Chapter 605: Walking Is Too Tiring
The Special Assistant suddenly turned back, knocked on the door, and poked half of his body in from the doorway.
He held a document that needed signing, his expression respectful.
Mu Xi reached out to take it, quickly skimmed the clauses, signed, and passed it back, not saying a word from start to finish.
The Special Assistant lowered his head and retreated, closing the door.
Mu Xin asked, "Second brother, how's the situation here?"
Mu Xi leaned back into the sofa, closed his eyes and rubbed his brow, "Not much, those old-timers talk too much, repeating the same few sentences over and over, it's giving me a headache."
During this time at the company, he had only one thought in his mind: I really miss my sister, I really miss his piano!!
Mu Xin's blue eyes fell on his slightly fatigued face, feeling a bit heartbroken, "Shall I handle it?"
Mu Xi waved his hand, opened his eyes, the clarity returned to his gaze, "No need for now, I'll just leave them be, petty clowns, no need to dirty your hands."
He has his own pace, not rushing for a moment, letting those people rush while he himself sits steadily on the fishing terrace.
This answer was within Mu Xin's expectations, so he didn't ask further.
After a moment of silence, Mu Xin pulled out a handful of variously colored candies from his pocket and placed them on Mu Xi's sofa armrest.
"Candy? You think I'm your sister?" Mu Xi raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing, but his eyes softened.
Mu Xin said flatly, "Love it or not."
"I want it." Mu Xi gave a low laugh, reached out and picked up one, the wrapper still bearing the pattern designed by his dear little sister.
He peeled off the wrapper, put the candy in his mouth, the sweetness melted on his tongue, dispelling some of his irritability.
Mu Xin sat up straight, as if casually mentioning, "My sister went to A City, did she tell you?"
"No." Mu Xi replied.
During his meeting, the bodyguard sent him a message report, and he found out through the bodyguard.
Mu Xin's lips curled slightly, indicating his sister still loved him most as her brother, "She didn't tell you, so I won't either."
He and his sister are truly the best in the world!
Mu Xi:?
Mu Youyu left early, didn't stay long, and her return from A City was before noon.
After sending a message to Jiang Liangjin, she quickly took the elevator up and, with a series of pattering steps, entered the office.
Jiang Liangjin's eyes were covered, and from behind came a suppressed voice: "Guess who I am?"
Jiang Liangjin chuckled, stopped the signing motion, deliberately drew out his tone: "This is hard, I can't guess, what to do... Is it glutinous rice?"
As his words fell, Jiang Liangjin felt the hands covering his eyes tighten.
He didn't rush to move, just pressed a slight arc at the corner of his mouth, "So I guessed right? Glutinous rice, how did you become a spirit?"
"No." Mu Youyu released her hands, went around to face him, tilted her face, her pink-gold hair tips swaying, "Glutinous rice isn't as cute as me."
The covering hands were moved aside; just as Jiang Liangjin was about to speak again, Mu Youyu stepped on his foot.
After stepping, Mu Youyu quickly slipped to the fridge by the indoor restroom door, started rummaging for food, "You said this morning you bought two boxes of pudding, didn't you? There's still one left?"
Jiang Liangjin naturally wouldn't mind, turning his chair to face her, "Someone greedy ate it."
Mu Youyu blinked twice, looking regretful, "Any more greedy ghosts? Who is it? I want the strawberry-flavored one."
"Yu Ci." Jiang Liangjin explained, "He just came over, sat for a bit, you go tell him."
"Forget it, no need to tell him." Mu Youyu stared at the lone box of blueberry pudding in the fridge, "So now only the blueberry flavor is left?"
Jiang Liangjin comforted without hesitation, "Next time, let him compensate you with a whole fridge."
Mu Youyu reached out, took it out, turned around, and waved it at her, her light eyes clear and bright, "Do you want some?"
Jiang Liangjin came around from behind the desk, took the box of pudding, and casually opened the lid for her, "This is bought for baby."
Mu Youyu scooped a spoonful of pudding, swallowed it, then leaned in, wrapped her hands around his neck, and kissed him, "That first bite is for you."
Jiang Liangjin's heart softened; he supported her knee with one hand, gave a slight lift, letting her hang more comfortably on him.
"Sweet?" Mu Youyu wiggled her toes, her fingertips playing with the short hair at the back of his neck.
"Sweet." Jiang Liangjin held her and walked to the sofa, sat down, letting his fiancée sit sideways on his lap, took over the pudding and began feeding her.
Mu Youyu took a bite, shifted her sitting position, "Any plans now? Should we have lunch early?"
"There are plans." Jiang Liangjin said seriously, "Stone is anxiously waiting for you."
Mu Youyu tilted her head, "What stone? That's called ore!"
Jiang Liangjin made an affirmative sound, put the pudding box down, "Your assistant's side has already made an appointment with the other side, you can meet anytime."
Mu Youyu's assistant is naturally the assistant team arranged by her family.
She had originally planned to go check it out today; seeing that it was still early, she immediately got off his leg, "Let's go!"
As Mu Youyu was about to step, Jiang Liangjin hooked her wrist, gave a light tug, and she fell back into his embrace.
"What's the rush," he said, lowering his head to rub her soft cheek, "Stone won't run away, but..."
He shifted his tone, holding her without letting go, "Baby, I was exhausted from the meeting just now, I need you to replenish my energy."
Since being together, Mu Youyu has also heard him call her "baby" not for the first time.
As a voice-controlled person, she thinks whatever her fiancé says sounds great!
Seeing her fiancé's delicate features up close, she laughed and dodged, her fingers tugging at his tie, winding around, "Director Jiang, you... uh..."
Her protest was muffled by a kiss.
This conversation went much better than the first time.
Jiang Liangjin felt the person in his arms tremble slightly, he gently sucked on her lips, then pressed his forehead to hers and hoarsely asked, "Baby, may I ask what's wrong with me?"
Being so close, Mu Youyu's complexion looked unnatural; she lightly pushed him, "You're really annoying."
Jiang Liangjin, however, automatically translated that into "I like you," his fingertip twirling a strand of her hair, "Really going?"
He also said, "Or should we call it off? Those stones aren't as nice-looking as you."
Mu Youyu slapped away his restless hand, was speechless for a few seconds, and emphasized: "You yourself said the stone is waiting for me."
"But now it's sleeping." Jiang Liangjin chuckled lowly, "If we go, will we disturb it?"
Mu Youyu was made to laugh by him, her voice softening: "No way, as soon as we get there, we'll wake it and its whole family up."
Jiang Liangjin's eyes deepened, the hand gripping her waist tightened, and he let out a muffled laugh: "All right, I'll listen to baby."
He finally let her go, but then smoothly scooped her up in a horizontal hold, startling Mu Youyu into a soft gasp; her arms hastily wrapped around his neck.
"Didn't you say you wouldn't dawdle?" she glared at him.
"No dawdling," Jiang Liangjin said, holding her as he walked steadily toward the door, "but before we go see the stone, I need to first carry my baby to the car—walking is too tiring."
They had already reached the office door, Mu Youyu's face was still flushed; seeing she couldn't break free and fearing being seen, she had no choice but to bury her burning face in the crook of his neck.
She whispered silently, hoping others would think of her as an immobile ornament.
