighed in compromise: "All right, I'll listen to you. Let's go eat first—Second Brother said things are wrapped up over there."
The two headed toward the cafeteria; as they passed a teaching building, someone came running up from behind.
A bespectacled male student ran up to them, panting, "Hello, classmate, I'm a reporter from the campus newspaper—may I ask you a few questions?"
Another journalist, and from the campus paper at that—Jiang Liangjin didn't break stride, slipping back into his aloof mode: "Not convenient."
"Just a few simple questions!"
"No time."
"Won't take up your time, just a few minutes!"
Jiang Liangjin's voice cool: "My time is very precious."
The boy didn't give up, trailing behind them.
Mu Youyu glanced at him sideways; the boy grew a bit nervous under her look, pushed his glasses up, and revealed a sincere expression.
"Today is freshman registration—does everyone have to be asked?" Mu Youyu asked deliberately.
The boy paused, then said, "Not everyone, just random interviews."
"Then pick someone else at random." Jiang Liangjin said that, tightened his grip on Mu Youyu, and quickened their pace.
……
C University has many cafeterias; the one they chose isn't crowded, they arrived early, and most freshmen were still finishing paperwork.
Mu Xi had already taken three seats, the table holding two cups of milk and three unopened meal sets; seeing them enter, she lifted her chin.
Mu Youyu sat opposite him, set the flowers down, and said, "Second Brother, are there a lot of people over there?"
Mu Xi didn't ask further about the flowers, opened the meal set, and said, "Not bad, our class happens to have twenty."
Mu Youyu replied, "Our class has twenty-four."
"Yes." Jiang Liangjin transferred the vegetables from his plate to her bowl, saying, "Eat more."
Mu Youyu wanted to say she didn't want to eat vegetables, but meeting his blinking eyes, she still picked up her chopsticks.
She picked them up and placed them in Mu Xi's bowl.
Mu Xi:?
The meal ended quietly, and the three rose to leave the cafeteria.
In the afternoon, the campus gradually filled with people; the sunlight wasn't glaring, but warm enough to make one drowsy.
Just as they stepped out of the cafeteria doors, an elderly man with white-streaked hair, holding a cloth bag, hesitated while looking this way, his steps faltering.
Mu Youyu caught sight of him at a glance, slipped the flowers into Jiang Liangjin's hand, and went forward to greet him, "Grandpa, are you looking for someone?"
The old man hurriedly nodded, his accent a bit heavy: "I'm looking for… the office building of the Art School, I don't know how to get there."
"Grandfather, you follow……" Mu Youyu looked around, didn't see the volunteers nearby, changed her words, "I'll take you over, it just happens to be along the Future Path."
Jiang Liangjin and Mu Xi saw this scene, both gave an indulgent smile, exchanged a glance, tacitly slowed their steps, falling half a step behind to follow.
The old man repeatedly thanked, following Mu Youyu as they walked slowly forward.
Mu Xi's gaze fell on the flower in Jiang Liangjin's arms, she turned her head, lips slightly parting, and threw out a sentence neither light nor heavy: "College."
Though the remark sounded out of the blue, Jiang Liangjin immediately straightened his posture.
His tone conveyed a solemnity only the two understood: "Second brother, rest assured, I'm preparing."
Mu Xi was satisfied, her expression returning to her sister: "That'll do, don't think about fooling us."
Mu Youyu walked ahead, didn't catch what the two were saying, she turned back: "Why are you walking so slowly?"
Jiang Liangjin quickened his steps to walk beside her, "Here I am."
The wind swept over the treetops, light and shadow interlaced, like a long letter simultaneously laid out in light, each word and sentence, awaiting only one person to sign.
