Chapter 57: Going to tear down the house

~8 min read 1,578 words

The next day.

Mu Youyu had just reached the second floor of Lan Lin when she heard a sound coming from the stairwell above.

She lazily lifted her gaze and saw Leng Yueyue standing at the stairwell entrance, two girls beside her, blocking a familiar-looking girl.

It was Mo Song.

Mo Song clutched yesterday's slightly dirty backpack, her face pale, eyes red-rimmed, as if about to cry.

Mu Youyu didn't hear what Leng Yueyue said, but she could see her expression turning fierce.

Mo Song seemed to dodge, but Leng Yueyue shoved her, causing her to stagger and slam into the wall.

Mu Youyu had arrived early today, and there were hardly any students around.

She clicked her tongue lightly, strolled over nonchalantly, and said in a cool tone, "Hey."

Leng Yueyue instinctively turned around, saw her, and her face changed: "How are you everywhere!"

The two lackeys behind her, recalling yesterday, instinctively stepped back.

Mu Youyu pointed to Class A downstairs and said deliberately, "Maybe it's because I happen to be in the same class as A Nan."

Leng Yueyue's face indeed flushed with anger: "You little brat! Who let you be in the same class as Xingnan gege!"

Mu Youyu put on a thoughtful look: "Maybe it's the board of directors."

"You!" Leng Yueyue spat out a single word, then suddenly remembered something, making her even angrier.

She only found out yesterday after returning home that Lan Lin's Five Campus Belles had been replaced!

No, only she had been removed, and it was this person right in front of her who had taken her place!

Ahhh, why is that!

Her expression darkened, and she lunged at Mu Youyu.

Seeing Leng Yueyue about to grab her, Mu Youyu dodged, shifted half a step to the side, and inadvertently shielded Mo Song behind her.

The two lackeys instinctively moved farther away, not daring to speak.

Leng Yueyue's lunge missed, she wobbled off balance, then glared even more fiercely: "You dare to dodge?"

"Why wouldn't I dare?"

Mu Youyu raised an eyebrow, lightly tapping the stair railing with her fingertip.

Her voice carried a careless chill: "Do you really want to fight here, hoping the whole school sees how you bully people?"

Those words struck at Leng Yueyue's reservations.

No matter how bold she was, she feared the incident would blow up and draw school accountability.

She bullied Mo Song only in deserted places, and Mo Song wouldn't dare tell a teacher.

Besides, Gu Xingnan would find out as well.

Jiang Liangjin would find out too!

But thinking about how she'd been pushed off the campus belle list, she couldn't swallow that anger, so she gritted her teeth and glared at Mo Song: "What I'm doing to her has nothing to do with you!"

"Now it does." Mu Youyu glanced at the trembling Mo Song, then lifted her eyes, her tone turning colder: "Either you leave now, or I'll go find A Jin right away."

In her view, using Jiang Liangjin to suppress Leng Yueyue was far more effective than involving a teacher.

Leng Yueyue's face alternated between green and white.

The lackey behind her tugged her sleeve and whispered, "Yueyue jie, forget it—if it really gets to Young Master Jiang…"

Young Master Jiang and Young Master Gu originally held no affection for Leng Yueyue.

"Shut up!"

Leng Yueyue shook off the lackey's hand, but dared not advance further.

All she could do was glare hatefully at Mu Youyu and snap, "You just wait!"

Having said that, she stomped upstairs with her two lackeys.

Only when their silhouettes vanished around the stairwell corner did Mu Youyu turn to Mo Song and say, "It's okay."

Mo Song then slowly lifted her head, eyes still red, and whispered, "Thank you, Mu Youyu."

Mu Youyu glanced at the backpack in her arms and casually asked, "When something like this happens, why don't you tell a teacher?"

She had forgotten to ask yesterday.

Is it that the teachers don't care?

Mo Song lowered her head: "My mom said not to bother the teachers; I'm afraid they'd side with Leng Yueyue."

After all, Leng Yueyue comes from a wealthy family.

Mu Youyu clicked her tongue, wanting to take her hand: "I'll take you there."

As it turned out, Mo Song had never gone to a teacher about it.

What's there to fear? Lan Lin is Jiang Family's property; a mere Leng Family school is nothing to them.

If Mo Song had told a teacher early on, Leng Yueyue would surely have been forced to read a self-criticism before the whole school and would have been restrained.

