Chapter 548: Technique Can't Keep Up with Idea
Mu Xi quickened his pace, "It's not convenient."
Song Lujing shrugged, turned, and followed after.
"Junior..." Xu Ying steeled herself to catch up, but Yu Ci and Gu Xingnan blocked her.
Yu Ci kindly reminded, "Don't push your luck, senior; lately Xi Ge is just in a good mood, wanting to keep a low profile—that doesn't mean his personality is like that."
After a brief silence, Xu Ying finally walked to the other side of the track, her steps much faster than before, "Alright, sorry for the disturbance."
Yu Ci withdrew his gaze, clicked his tongue, "That's more like it; you should have left earlier, dragging your feet."
Jiang Liangjin fastened Mu Youyu's coat zipper, and when he looked up, his eyes met Mu Xi's.
Mu Xi slightly raised his chin, gesturing for the two to follow.
Song Lujing took out a candy from his pocket, unwrapped it and popped it in his mouth, "I glanced at her sheet music; the arrangement is quite fancy, but the technique can't keep up with the idea, so the effect is diminished when played."
Mu Youyu turned her head to glance at him, "When did he learn all this?"
Song Lujing caught his sister's gaze, smirked, "Although I don't study piano, being by Xi Ge's side for so many years, I've picked up a bit just by listening."
Yu Ci caught up from behind, casually interjected, "Song Ge, is that you've learned by listening or by looking? Your ears can't even tell if you're off-key, yet you critique others."
Song Lujing didn't care, "I'm not going on stage anyway; what's it to you if I'm off-key?"
As the group walked back to the resting area, Qiao Xin was holding up her phone to photograph the distant high jump field.
In the frame, a male student in white sportswear had just cleared the bar, his posture perfect.
Xiao Yu sat beside her, sketchbook open, pencil moving quickly across the page, drawing the side profile of that male student just now.
No one knew how long the two had been noticing him.
Qiao Xin finished shooting, lowered her head to review the photos, out of the corner of her eye saw Mu Youyu return, and immediately held out her phone, "Goddess, look—someone just cleared 1.8 meters, flying right over the bar!"
Mu Youyu leaned in to take a look; the photo was well shot, composition and lighting good, "Your photography skills are impressive."
Qiao Xin, a bit embarrassed by the praise, shrank her shoulders, "Of course, I've been practicing by photographing you every day."
Mu Youyu smiled and sat down on the chair.
Yu Ci let out a "yo", "His hair looks like a steel wire ball."
The others, hearing that, followed his gaze and felt as if they saw a steel wire ball take off.
Qiao Xin spread her hands, "I don't know."
The steel wire ball ran up to the group, hands on knees, facing Qiao Xin, flashing a somewhat goofy smile, "How was my jump just now?"
Qiao Xin leaned toward Xiao Yu, "It's... okay, I guess."
It was a bit of a takeoff.
The steel wire ball's smile grew brighter, "I usually can jump higher; today I'm a bit nervous."
As he said that, he glanced at Qiao Xin's phone in her hand, feigning innocence, "Were you just filming me?"
Qiao Xin put on an honest-person act, "Yeah, you said if I filmed you well, you'd teach me oil painting."
After refusing to add contact that day, the steel wire ball sent a friend request a few days later.
She subconsciously peeked at his social media, realized she had misjudged this guy—his level was actually higher than hers, and she didn't know which teacher taught him.
Mu Youyu that day in the dorm naturally saw their chat logs; looking back now, she still finds it funny.
