Chapter 634
On the morning of October 3, Mu Youyu was woken up by Jiang Liangjin's phone call; when she reached for her phone, her eyes were not fully open yet.
She always habitually kept the blackout curtains closed; upon opening her eyes, the light made her squint.
Mu Youyu swiped to answer, her voice thick with sleep: "Hey?"
From the other end came the boy's tender voice: "Good morning, baby, wake up, I'm downstairs."
"Okay…… I'll get up right away."
Today is the one-year anniversary of their relationship.
After hanging up, Mu Youyu slowly pushed herself up to sit, went to the bathroom to wash up and change clothes, then went downstairs.
Mu Xi and Mu Xin were both away today, making the whole manor especially quiet.
Mu Youyu headed straight to the dining room; breakfast was already set out.
Jiang Liangjin sat in the dining room waiting for her, his gaze following her until she sat down, then he turned her porridge bowl for her, asking, "Where are we going today?"
"First we'll go to the mall to browse, then have a meal; I've reserved a spot."
Jiang Liangjin propped his chin, gazing at her admiringly: "Baby, you're so clever, even thinking to reserve a spot ahead of time—unlike me, I'd rather not go out; with you around, I never have to worry about not having a seat."
?
Mu Youyu almost choked on the porridge, then recovered, feeling pleased: "Of course! So you're staying with me all day, right?"
"Of course, today I belong entirely to Baby."
Mu Youyu was very satisfied with that answer.
They finished breakfast and headed out.
The mall had just opened, not yet crowded, and the two strolled slowly along the corridor.
Mu Youyu weighed the options between two stores for a long time, and finally Jiang Liangjin pulled her straight into the third one.
When they came out, he was holding four bags, all of the styles she had glanced at twice.
The whole process seemed uneventful, but Jiang Liangjin knew that if he let her choose from the few styles she liked, she could agonize over it for a while.
He had enough ability to spare her all unnecessary hesitation and choices.
"..."
By evening, the two arrived at Youyin Manor; the manor's decoration was nearly complete, and the butler and servants had all been arranged.
The servants had already set fresh flowers and candles on the table, the red glass cups held juice, and the dishes were all Mu Youyu's favorites.
After eating, Mu Youyu wiped her lips, her dark eyes unblinking as she examined the boy across from her who was pouring her juice.
"Baby, why have you been staring at me? Do you miss me?" Jiang Liangjin set down the juice, naturally moved from across the table to hug her, saying, "Here I come."
Mu Youyu returned the hug, "Yeah, yeah, I missed you."
Hearing that pleased him; Jiang Liangjin's fingertips brushed her neck, "Happy anniversary."
His hand suddenly reached out, making Mu Youyu twitch; she scratched his head and softly replied, "Happy anniversary."
Jiang Liangjin wrapped his arm around her, catching her scent, "Baby, you look really beautiful today."
"Wasn't I beautiful yesterday?"
"You're always beautiful."
As his words fell, he gave her no chance to dodge, lowered his head, and their kiss deepened more than ever, lips and teeth entwined.
Caught off guard, Mu Youyu clutched his collar, her breath disrupted, her lashes trembling badly.
Jiang Liangjin held her waist, his fingertips tracing up her spine to the nape of her neck, his thumb rubbing back and forth over that slender patch of white skin, sometimes dipping shallowly, sometimes withdrawing slowly.
After several rounds of intimacy, Mu Youyu's lips were slightly red from his sucking, her breath largely cut off.
Feeling she could barely breathe, she clung to his shoulder, her fingertips kneading the hair at the base of his skull, her grip tightening unconsciously.
Jiang Liangjin pulled back slightly, forehead against hers, breathing a little heavier, "What to do, I hate to let you go back."
Mu Youyu heard the restraint in his voice, struggled out of that daze, shoved him away, her face flushed beyond words.
Her voice trembled, tinged with shyness: "You… speak properly."
Jiang Liangjin took a deep breath, rested his chin on her shoulder, and chuckled lowly, "Baby, which of my words do you think I'm not speaking properly?"
"Anything is easy to say." Mu Youyu helplessly slid off his lap, "Just… this little baby, time's up—Second Brother and Xin Brother have already come to pick me up; I should go back, or else they'll come in and grab you."
Jiang Liangjin hooked an arm, then leaned in to lightly kiss her corner of the mouth, "All right, then I'll walk you home."
After the kiss, Jiang Liangjin let go, picked up the coat draped over the sofa, and took her hand toward the door.
Mu Youyu took the coat he handed her and put it on; Jiang Liangjin stepped forward to zip it up, then smoothed the collar as well.
Mu Xi saw her sister's slightly flushed cheeks and gave Jiang Liangjin a leisurely look.
Jiang Liangjin looked quite innocent, glanced at him, then turned to Mu Xin, "Hello, Second Brother, hello, Brother."
Mu Xin saw his sister finally come out, his expression softened, "Going back?"
Mu Youyu ran over and linked arms with him, "Let's go, Brother."
The Mu and Jiang families weren't far apart; since the fiancée hadn't become a wife yet, Jiang Liangjin had no intention of staying at Youyin Manor, got in the car and followed back to the Jiang household.
A few days later, Leng Anzhi's farewell banquet was held at a five-star hotel in C City.
From the start she hadn't planned to study domestically; her ultimate plan was to experience the college entrance exam and then go abroad.
Most of the Leng family's relatives, the connections they'd built over the years, peers or parents' generation from the great clans—everyone who could be invited came.
Leng Anzhi wore a white formal gown, her hair pinned up, standing in the center of the crowd talking to people.
Leng Father stood to her left; his face was still somewhat pale from recent illness, but his spirit was fine.
He would occasionally glance sideways at his daughter, his eyes full of reluctance.
When someone came over with a wine glass to toast, Leng Father would block it for his daughter.
In a lull, Leng Father turned his head toward his daughter, wanting to speak but stopping, "Anzhi, once you leave like this it'll be several years…"
Leng Anzhi turned her face, "What several years? Dad, I'll come back to see you during breaks, or you can come see me when you have time."
Father Leng was even more reluctant to let go, his cute and well‑behaved daughter!
"Don't be unhappy, I can still stay a few more days." Leng Anzhi helplessly comforted him with a few words.
Father Leng, having been coaxed almost enough, then asked: "Over there, do you have any boy you like?"
Leng Anzhi gave him a sideways glance, "No."
Father Leng felt ill at ease under his daughter's stare, lowering his voice: "I'm just asking; when you go out alone, you always need someone who knows your cold and heat by your side… It's fine if you don't like them; you'll meet someone suitable later."
Leng Anzhi knew what he was worrying about: "Alright, I've got this under control; don't worry yourself over it, just take care of your health."
Only then did Father Leng seem to relax, letting out a small laugh: "That's good, that's good."
Not far away, Mu Youyu waved with a smile: "Anzhi!"
Seeing her close friend arrive, Leng Anzhi also raised her hand to wave back: "Dad, I'm going over first."