Now Leng Yueyue only targets Mo Song's meek, non‑complaining demeanor, bullying her alone and using her as a punching bag.

Mo Song wrenched her hand free and bowed: "No, no need, thank you…"

Mu Youyu's hand remained frozen in mid‑air.

Then Mo Song shrank back, her steps retreating as well.

It was clear she had made up her mind not to see a teacher.

"You…" Mu Youyu still wanted to urge her not to keep enduring it.

But Mo Song quickly bowed again, voice trembling with urgency: "Really, no need to trouble you, Mu Youyu—I still have to turn in my homework, I'm leaving now, thank you!"

No sooner had the words left her mouth than she clutched her backpack, turned, and sprinted upstairs, her steps fast and panicked, even her back showing her flustered state.

She seemed afraid Mu Youyu would catch up again to bring up seeing a teacher.

Mu Youyu: "……"

She let out a helpless sigh; her nature is far too soft—she runs from anything she fears.

She didn't call out to Mo Song, either; instead, she absentmindedly turned and went downstairs, heading toward Class A.

As she reached the classroom door, she saw Jiang Liangjin sitting by the window, head down, looking at his phone.

Sunlight caught the ends of his hair, making the wine-red strands gleam dazzlingly.

Mu Youyu walked straight over, pulled out the chair beside him and sat down, meeting Jiang Liangjin's gaze.

He raised an eyebrow, lifted his chin at her, and said, "Why do you look so off today?"

Does she?

Mu Youyu thought the words to herself but didn't ask them out loud.

She pulled out the chair and sat down, absently saying, "Nothing much—I just saw a bullying scene."

She didn't plan to bring up Mo Song's matter, after all, that little girl herself didn't want to make a fuss.

If she interfered further, it would seem like she was forcing them to act.

Bullying?

Is she being bullied?

Jiang Liangjin paused, studied her closely, and she didn't look like someone who'd been bullied.

So he didn't ask further, just tapped his phone.

Seeing his action, Mu Youyu understood.

She took out her phone and noticed she had missed quite a few messages.

Last night at 10 p. m., A Jin: 【Are you asleep?】

At 10:02 p. m., A Jin: 【Good night】

Yesterday she and Jiang Liangjin played all night with Mu Xi's newly released internal-test level-crawler mini-game.

She kept getting clipped by the clamp, always waiting for Jiang Liangjin to rescue her, and eventually fell asleep while playing.

Mu Youyu exclaimed, explaining, "I fell asleep last night and didn't have time to check the messages."

Jiang Liangjin said, "I guessed as much."

She lowered her brows again.

There was also a message from this morning asking when she would come to school.

Mu Youyu raised her brows and replied, "I'm here now."

Jiang Liangjin propped his head with one hand and said, "I saw that."

Bai Yun in front turned around, handed two test papers to Mu Youyu, and said, "Little Yu, here."

Mu Youyu stacked the test papers, shoved them into the drawer, looked up, and saw Gu Xingnan and Yu Ci entering the classroom one after another.

The two seemed not to have slept well, especially Yu Ci, whose under-eye darkness was obvious.

Yu Ci yawned as soon as he entered the classroom, a bit of physiological tears welling at the corners of his eyes.

He walked to his seat, still not forgetting to kick the table leg, looking utterly lacking in energy.

Xia Chaoyi in front glanced at the bluish-black under their eyes, then raised his voice: "What's up with you two, Brother Ci and Brother Nan? You look lifeless! And weren't you guys beaten yesterday afternoon?"

The classmates perked up their ears to listen.

After all, the incident had spread all over the campus network, and someone had even recorded the whole thing on video.

Those who saw the whole thing couldn't help but give a thumbs-up to those bald guys: "You're awesome, daring to hit Brother Ci and Brother Nan—and even Brother Mo Song isn't scared!"

Questions came flying one after another.

"My heart clenches watching the video! Those bald guys were too vicious, even hitting Brother Nan in the face—our Brother Nan's face is ruined! Who are they?"

"Exactly, exactly! When I saw the video I even thought I was mistaken—who would dare to oppose you guys?"

"And Brother Mo Song was there too! Haven't they seen Brother Mo Song?"

Jiang Liangjin said nothing.

Yu Ci had no energy to reply, merely tapping Gu Xingnan with his hand.

The latter received the message and replied flatly: "Going to tear down a home."

Obviously he only heard the first thing Xia Chaoyi asked.

Xia Chaoyi was completely bewildered.

The class fell silent.
